Ok, I think we can consider this resolved. Even though Paypal SAID our Reoccurring Billing was turned on and we PAID for it, I believe it was NOT turned on. Because after talking to them on the phone again today, they confirmed it was on, I tested again and it magically worked…hmmm…

So, I think we’re good. Thank you so much for your help. I truly appreciate that time you’ve taken.

Thank you for trying to help. I had already submitted that Private Contact form last week, but I will do it again. I also need to re-set up a membership with the reoccurring payment, as we have given up on getting this to work and simply made it be a one-time fee now. But we’d prefer it to be reoccurring. I will get that set up.

Thanks again for trying to help. We’ve grown very frustrated.

We just called them YET again and they insisted there is no such thing as Payflow Edition of Paypal Pro. They say Paypal Pro: Payflow Edition is the same as Payflow Pro. I don’t have any idea how to purchase something they say they don’t have. We asked specifically for Paypal Pro: Payflow Edition and we were told that is what we were getting. What we had originally was Paypal Pro, (and there was no Paypal Manager login) and you asked us to a upgrade to Paypal Pro: Payflow Edition and they said they upgraded us, yet there was no Paypal Manager link and the Error #1 was still occurring, so you asked me again to make sure we had Paypal Pro Payflow Edition and THEN they did something to our account which gives us the Paypal Manager login and they insist what we have is what we asked for. If we had Payflow Edition automatically, why didn’t it work with just Paypal Pro?

I asked Paypal this specifically and they reassured me they were one and the same. I asked them specifically for Paypal Pro Payflow Edition and what I got is Payflow Pro, which they insist is the same thing. At this point, I think we’re moving on anyway, since we can’t get it resolved. Thank you for your help.

Ok, just got off the phone with Paypal. We went over the configuration again and everything is fine. I also tested the purchase of a Membership using Mastercard that was a one-time payment and NOT reoccurring and it went through fine. So, my question now is…could it be the actual button itself? Here’s the code s2Member gave me when I created this Reoccurring Payment:

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level="1" ccaps="" desc="Facility Membership -- $24 per month" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="USD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="www.ibpsa.com" ta="24" tp="30" tt="D" ra="24" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="1" accept="paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo" accept_via_paypal="paypal" coupon="" accept_coupons="0" default_country_code="" captcha="0" /]

Can you tell me if this is correct? Could the issue lie in this code since it’s the only one we have a problem with?

Thank you.

Also, Paypal told me we have Payflow Pro, which is the same as Paypal Pro with Payflow. For what it’s worth.

Paypal told me I have Paypal Pro, Payflow Edition. I will contact Paypal again and ask about the points you listed above.

Can you confirm you received the private message with login info and logs I sent yesterday?

Posted: Tuesday Jan 8th, 2013 at 11:22 am #36584

Ok, I just used the contact form to send you several logs, referencing this Forum post. The product we are having this issue on, which is the only reoccurring payment product, is found here:

https://www.ibpsa.com/facility-membership-signup/?s2-ssl=yes

Thank you!

Ok, inside Paypal Manager it says Payflow SDK/API (Full Access), which is what they gave us when we asked for Payflow Edition. Is that correct?

Ok, I will use the Contact Form and attach the logs. Thank you!

Also, we have been receiving Error #1 from the beginning, not just since we added Payflow to our Paypal account. We were getting the error, presumably, because we didn’t HAVE Payflow set up. Then, once we got Payflow added to our account, we thought the problem would be solved, but it still gives us the same error.

Also, if you can’t help us directly by logging into our site and FTP, are there s2Member developers you can recommend we can hire for help?

Posted: Sunday Jan 6th, 2013 at 8:08 pm #36404

Sandbox testing is set to OFF. I’ve tried AGAIN to paste the logs using the code you gave me and it won’t let me. It says ERROR your reply cannot be empty.

I placed the code in between the

<code>I put the code here</code>

. Is that correct? I even tried it without the

and just used the first tags…still won’t allow me.

I’m beyond frustrated and considering finding a new way to accept memberships; we’ve been down for 3 weeks. Please can’t you look via FTP yourself if I sent you a FTP access?

Ok, I been on the phone with Paypal’s Integration Team, followed their instructions, followed your steps you listed above, created and entered the API Username, Vendor, Merchant, Password, Identity Token, etc., watched the video and I’m still receiving Error #1. User Authentication Failed. I entered my new Paypal Manager login credentials under the Payflow Account Details as the video instructed. Is there ANY way I can privately send you my Website login credentials and my Paypal info API info so you can check the configuration? It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve been able to sell a membership and I’ve got to get this resolved. I can try to resend you the log you need, but when I attempted to paste the log data into the forum’s entry field last time, it wouldn’t go through. Please help when you can, I’d sure appreciate it!

Ok, they got us set up with Payflow Edition so now I have a Paypal Manager. Not sure what to do now..LOL. Can you help?

Posted: Wednesday Jan 2nd, 2013 at 3:32 pm #36015

Ok. I just called Paypal and they show the account is NOT the Payflow Edition of Paypal Pro. However, they did say they have other ways of us using the Reoccurring Payments without PayFlow…but I’m assuming we need Payflow because that’s the method you use for s2Member?

I can have them migrate the account to Payflow Edition…and then I understand I will be entering the vendor info and NOT have to create a API Access, which is what I HAD been doing. Can you confirm?

Just confirm I need to indeed Migrate to Payflow and then I can at least get that done. Maybe you won’t even need to see the logs after that? Thank you!

Hi, i’m trying to paste the data into the reply field and then I select it and click the CODE icon, but when I click Submit New Reply, it says ERROR: Your reply cannot be empty. I’m not sure what the problem is. I’m just trying to do one file, and it’s VERY large. Could that be it? Any help would be appreciated, I need to get this fixed. I will double check if we have the Payflow Edition of Paypal Pro.

Hi sorry for the delay, I’ve been away. Ok, I went to wp-content/pluugins/s2member-logs and there are 7 files there. What do I need to show you? I have:

paypal-api.log
paypal-ipn.log
paypal-payflow-api-ARCHIVED-12-22-2012-1356156431.log
paypal-payflow-api-ARCHIVED-12-26-2012-1356519245.log
paypal-payflow-api-ARCHIVED-12-31-2012-1356923015.log
paypal-payflow-api.log
paypal-rtn.log

I am not sure what exactly I have, to be honest. I have entered the Paypal flow User Access info I created into the Paypal Options area. The checkout works great when choosing Paypal as my payment option, but choosing Visa or Mastercard is where I encounter the error now. Which of those logs do I need to open up and paste the contents of? Thanks again and happy new year!

Another update…I just tested it using my Mastercard and it did NOT work. I received the following error:

Error #1 User Authentication Failed
– Recurring Billing

What now? I can’t seem to get this to work! Thanks :)

Posted: Thursday Dec 20th, 2012 at 12:41 pm #35178

Update: I found the Payflow are and created a new API User Access. I entered that into Paypal options in s2Member and it went through when I used Paypal as a merchant. So, I’m no longer receiving the error, at least with Paypal as my payment option. Now, is that’s all that’s needed? What about when someone does NOT pay with Paypal and selects a credit card as their payment? Can I assume if it worked with Paypal it will also work with the other credit cards?

Posted: Thursday Dec 20th, 2012 at 11:44 am #35175

Ok, they “reset” my account and enabled DPRP and yes, I have Paypal Payment Pro and I accept Paypal and other credit cards. However, I am still getting the error on my product when I try to pay. How do I find out if I have Payflow Edition? I feel like I’m not getting anywhere…thanks for any help.

Thank you so much..I will give this a try. The only problem I see is the member providing the password to other people and they could access the secondary membership and sign up at the discounted price. Is there ANY way to connect the secondary membership with their primary membership. Could a custom field be added to the Secondary Membership signup form that asks what their primary membership is, so we can monitor these signups?

Posted: Tuesday Apr 10th, 2012 at 6:14 pm #10522

Hi again, I fixed the recurring subscriptions within Paypal thank you.

However, I’m still struggling with understanding what I need to do with the Custom Capabilities to add a Secondary Membership for members. I watched the 3-part video by Jason, but I think I need some help…

Based on my description of what I need above:

A Facility membership can be purchased at $150, and if they have several facilities that want to be members, they can add additional facilities using the “Secondary Membership” at a discounted rate of $100. They can only access the Secondary Membership signup via the Member’s Area once they sign up their primary facility. This is causing them to be “linked” though and the facilities are completely different businesses. We want them signed in as members before purchasing a Secondary Membership so someone that’s NOT a member doesn’t stumble across the Secondary Membership form on the site and signup at the discounted rate without first being a member.

So, to create the above scenario..

Do I now go to S2Member> Paypal Buttons> and generate the following:

$100 / Paypal Buy Now, one-time lifetime access (so they get a year’s membership for $100)

I’m assuming I don’t need Custom Capabilities as they relate to tags or categories, because I’m only putting this one one page…

So then I copy the button code..and here’s where I get lost…where/how do I integrate this?

I currently have a Secondary Signup Page within the Member’s Area with the following code:

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level="1" ccaps="" desc="Secondary Membership -- $100.00" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="USD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="www.ibpsa.com" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="100" rp="1" rt="L" rr="BN" rrt="" rra="2" accept="paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo" accept_via_paypal="paypal" coupon="" accept_coupons="0" default_country_code="" captcha="0" /]

But this doesn’t create a secondary membership…I need a Facility that has become a member, (but who might have a secondary business who needs its own profile and info in our member directory), to be able to purchase this secondary membership for $100…and then the main facility AND the secondary facility each have a login and can edit their profile, be separate in the Member Directory, etc.

Can anyone assist? I am happy to pay for help; I just need to get this integrated correctly.

Thank you!

Thank you so much! I will look into that. We’re also having a problem that apparently our membership was set up to Auto Renew and we want to now turn that off. I’m not sure I know where to go to fix that. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks SO much for your prompt reply; I really do appreciate it.
