NOT HOLDING MY BREATH

BUT SOMETHINGS HAPPENED!

idk if S2 made a change or paypal, but my buttons are working again in the last 1 hour, i was able to turn the encryption back on in my paypal settings and buttons still work, I only noticed as I recieved my first s2member emails in a month letting me know of member signups (id stopped recieving these) so pray it stays! but it seems to have all gone back to how it was and working again! Also my join page isnt taking forever to load like it was during this month of issues.

So what actually did this big problem? paypal changed something in its code, an s2 update changed something? what?

And still no answer anywhere why in my s2, if i have encrypt on or off it generates the exact same button code, and it is unencrypted, as ive tried editing it myself and hacking the payment, so its not safe.

Im getting payments now through unencrypted code, the buttons for some reason are making my payment page take FOREVER to load (remove the buttons it loads right up) and the payments i do get most users dont recieve the follow on email to complete their signup

This plugin was perfect for a year!

Problems escalated for me. I had to turn off all encryptions to be able to get any payments again, yet half the customers arnt even recieving the email/link to complete their signup after payment, agh and the unencrypted button are making the page take foreverrrrrr to load, know its them as page loads right up if remove them. WHY o WHY s2? everything was perfect for a year! now it sucks, is this a ploy to encourage people to upgrade to S2 pro and other payment gateways!

If I click on those buttons it just asks me to log in to complete the transaction. This is different to the errors i get about paypal encrypted buttons etc on my thread

the staff member on that threat is talking about different issue than im getting, im not having cannot complete last action errors, paypal are saying my buttons arnt encrypted, so can only get them to work with all the encryption settings turned off. i think this is an error in the code generated by button creater perhaps, but the buttons worked for a year!

Yeah an example code is,

[s2Member-PayPal-Button level="1" ccaps="" desc="One Direction Fan Club Basic (Lifetime Membership) / £4.99" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="GBP" dg="0" ns="1" custom="onedirectionfanclub.com" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="4.99" rp="1" rt="L" rr="BN" rrt="" rra="1" image="http://onedirectionfanclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/price-basic.png" output="button" /]

I have had to turn off the setting for encrypted in paypal web preferences to get them to work, just wont work otherwise.

theyre at http://onedirectionfanclub.com/join

Yes, my paypal credentials are all correct, and were not changed at all.

No logging is not active as s2 recommends not to have it active on a live site, my sites been live for a year and working fine.

As far as I know i dont have any conflicts, i have tried deactivating all plugins and still experienced the same issue, I have also tried completely uninstalling s2member and deleting the folders and reinstalling it, made no difference.

Have also tried this on a fresh wordpress and experience same issue

Done all the troubleshooting tests and made no difference at all, theres no plugin conflicts or theme, server is fine, all is set up right as has been working a year, cashes cleared. No reason why one day it should stop working.

Yes the fix didnt work for me either. logged in or not my members get the error this seller does not accept unencrypted payments.

I definately think the code needs to be looked into, as I said regardless of my s2member settings the button generator generates the same code, whether i want encrypted or not, and the code IS unencrypted, as i tried editing myself and was able to change the payment amount to 1penny instead of what it should be. So Ive had an unencrypted button the last year and didnt even know obviously, or s2 has very bad encryption.

What should an ENCRYPTED button from S2 look like? can anyone show me theirs? Im struggling with all this, had over a week with buttons off my site now and having to do invoices manually. I did risk and try with the paypal set to unencrypted for a day, but had no notifications from paypal/s2 as to what members had paid for.

I hadnt seen these posts, have had exact same problem, always had all the encryption on, suddenly paypal starts not accepting my buttons saying theyre unencrypted.

Contacted paypal and recieved a message today saying,

“Have you checked to see if the certificates have expired? Most certificates only have a life of one year.”

Does this mean s2member has encryption certificates that may have expired? and so paypal isnt recognising them, I have noticed my site produces identical code whether i have s2member set to encrypt buttons or not, surely this isnt right? and might be causing problem
