Hi

Do you offer a paid custom design service or recommend people that do?

I think I want to purchase s2 but would like the registration and login to take part inside a popup window and as far as I can see this is not something you offer (I could well be wrong!)

As a novice i don’t really have the skills to do it myself from scratch any ideas that could help? as S2 seems perfect for me but wouldn’t work unless i can figure out the popup.

Many thanks for any advice you can give

Do you really need a popup? You can use a widget with s2M pro that will allow the user to register directly on the page.

You can also use the registration form from MailChimp again, directly on the page if you add the s2M+MC plugin
(available here: http://krumch.com/2012/08/24/kc-bidirectional-integration-of-s2member-with-mailchimp/)

You can see how i integrated it on this page:

Just other options. But again, maybe you do want and need a popup for your particular site.

Hi Cassel,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I need a popup the main reason being is I will have some links (publicly view-able) that are only allowed to be downloaded by registered members.

I know the standard way would be to have them diverted to a registration page and back again but I want to keep the users journey as simple and smooth as possible (and now i have the idea in my head i’m kind of stuck to it like a dog with a bone – I’ve been searching for 3 days now to try and figure this out!)

Forbes.com do fairly similar to what i want to achieve (when you click the join me link top right) but i want this to appear when the user clicks a restricted link.

Thanks for the advice anyway, appreciated

If you use the widget, it stays on the page so no separate registration page.

As for the MC registration code, in my page i had to install it with disabled javascript due to a conflict with some things hidden on that page, but otherwise, it would also stay on the same page.

So if, you want to avoid having to visit the registration page and then finding your way back to the link/page, maybe those would be an alternative?

Howeve, if you get a popup, it might still be a great addition to your site.

Hi Cassel,

I see your point but don’t think the widget route gets across the message to entice as much as a popup would to the user ie to see the content that you just clicked you must register, if not just close the popup and continue with your journey.

thanks anyway

Hi m b.

I understand why you’d want to do the popup instead of being redirected to the Membership Options Page. I’m afraid that’s not the way s2Member does it, so you will need to customize your installation to achieve it. You can post a job for a freelancer in sites like jobs.wordpress.net, elance.com or odesk.com.

Hi Cristian

Thanks for your reply.

Alternatively to a popup can the registration page be in my theme (ie keeping the sidebars and header on) rather than going to a separate page?

Thanks

Ah, yes, that’s possible with the registration pro-forms that s2Member Pro adds. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms[/hilite] :)
