We have talked to the new host, and the problem is the size of the process(es) around s2member. We even had them bump the memory limit from 64 to 128 on the off chance that would help. Running the server scanner was the first thing I did and all reports came back OK.

As it turns out s2member is also noncommunicative with Constant Contact — in fact it shuts down our plugin connecting to CC — so given the number of problems we’ve just switched to WPMUdev.org’s Membership plugin. Thanks for your time.

I saw that post, yes. The developer, Katz, is nonresponsive and all other searches including of s2members forums returned a result that you need to hire a developer to connect the two, I was looking for confirmation. As it turns out we are experiencing a very high server load with s2member also, so we have switched to WPMUdev.org’s Membership plugin. Thanks for your time.

OK…we have made those changes; is the error message below, which is now being generated every few minutes, of concern?

[Wed May 29 06:33:21 2013] [error] [client 108.56.228.151] SoftException in Application.cpp:256: File “/home/minds30/public_html/wp-content/plugins/s2member/s2member-o.php” is writeable by group, referer: http://sphynx.lunarservers.com/~minds30/

Sorry, please disregard. Just noticed that my search DID turn up the answer — need to FTP the pro folder up. Thanks.

GREAT, thanks. That’s the information I was trying to elicit and I was puzzled when the first reply to this thread said I’d have to import them anyway. Appreciate the help; sorry I had trouble finding it myself in the documentation.

BUT, users that already exist in those tables prior to installation of s2member are not part of s2member. Correct?

Thanks. When a user is created via s2member, does it add that user to the existing WordPress user/subscriber database?

Thanks for the quick reply AND for not making fun of me. :-0 So, from my website, when a user is ready to register, what will the visitor click to get to that page?
