Hi Bruce
Thanks for your reply but it doesn’t really help me. This should have been made clearer BEFORE I paid for the upgrade and obviously by the number of threads about it others also have the same problem. As we are a not for profit org I don’t have a budget for out sourcing programmers hence why I bought a plugin that was supposed to do the job. So I need to find a solution to this problem.

I looked at your suggestion for the shortcode but the “rp” does not allow me to place a finite date:

rp=”1″ Regular Period. Only valid w/ Membership Level Access and/or Independent Custom Capabilities. Must be >= 1 ( ex: 1 Week, 2 Months, 1 Month, 3 Days ).

This means I would have to edit the button continually and that would be a ridiculous work load. Have I read this correctly?

So can you please confirm if I have this correct or not as work around that I would only have to do once a year:

If I create a Paypal button with a “One time non recurring 1 year access” that it will place a date one year from the purchase date as the EOT.

Then if I mass update all the users on the last day of our financial year ie 30 June that their access will automatically change to Free Subscriber.

Then if they renew their membership it will create an EOT for another year?

Thanks Crisian but I’m no programmer. I wouldn’t know where to start.

Maybe in the future s2members could have a free form email that we can put our own text in, utilise the db fields and send it to selected levels of membership. Perghaps it can go on the wishlist?

Any other ideas are welcome.
Cheers

Thank you :)

PS I found a neat little plug in to exclude pages.

Hi Raam
Thanks again for being so patient but what about Point 2 – the Upgrade Page:

Point 2
The members aren’t upgrading they are already say Level3 they just haven’t paid online before. Will that matter?

Will it make any difference or will they just continue at that same Level?

Hi Raam
Thanks for that. Sorry but I am still a bit fuzzy on:

Point 1
Generate and send them a special Registration Access Link: Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Registration Access Links

Don’t they have to have a Paypal ID for this?

So I have create the other form:
Create your own registration page using a Free Registration Pro-Form (Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Free Registration Forms),

But how do I “hide” it from everyone else if I publish it? – sorry this is probably a really basic question.

Point 2
The members aren’t upgrading they are already say Level3 they just haven’t paid online before. Will that matter? And same as above I would like to hide it after publishing.

Again sorry to be so dense.

Hi Christiane

I ahve manually edited our membership to correct them for two reasons. Firstly the amount of time it has taken to get a response has meant our site was incapacitated which was unacceptable and secondly I am not prepared to download another program to our system for a one off operation.

I am a little disappointed in the response time especially as I had to chase a reply – even if you were thinking about the issue a heads up would have been appreciated. This shortcoming short have been made clear BEFORE I purchased the plugin – not after, so far two problems for nil practical solution.

Hi Raam
There were no error messages it said it had updated 135 members – but it didn’t change anything. It should have updated the membership levels from level3 to level0 on about 50 and added address details for all of them.
Here is one line from the csv file:
“5”,”soosie999″,””,”soosie”,”jobson”,”soosie999″,”soosie@soosie.com.au”,”http://www.soosie.com.au/blog”,”s2member_level4″,””,”12/02/2011″,””a:3:{s:5:\level\””;s:10:\””1343288141\””;s:6:\””level3\””;s:10:\””1343288141\””;s:6:\””level4\””;s:10:\””1345450813\””;}””””,””,”06/30/2013″,””,””,””,””,”addr1″,”2 Fisher Street”,”City”,”WHITE GUM VALLEY”,”country”,”Australia”,”phone”,”9840 1149″,”thestate”,”WA”,”zip”,”6162″

Hi Raam
Thanks for the reply but won’t that double my members? Sorry to be so dumb. :)

Hi Cristian
Can I ask another question – I can’t seem to find any docs about it – how do I tell the system when the memberships are due? Especially the existing ones?

Hi Cristian
Luckily the first plugin I disabled brought everything back BUT the plugin is Site Notes which I have been using to create a training manual for my “apprentices”. I run an community org and have been encouraging our members to paticipate in the running of our site. Site Notes was brilliant it created heirarchical pages that appearded in the Dashboard as a manual. Now that I can’t use it because of s2members any suggestions of a work around or other plugins that won’t conflict with s2member?

All help greatfully received!

Cheers Soosie

Hi Cristian
I am using 2011 theme and I will deactivate each plugin (OMG) to find the issue. I’ll get back to you as it will take a while.
