Hi,

I am looking to buy pro for the card payment functionality. my question is not related to that.

I want to make sure that I, as the admin, can approve all memberships, payed or not.

If so is there clear instructions on how to setup response emails (i.e thank you for registering, your membership is currently being reviewed and we will get back to you shortly) and how to put these restrictions in place.

Thanks

Looking through the forums it seems there is no way to do this, however the additional plugin Wp Approve User (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-approve-user/) appears to be an option.

Can anyone confirm that this is the way to go?

thanks

Hi Adam,

You are correct that there is no built-in account approval process in s2Member. If you wish to manually approve accounts, we recommend assigning all users to Level 1, paid or otherwise, and then manually approving them by editing their account and changing their level to a higher level (e.g., Level 2). The action of changing their account to Level 2 effectively “approves” the account. All of your content would be protected to Level 2 or higher, so that new members don’t have access until you approve their account.

You can also try using a plugin like WP Approve User. Since s2Member uses the WordPress user base and authentication system, it should work. However, we make no guarantees. The best way to find out if it works is to try it. :)
