Hi Greg. Do you have the s2Member framework (the free version) installed? This is required even if you’re using s2Member Pro, which doesn’t replace the framework, it adds features to it. Please read these: Make sure that when you upload the plugin via FTP, you don’t have an extra s2member-pro folder created when unzipping it. You should have /wp-content/plugins/s2member-pro/pro-module.php I hope it helps. :) |

Hi Greg, Did you upload the s2Member Framework via FTP too? If not you might want to ensure that the permissions for the s2member-pro file that you uploaded are correct (should be 775), and that something didn’t go wrong with the upload, causing the files to be corrupted. Try checking the s2member-pro/pro-module.php file. It should start with:

I changed the permissions to 775 but still not working. Is there any way to Re Download S2 member pro that way we can see if that is the problem. |

Why is it when I am uploading the S2Member- Pro folder it does not show as S2 Member Pro it stays as S2 Member it uploads fine but its overwriting other S2 files is this correct. Here is the path /public_html/wp-content/plugins/s2member…………………. (no Pro on the end) |

If the folder is s2member, then it’s the framework. The Pro add-on’s folder would be s2member-pro. If you upload s2member-pro, then s2member would not be overwritten. I recommend that you first remove from /wp-content/plugins/ the folder that you’ll be reuploading. So if you’ll reupload s2member-pro, remove the one you have there first. Sometimes when overwriting, old files could be left, and that would not give a clean installation. |

What are the extra applications that come with Pro so I can check the plugin on the dashboard to see if I already have Pro running. |

You could try the suggestions here: Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips And if that doesn’t help, please send me the site’s info so I can look at it, please. s2Member® » Private Contact Form |

7 days have passed no response returned from private contact form. I think I have been more then patient after purchasing a product which I haven’t been able to use. One would expect at least immediate attention to this problem or issue a refund. |

Sorry Greg, I wasn’t aware that you had sent it, it must have been one of those days when a ton of emails come into my inbox and your must have gotten pushed to 2nd or 3rd page and I missed it. And with no new reply to the thread here, it didn’t come to my attention when taking care of the forums either. I’m sorry. I looked for your email and found it. The dashboard login didn’t work, but I could login to the control panel’s file manager. In the public_html folder I found the wp-content folder, so I went in there and then the plugins one. Found the s2Member folder and the s2Member Pro has its name wrong, which would cause it to not become active in WP. It says “s2 member_pro” when it should be “s2member-pro”. Please fix the name and see if it becomes active in your dashboard. Also in the public_html directory I also noticed a folder named mind2driveacademy, so I checked it out in case you were using that for the membership, although I had found s2Member already. In the academy folder I also found s2Member, but just the framework, the s2Member Pro folder wasn’t even there. Please upload the folder, named as it’s in the distribution zip (i.e. s2member-pro) and see if you now see it active in the dashboard. I hope that helps. :) |

Hi Cristian, But I tried once more on a new domain and presto it uploaded no problems. Thanks for your help, It might make sense to compile a list of various plugins or what ever else causes problems with S2 for future situations like this. |
