Paypal Payments Advanced

Firstly, I’m sorry if this is already posted somewhere but I did search for a while.
I’ve been watching the videos while I set up S2member, and went to set up my paypal account.

The s2member videos mention Paypal Payments Standard and Paypal Payments Standard. I went in to Paypay and noticed they had a level not mentioned in the videos, Paypal Payments Advanced, which allows Ccard payment right on the site.

My question is, does Paypal Payments Advanced work with the free version of S2Member ? If I have to upgrade my S2Member, has it been tested with Paypal Payments Advanced.

Advanced looks pretty decent , it does everything Pro does except for virtual terminal but it only costs $5/Month

You mean Paypal Payments Advanced is different than the PP Pro account? The S2 supports anything and everything you want to do with Paypal. The only thing that V Terminal means to my understanding is that you manually charge the CC transaction. Nothing is automatic unless your using the Recurring option.

PP Pro is a fully automated gateway that you can use in the same fashion as another gateway such as Authorize or Quantum. This of course requires an SSL and dedicated IP to support the SSL.

Gaper, yes, PP Advanced is different from Pro. It’s only $5/month – if you go to paypal merchant services you’ll see the info on it there…

It offers on-site payment unlike Standard, but no virtual terminal which Pro has. Advanced would be a great fit for me since I don’t need virt term and it’s only $5/mo.

Oh wow! That’s really a nice upgrade considering I’m veering away from PP and have registered my own gateway.

Nice to know for another site I’m using for a normal shopping cart app.

s2Member does not currently support PayPal Website Payments Advanced, however we’re adding support for it in the next major release of s2Member, which we’re working hard to release as soon as possible.
