Sign ups were working fine. We decided we wanted to add a terms page requirement where the user had to check a box that they read the terms before they could purchase.

In “Registration/Profile Fields & Options” we added a required checkbox field saying that the user had read the terms. The “Unique ID” of the field is “terms”.

Now, when a user signs up, their item_number and ccaps get set to “terms”.

Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

From the log:

‘item_number’ => ‘1:terms’,
‘ccaps’ => ‘terms’,

Hi Jon.

You seem to have added “terms” as a custom capability in the shortcode for the button/pro-form… Could you post here the shortcode you’re using, please?

Thanks! :)

The shortcode seems fine.

Can I have a look at the s2Member admin and the logs? You can send the site’s info using the contact form: s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Sure. What info do you need? The WP sites admin login?

Yeah, for the admin and the FTP, please. The form has the fields for them. Thanks!

Thanks Jon.

I reviewed your installation and found a transaction that mentioned the “terms” ccap. Saw it was the $49.99 plan, so I looked for the pro-form that sells it to look at its shortcode, and it does include the ccap.

[[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level="1" ccaps="online_fitness" desc="$49.99 Per Month / 6-Month Program" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="USD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="www.inspiredfitness.com" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="49.99" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="2" ccaps="terms" accept="paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo" accept_via_paypal="paypal" coupon="" accept_coupons="0" default_country_code="" captcha="0" /]]

You can see there’s a second [hilite mono]ccaps[/hilite] attribute there, which gives the “terms” ccap. Removing it should fix the problem. And I’d recommend that you go over the other shortocodes to make sure you don’t have the same elsewhere.

I hope that helps. :)

Strange. The shortcode was never changed. The only thing that happened was a new custom field was added. Would that cause shortcodes to change? I wouldn’t think it could change the shortcode that was put in a specific page.

Don’t know what did it. Creating a custom profile field for the “terms” certainly didn’t. Maybe when you created the shortcode with the generator, in the custom capabilities field, you entered “terms” by mistake? In any case, it’s a good thing we found the problem. :)
