I tried adding the the %%item_number%% and %%item_name%% replacement codes to the “Administrative New User Notification” in both the subject and the message but neither appears in the email. What am I missing here?

Thanks, Cristian

Isn’t there any way to do this? It seems like such a simple thing? I just want to see immediately when I have a new member what level they are. (Without having to log in) And if they have any CCaps

(and it would also be nice if the new member saw in their email “your ‘Platinum’ Membership is approved” not just the generic “Membership is approved”)

The Aweber new subscriber notification email includes:

Role: s2member_level3
Level: 3
CCaps:

But I can’t rely on getting that because they’re subscribed automatically and the rule with all auto-subs. is they must double opt in first.

Thanks for replying so quickly, Jason.

Definitely not a canonical issue. Tried my dev / test WP install with the free vers. of S2 and got the same problem.

Then decided to try logging in to a couple of other WP sites with IE and same thing! And those sites don’t have any membership management programs running!

I started looking around and it seems that there a quite a few people having the same or similar issues with WP and IE so certainly looks like it’s not an S2member problem, and at this point I’m not going to bother trying a default install – If that’s what it would take – forget it.

I uploaded that crossdomain.xml file (didn’t help) then ran the auto configure and after a couple of errors it took, but then I found the crossdomain.xml file was overwritten and corrupted again so I manually deleted and reuploaded my own again.

Still no streaming – but, I later discovered after much reading that I needed to set basic download restrictions!

I hadn’t bothered as I didn’t know if I was even going to use any download links and I didn’t associate streaming with downloading.

Now it works, since I set some restrictions, but I’m still curious about what was happening with the crossdomain.xml file. Such a simple little file.

Hey Bendix,

I think I can answer this for you (and then maybe you can help me with my issue)

Are you trying to stream over RTMP to an Iphone or Ipad? (in a .swf container?)

I’ve done a lot of research on this already and apparently if you want to stream to Iphone / Ipad it can only be through HTTP streaming and no flash or .swf – And of course the file has to be MP4, which you have. (Mac has no problem with flash and RTMP, only the Ios)

They have what sounds like a special tongue-n-cheek for this: Cupertino Streaming!

I think there’s a way to use the HTML5 player and HTTP streaming together (through cloudfront) but I don’t think this can be secured very easily yet. Hope I’m wrong on that. I want to do it too!

Allen
