When using wp multisite does that use single s2member pro or unlimited?

If you’re gonna use s2Member in a multisite network then you need to buy the network support license, the most expensive one in other words, which would also give you a special version of s2Member designed for multisite networks.

Will Users/Members be able to create their own blog on your Network? If so, you will need an s2Member® Multisite Network Support License. If not, an Unlimited Site License will be enough.

With an Unlimited Site License, we will provide support for multiple instances of s2Member® Pro across multiple Child Blogs within your Network, as long as you are the Administrator for each of these Child Blogs.

If you run a Multisite Network, but only intend to run a single instance of s2Member® Pro on the Main Site of your Network, then a Single Site License is sufficient.

Multiple instances = Unlimited Site License
Single instance = Single Site License

If Users/Members will be able to create Child Blogs on your Network, then it won’t matter how many instances you intend to run, this absolutely requires an s2Member® Multisite Network Support License.

I have started two community sites (separate wp installations) with buddypress. On the first wp installation (not multisite) I installed s2member and upgraded it to s2member pro (http://comcentre.moretonbay.biz), where I plan to give the community groups their own areas and forums. On the second site (http://macleay.moretonbay.biz) (I have installed a wp multisite and installed s2member (free). I then upgraded my s2member membership to unlimited sites and went to install the s2member pro on to the free s2member installation. It failed as it could not find the installation. Two questions:
1. How do I install the s2member pro onto the wp multisite?
2. With this s2member pro installation, will it enable the groups and clubs to have their own blog area?

The installation of s2Member and s2Member Pro is the same for a Multisite Network.
Please follow the instructions on this page to get both s2Member and s2Member Pro installed.

Yes, that is certainly possible. s2Member® can allow Members at different Levels to create Blogs on your Network. s2Member® does not limit this to just groups and clubs, it is based on the Membership Level that a User/Member has on your site. See: Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Multisite (Config)

This will require an s2Member® Multisite Network Support License however, because you will be making blogs available to your Users/Members through the s2Member® application. If you would like to receive support for this, please visit your “My Account” page here at s2Member® and upgrade to a Multisite Network Support License.

This article from from WordPress.org may help you with this. You will need to delete the site that you have currently, but WordPress does have functionality to help you transition your current site to your WordPress Multisite installation.
