Hi,

I’m the owner of a developer license for quite some time now and never got around actually doing anything with s2member, now I’m in the process of building a multi-lingiual online shop based on WordPress Multisite (one new site per language).

First I wanted to use wp e-commerce because they state they are fully compatible with a multisite envinronment, now that’s a lie to say the least, and after some initial testing I found that the only solution for me to be able to use wpmu would be s2member, as I remember from previous testing I’ve did that it worked like a charm with wpmu.

I already know that it’s possible to use s2member as a shopping cart, and also how to do that.

So my only question would be regarding order management, for example someone orders my product from the German shop, or the US shop, is there some kind of central location where you can see the new orders from ALL stores? Or will someone have to log in every single store and check for new orders (memberships)?

Would it be possible to mark customers as open, pending, shipped or something like that?

If both these things are not possible, would it be relatively easy to code, or more something that would take ages to program?

Thanks!

Hi Marc,

s2Member is a membership plugin, not a shopping cart system. While it has features similar to a shopping cart (and it can certainly be extended to work like a shopping cart), its primary features are based around the concept of an active or inactive membership. That means there is no concept of orders, order history, open, pending, or shipped.

All of the source code for s2Member is provided and you’re welcome to extend it however you like. Other s2Member users have made similar modifications (even plugins that add shopping-cart functionality), so you may want to get in touch with them.
