Question about Pro – Custom Capabilities

I have a few questions.

1. I have just started with the free version but I am wondering how easy it is to upgrade to the pro version. Do I need to re-do things, or is it a simple upgrade process. I don’t want to go too far down the road to see if things work only to have to recreate my work.

2. I will have no pay memberships. Everything is free, but I do need to segregate members into different categories. I was going to make them level 0 and use the custom capabilities to create the groups. I do not want any user to see a paypal button or anything like this.

3. I want to allow users to register for the groups themselves. I would like to email them a link (hidden) to the group they will be part of. They would register, get their password and then be able to log in and see that content. Can I have multiple registration forms that allow them to be placed into the groups?

4. Is it possible to allow a user to put in their own password and then when they complete the registration they are automatically logged in?

I just read the installation instructions for Pro, so question #1 about upgrading is clear.

Still need any feedback/answers for question 3 and 4 – mostly question 3 about having multiple registration forms that assign people to specific custom capability groups automatically. That functionality would make the Pro version work for me.

I would say the easiest way to do this currently would be to use s2Member’s Custom Capabilities to separate Users into groups

You can set up Free Registration Pro Forms and have Users create accounts for others/for themselves with these Custom Capabilities with s2Member Pro

Not automatically, no. I believe there are some hacks for having this happen in the forums somewhere. I would check this subforum:
