Thanks Ed,

I’m just trying to get my head around how it’s all supposed to work. From My site to Paypal and back again.

I’ve just done a successful Paypal Sandbox transaction, but there’s no new User added to my site..

Not sure if that’s what supposed to happen or what. I’ve watched the videos a couple of but they didn’t actually cover this bit. (Or maybe I didn’t see it.)

One step at a time.

OK,

seems I had the wrong PDT, not sure how that happened.

Fixed it and it seems to be working.

Now I get the default and ugly Thank You message.

Thanks Ed,

the server settings seem to be ok, see http://hotbuttonmarketing.com.au/s2member-server-check-120703.php

The setup is in a sub domain.

Also, the custom attribute looks ok too

[s2Member-PayPal-Button level="1" ccaps="" desc="Online Marketing Ansers Monthly Membership" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="AUD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="answers.hotbuttonmarketing.com.au" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="29" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="1" image="default" output="button" /]

I suspect it’s one of the Paypal ID/token numbers but there are that many of them it’s head spinning trying to figure out which one it is.

As I said it all seems to be working at the Paypal end, the test purchases are being recorded in the Sandbox account.

It’s just the return to the site that’s at issue. Time to break out the magnifying glass (sigh)

The url is http://answers.hotbuttonmarketing.com.au/would-you/ Scroll to near the bottom to see the buttons. At the moment it’s set to Paypal Sandbox, so if you want to test feel free.

Thanks again

Thanks Ed,

I want to set up a membership site with protected content and forums.

When the member signs up via paypal I expect all of their personal information to be recorded in the user section of the backend of the site.

I don’t want them to have to subscribe first and then fill in a second form for paypal payment or vice versa.

I don’t want them to have to have a Paypal account in order to pay.

I’d prefer if the transaction happened on site and that they aren’t taken away the site.

Basically I want the process to be seamless.

OK,

it seems that to do what i want to do I will need s2 Member Pro and Paypal Pro.

Not a real drama, just nice to know before I get to far down the track.

Thanks

Ed,

well that video was well hidden.

Didn’t see it in the Playlist at first as it’s hidden below the frame and right at the bottom.

Here’s a thought:

Do I need the PDT actually turned on if I’m only testing locally?

Thanks Nate,

that’s what I thought.

So back to my original question, they would then be two separate products, Yes?
