Is the name of the role always ‘s2member_level1’ or ‘s2member_level2’ or is the role name related to what label I gave it in the dashboard?

What is happening is when wordpress multisite is enabled it registers new members with wordpress only and not with the blog they are signing up for. In my case I have one main site and I wanted to use the network to create mini sites for users to get on without having to login again. This in combination with buddypress doesn’t register the user with the main blog.

I overlooked this message that doesn’t appear until you have said yes to sending emails.

BuddyPress: please note that BuddyPress does NOT send this email to Users that register through the BuddyPress registration system. This is because BuddyPress sends each User an activation link; eliminating the need for this email all together. However, you CAN still customize s2Member’s separate email to paying Members. See: s2Member -› PayPal® Options -› Signup Confirmation Email.

Can I request that this become an option for S2 Member to take over the email process for new users with BuddyPress.

Is S2 Member not able to capture the activation key that gets sent? That is the only issue I could see as a problem for this process.

I overlooked a note in the tab that says S2 Member does not send the new user email with buddypress active because of the activation key. I’m still looking for a solution that fits my needs.

The “Welcome Pack” plugin looks the most promising although I will have to edit the core to get it to pull submitted user data.

SB Welcome Email Editor also looks like a promising plugin but I couldn’t get it to work. As expected.

I’ve gone through this help doc and still have not found the source of the problem.

Can someone explain what S2 Member is supposed to do? Disable the BP account activation email? or send an additional message?

I have tried deactivating all other plugins and activated the default buddypress theme. Still no email.
