I’m trying to avoid uploading files to Tradebit that are already uploaded, and protected, on my own server.
Is there a way that I can use my s2Member uploaded files that are on my server, on Tradebit, to avoid uploading doubles? Can I use s2Member security enabled files away from my server?

Rather than upload my files onto two servers, I would prefer give Tradebit external URL’s that will allow purchases to be downloaded regardless of where the files are stored?

I would really appreciate some help. Thanks

Hi Blake,

Yes, you can generate URLs to your s2Member-protected files that contain a File Download Key, thereby allowing access to those files without logging into your site:

A File Download `Key` is passed through this parameter; it tells s2Member to allow the download of this particular file, regardless of Membership Level; and WITHOUT checking any Basic Restrictions, that you may or may not have configured above.

Please see Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Advanced Download Restrictions for more information.

Yes, just as the video tutorial explained..
I am having troubles understanding how to place the link.. Does the ‘Key’ need to be anchored within a document, or is the ‘Key’ okay with being placed anyplace?

I tried to paste a ‘Key’ in my browser address bar but I was given this error–> “503 ( Invalid Key ): Sorry, your access to this file has expired. Please contact Support for assistance.”

Here is what I pasted:

http://skullofskill.com/yousopoor-store/?s2member_file_download=m3mb3r5h1p5/3a5y.d3al/3b00k5/BoozeBasher.zip&s2member_file_download_key=<?php echo s2member_file_download_key("m3mb3r5h1p5/3a5y.d3al/3b00k5/BoozeBasher.zip"); ?>

“m3mb3r5h1p5/3a5y.d3al/3b00k5/BoozeBasher.zip” <–Product location as seen in security enabled directory..

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your help Raam. Your knowledge is much appreciated..

Hi Blake.

[hilite pre_code]

[/hilite]

That’s PHP, so it won’t work in your address bar. You’d have that in your WP page/post and it’d generate a new key each time the page is loaded. For PHP to work in your page you need to install a PHP execution plugin, e.g. PHP Exec.

Or you can use the shortcode to output the download key, or the full URL to the file including the key. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Advanced Download Restrictions[/hilite]

[hilite pre_code][[s2Key file_download="m3mb3r5h1p5/3a5y.d3al/3b00k5/BoozeBasher.zip" /]][/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)
