Sorry, I’ve been offline for a day or so. Yes, that is correct… I’ve deleted the s2member-files folder that was within the s2memberpro folder and kept the one outside and the download still isn’t working….

I have a page that is “locked” with the ccap hflbible and I have a link on the page for the download.

http://heartforlearning.com/?s2member_file_download=access-s2member-ccap-hlfbible/HLF-Bible-(c)-2012.pdf

Can you think of something else I’m missing?

Thank you :)

That is correct… wp-content – plugins – s2member-files – it sits outside the s2memberpro folder. There is one also with in the s2member-pro folder. The one within the s2member pro folder is where the files go when I put them on the server through my FTP connection.

I’ve looked at that article and disabled the gzip configuration, still not working. I’m still getting HTTP 404 error.

more thoughts…. :)
thanks

Thank you. You are correct in both questions above.

I changed the folder name to access-s2member-ccap-hlfbible and I changed the file name to HFL-Bible-(c)-2012.pdf. I tried using the URL suggested and I am now getting an HTTP 404 File not found….

I must also add, for some reason I have two folders on my server that state s2member-files. One is located within the hierarchy I described above (where I have the files sitting) and the other is located just outside the s2memberpro folder under (not within) s2member-logs. It has the exact same name: s2member-files with an .htaccess within the file. I also tried moving the s2member-ccap-hlfbible to this folder to see if that would work and it didn’t. I still receive the HTTP 404 error.

Thoughts… :)

Thank you so much for getting back to me :)

Hierarchy ~
public html-
wp-content –
plugins –
s2member pro –
s2member files –
.htaccess
hflbible (folder)
HFL Bible (c) 2012.pdf

the .htaccess within this s2member files folder – then a folder hflbible under htaccess and the pdf download (HFL Bible (c) 2012.pdf) within that hflbible folder.

I have ccap set up for hflbible for Level One and I plan on various ‘memberships” within Level One, thus the custom capabilities.

In the Basic Download Restrictions this is the link provided to me:

http://heartforlearning.com/?s2member_file_download=example-file.zip

So I enter this link:
http://heartforlearning.com/?s2member_file_download=HFL Bible (c) 2012.pdf.

I know I’m missing something and in fact I’ve tried various options including ccap or in the link code or even the subdirectory link examples.

After looking at the hierarchy, does each sub-folder need it’s own .htaccess or can that simply be lumped in the s2member-files where all the sub-folders with the ccap will go?

I’ve looked over the article you linked and I don’t know yet if that is my problem or if this is an error on my end. Thank you for your help. Melanie
