I’m a “newbie” with s2member so I apologize if this is an easily answered issue.

I want to set up a “free forever” coupon code for my site to help generate traffic. This site only has one paid level. Ideally, they won’t have to enter any payment information. I’m using Paypal Pro and I bought the Pro version of s2member.

How can I accomplish this? Thanks in advance.

Hi Dean, from what i can read, there is no way to get something free with a coupon. The information is clear about that:

* s2Member will NEVER allow the Regular Billing Rate ( or Total ) to be less than: $0.01.
If you want to offer something 100% free, please use a Free Registration Form instead.
Either that, or you can offer a Free Trial Period in your Shortcode.

Raam, i read what you refered to, but i wonder if it is possible to get such a free registration but restricted by ccaps?

I’m not sure what you mean by “restricted by ccaps”. Could you please elaborate?

From what i read, this hack can set a free registration and it goes by level, but if i want to have a particular package that is determined by ccaps, and not levels, is there a way to do it?

Cassel, do you mean a free registration that also adds ccaps to the account? You can use the free registration pro-form. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Free Registration Forms[/hilite]

Does that help?

I think it does help. I see i can set ccaps there. Can this form be used if the member is already registered or does that work only for “first registration”?

Hello Cassel,

It works with all the levels if I’m not mistaken, as long as you offer something higher or extra than what they already have, otherwise s2Member won’t allow them to submit it.

Hope this helps. :)

Ah, if that is the case, then adding a ccaps would work! Thanks.

I never tried using the free registration pro-form for upgrading existing accounts, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work for that, since those aren’t registrations… Right, just tested to confirm that, it’s still a registration form. The Levels pro-form would work for the upgrade, but with a payment.

To do it without charging, you can create a script that’ll upgrade users that load a certain page and meet a certain condition, to add the ccap to his account using PHP. Knowledge Base » Changing Roles/Capabilities via PHP
