yeah I meant, in paypal-central-ipn.php – I’ll have
1. IPN listener URL of my invoicing software
2. IPN listener of s2m -> mysite.com/?s2member_paypal_notify=1

right?

Cool thanks!

And in my multiple IPN script I’m gonna use mysite.com/?s2member_paypal_notify=1 right?

Quick question about implementing your solution:

If I just copy sc-paypal-button-in.inc.php into the mu-plugins folder will it override the original file in the s2member plugin folder? Or is there anything else I need to do for it to work?

Thanks!

Thanks for the help Bruce!

I must say, it’s pretty awesome how you guys come up with solutions for anything that comes up, one of the reasons I stick to s2member.

Would be awesome if you could add this to the next update so other people can enjoy this as well, perhaps just adding an input that allows the user to define a separate address for IPN (maybe the url of your multiple IPN script).

I tried the “Payment notifications” to make sure that all payments are invoiced. It doesn’t seem to work.

My guess is that it’s is because the invoicing software expects IPN*, while the notification sent by s2member is in a different format or something.

Note that the invoicing software does appear to work with a multiple-IPN kind of script that I have for others sites (that are not based on s2member).

P.S.

* I’m not a big expert on IPN but I would assume there’s also and element of sending back data to paypal for authorisation/confirmation or something, right?

If I am right about this, would be cool to have a IPN forwarding option as another type of notification. I would assume it’s just pluging in the multiple IPN script into the plugin… (right?)

Thanks Bruce.

I need to hit 2 url’s:
1. s2member site(s)
2. My invoicing software.

When I create regular buttons for my landing pages that do not use s2member, it’s all good, I just set the notify_url parameter on the button to hit my multiple IPN script, which forwards the notification to my invoicing software, and to my custom CRM to log the purchase.

However, for my s2member sites, the problem is:
1. I can’t change notify_url on a per button basis, because the s2m shortcode doesn’t support it, and uses a default address for all buttons (http://mystie.com/?s2member_paypal_notify=1).

2. Changing the default IPN in my paypal account to a multiple IPN script does not help, because it is overridden by the s2member buttons which automatically use http://mystie.com/?s2member_paypal_notify=1 as the notify_url, and as I mentioned, I can’t change that.

To clarify: the address in paypal’s settings is never ever pinged/notified, because it gets overridden by s2member buttons. So I can’t figure out how to notify my invoicing software when there’s an s2member transaction.

Thanks :)

Adam

Ok, my bad. Seems like Using NeoOffice screwed up the format somehow. Used textmate to edit the exported file and it worked fine.

I’ll give OpenOffice a try now (textmate won’t cut it for importing 50+ members…)

That’s a very good idea. I think that’s what I’m going to do.

Cool thanks!

Is there a better way you think I can achieve this goal (free membership to site X if you get a membership for site Y – assuming they are both based on s2m)?

If I export 1000 users to a separate site, what would be their default password for the new site?

I guess I can do that. Can I have a free membership level without allowing people to sign up for the free membership?

Just thought about this – is it possible to manually* change users to non-paying members so that after 2 months they keep their memberships?

(this way I can keep EOT on for the trouble makers ;)).

* highlighting manually here, as I don’t want them to be automatically demoted etc.

Thanks for the input Paul!

Personally I don’t even expect the aff module to handle automatic affiliate payments. I just look at the reports and pay affiliates manually (of course, personally I haven’t reached a point where I have so many affiliates that this is a problem…. I guess it’s a good problem to have :))

Hmmm at the risk of sounding stupid… I get to the pricing page (even from the menu). Am I missing the contact form on there?:)

Just looking at iDev now, I already can tell you one thing: It takes WAY too much tome to figure out how the whole thing works, what it supports and how well it integrates with s2m. Pricing isn’t clear, plans aren’t clear, addons are expensive (and very unclear – what do I need, what can I skip). All this would make me assume their support is bad, but I would just not spend the time it takes to find out.

Time is way more expensive than money, imho, and so I just thought buying amember would be much better than trying another 3rd party solution (and it was, installing was really quick, and I had no reason to assume their built in aff solution would not be compatible).

Alas, the final result was lost sales and even more time lost begging for support.

I swear, if you presented me with a page that only says “here’s an s2m affiliate modul, it works, don’t worry about features, just pay up and start using it” I’d pay twice what iDev are charging.

The time spent researching, reading about installation and integration etc is just so expensive.

Don’t remember why I skipped idev but I remember I decided it’s not for me (I must’ve had a good reason, trust me ;)).

Wp affiliate -> got awesome support, and the dude even developed a feature I requested, however, it failed all my testing and after hiring the developer who made it himself, he gave up, said he has no idea why it’s not working for me and refunded my money :(

If I develop anything on my own, would you guys be interested in working it in or endorsing it? (I’m not interested in another 3rd party solution, I’d like to build something that integrates into the s2m panel seamlessly and exclusively).

Awesome.

Can you help me figure out the EOT thing? I noticed the choice is between delete & demote, how can I set it to “keep them as they are”?:)

Also would it be possible to set this up so people who finish the cycle (2 payments) get to stay, but people who don’t make the 2nd payment get thrown out?:)

Thanks,
Adam
