Hello,

I noticed when I test to Download an Mp3 File it automatically opens up in Quicktime in a new Window. Is there a setting where I can change this? If not, the user will have unlimited downloads and I won’t be able to keep track of it.

Also, how can I hide my download links? When I hover the mouse over them I can see the source file.

Thanks

Any support would be appreciated!

Hi Johnny.

Could you show me the URL or shortcode you’re using for the link?

It doesn’t really matter if the URL to the file is visible, since the file would only be served to those that have the proper access to it.

About the file opening in QuickTime, what’s the behavior you want? For the video to open in an embedded player in the page, or a download to start?

Are your files in Amazon or in the s2member-files folder?

I am still new at this….sorry…just got s2member a few days ago.

It’s an mp3 file so I don’t want it to open in Quicktime but have the user download it directly.

I was messing up on the URL I should have done this http://mydomain.com/?s2member_file_download=example-file.zip This should find the files in those directories correct? Mydomain isn’t really my domain just using this for an example.

The files are in the s2member-files folder. Should I put them somewhere else?

Everything was going smooth then I could figure out how to make it work……

I checked the source code on this website: http://barbangerz.com/new-releases/ and they are using s2member this is EXACTLY the type of website I am building. Hopefully someone can help…

Thanks!

Right, ?s2member_file_download=example-file.zip would give the file s2member-files/example-file.zip.

s2Member serves files as an attachment (download) by default, unless you specify the extension to be inline. Please read the documentation here and tell me what your setting has: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Inline File Extensions[/hilite]

I just copied what the example was

“htm,html,pdf,jpg,jpeg,jpe,gif,png,mp3,mp4,flv,ogg,webm”

Johnny,

You don’t want files to be downloaded inline… inline means it will try to load in the web page or in the default player. Try removing everything from Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Inline File Extensions and testing again.
