How can I setup individual Membership Levels that do not conflict with Mebership Levels 1, 2 , 3 as is

if a Customer buys Membership Level #3 they still DO NOT have access to Membership Level 1 and 2…

Thanks!

Instead of levels, which are building upon each other, use the custom capabilities (ccaps) where you can have then called “level 1”, “level 2” and such without really be levels, or you can call them A, B, C, or “music”, “writing”, “cooking”, whatever you want. Custom capabilities are a very powerful feature of s2M that allows you much more flexibility.

Check out the video on Custom Capabilities, at the bottom of this page for more information on ccaps.

Hi Johnny,

As cassel mentioned, you’d need to use the Custom Capabilities feature of s2Member. If you restrict content by Custom Capability, then only members with those Custom Capabilities will have access to the content, regardless of which level they are (that way you can give Level 2 and Level 3 users different sets of Custom Capabilities and Level 3 users won’t see Level 2 content unless they have the necessary Custom Capability).

Just watched the video it sounds like:

All the Membership Levels can be Level #1 but the CCaps is what makes the difference.

As In Level #1 – Option A, Level #2 – Option B, Level #3 – Option C

Is this correct so instead of have Levels it’s easier to have CCaps and specify what page each individual
member can have access to.

Right?

Yes, that is exactly the way it works and would meet your needs. And if you want one member to access TWO sections, then you grant the user both ccaps. It is that easy.

I think I got it…Thank you everyone for all your help!

Last one say there is a customer that wants 2 services…

Level #2 – Option A and Option B – how would I go about doing that

I thought of setting up Membership Level #2 with CCaps for both as in “optiona, optionb”. Will that work?

What is another way to do it?

Or would I still keep them at Membership Level #1 but make a new Paypal button that has those CCaps – “optiona, optionb” in the CCaps tag line?

Yes, that would work, but initially, you didn’t even need to use the different levels. If you use ccaps, you can use only the level 1 for everything. That way, you dont have to worry about which level to set the ccaps when you have multiples of them.
