I need to add a terms of use section on the checkout page. We are giving our users a direct link to the checkout page (s2member pro form) and before they are allowed to hit submit form we would like them to have to checkmark to agree to our terms of use. How is this possible? Do I have to edit the templete directly and if so can I have some direction on this modification?

I really need to host this terms of use agreement on the checkout page and not the registration page as described in another post. The reason is that we are giving the link directly to the pro forms to our users to make the process very simple for them.

EDIT: As an example when checking out with s2member to buy the pro version it asks “Yes, I want to receive updates from s2Member® via email”. I basically want this, but for it to say “Yes, I agree to the terms and conditions on this site located here.” and for the submit form button to not be allowed until this is checked.

Hello Jeff,

Have you checked this article?:

Hope this helps. :)

I have checked out that page, but it adds the agreement on the registration page. We need it to be on the checkout page (i.e. the pro form page).

s2Member Pro Forms (via Custom Registration Field)
If you’re using s2Member Pro with PayPal Pro Forms, or Pro Forms for Authorize.Net integration, the simplest way to accomplish this is with a Custom Registration Field that you configure with s2Member. In your Dashboard, under: s2Member -> General Options -> Custom Registration Fields, you can create a Checkbox field that is required, and in your description of this field, you can even include HTML code that may provide a link to your Terms/Conditions. ~So this is pretty simple, because your site is already integrated with s2Member Pro Forms. In other words, checkout occurs on your site! Very simple.

I don’t understand what the problem is. This adds it to the pro-forms, so whatever pro-form you have you will be able to have this.

Eduan,

That’s not correct. It only adds the checkmark to the a “Custom Registration Field” on the registration form. It does nothing to the actual checkout form (pro-form).

Here is an example of what I’m trying to do with screenshot:
Link to example as seen at s2member.com checkout.
As an example when checking out with s2member to buy the pro version it asks “Yes, I want to receive updates from s2Member® via email”. I basically want this, but for it to say “Yes, I agree to the terms and conditions on this site located here.” and for the submit form button to not be allowed until this is checked.

All right, I think I’ve figured out the problem.

I tried doing it, and as you said the field doesn’t appear, until I tried logging out of the website completely, at that point the field did appear. So try logging out (or using another browser) and check if it works that way.

Hope this helps. :)

Right, as Eduán said, try being logged out when you view the pro-form. The pro-form will show the custom profile fields when the user is registering his account. If the person is logged in, then there won’t be a registration and the custom profile fields won’t be shown.

I hope that helps understand that behavior. :)
