If they can give us OUTPUT of the tracking code call (the URL with variables in it), we can pinpoint the issue immediately.

Any chance I can get an output?

I have no idea what they mean

I got this email from IDevAffiliate…

Any chance someone can look into this (or am I able to) I am going to try another test post today…

I click on Incoming Traffic Log in the left menu of your admin center and see the tracking log opened with the correct IP (99.104.165.3). Then I triggered a commission from the tracking pixel code and it is inserted into the system as it should be. This verifies the iDevAffiliate side of things are setup properly. The tracking and commission processing function is working properly.

The problem is going to be on the S2 side and will be one of a couple things.

A) You didn’t click an affiliate link prior to doing your test purchase.

B) The URL set to be called from S2 is wrong.

C) You’re using a secure checkout with https in the browser and the call is using http (insecure call will be ignored).

D) The S2 call being made doesn’t have a matching IP (talked about by S2).

E) Your website/server doesn’t have CURL enabled on it (I believe they make a CURL call in the tracking pixel).

If they can give us OUTPUT of the tracking code call (the URL with variables in it), we can pinpoint the issue immediately.

Thanks!

Yes, it would be very helpful to be able to re-send an email or to have some sort of backup link where they could still register and be “included” in the system so that when or if they cancel, the system would be notified rather than it being manual.

Thank you Jason.

I will contact them and see if they can figure it out as well.

So, having this “advanced Curl procedure” should be okay?

Posted: Sunday Mar 24th, 2013 at 10:36 pm #45615

Hi Eduan,

thanks for the follow-up. Please note: I switched to using the “advanced” integration with s2member as recommended in the videos (using CURL). If you (or Jason) think I should go back to the “easy” method again first, let me know. I’ll change it and repost here. I asked IDevAffiliate and they said I shouldn’t use CURL or that method. Either way, both didn’t work, BUT in the S2member tutorials, it says the CURL method is much better…

This is the button I use for the sale: [s2Member-PayPal-Button level="4" ccaps="" desc="First Class Membership / Full Access + Deal Alerts / Quarterly Recurring." ps="paypal" lc="" cc="CAD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="www.XXXX.com" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="37" rp="3" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="1" image="http://www.XXXXXX.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/37optionCFF-e1361320573973.jpg" output="button" /]

This is the tracking code I put in s2member: http://www.XXXXXX.com/idevaffiliate/sale.php?profile=83&idev_saleamt=%%amount%%&idev_ordernum=%%txn_id%%&idev_option_1=%%item_name%%&idev_option_2=%%subscr_id%%&idev_option_3=%%cv0%%&ip_address=%%user_ip%%

Can @Jason maybe help?

I contacted IDEVAffilliate and they said they will look at the back end but only after S2Member looks at it since it mostly deals with S2member I guess.

The account I used to buy my product as a test – I cancelled today as I needed to refund the amount back and I got this in email:

The API file (terminate_commission.php) tried to remove a commission and couldn’t.

Reason:
– No commission was found with the provided order number.

Not sure if this helps at all….

I have emailed them as well. It’s crazy how hard this is.

I followed your advice. I erased the last code I had in S2member from the generate generic tracking pixel.

This time I followed the ADVANCED strategy instead.

In order to get my profile ID, I used the integration wizard.

But then I used all the methods from ADVANCED.

I then created a new affiliate account as a test. I used my own computer, which resulted in a unique hit. I purchased.

But again, no sale recorded.

I dont get it

I just signed up another affiliate (test) and sent the link to my girlfriend. She clicked on it via email and purchased my product.

It shows in my IDEV account that there was a click. But the sale did not show.

Is this an easy fix?

Ppppplease… it’s been 40 days now and I still can’t use Idevaffiliate.

It is tracking clicks but not sales.

Can I get some help with this :)

Posted: Friday Mar 1st, 2013 at 11:23 pm #43569

Thanks

Just realized I did install that plugin 2 weeks ago and low and behold, no record of those emails being sent out from S2Member….

The weird part (we’ll, there are many) is that this doesn’t happen to everyone though and yet, this appears to be a problem with S2Member or the server….

Another question….

If say my only option is to manually add them. If I include their I.P address when I create a username for them in s2member, will that track them? so if when they cancel, s2member will auto cancel them?

Same with Mailchimp?

Posted: Thursday Feb 28th, 2013 at 9:38 pm #43446

hmmm, yea that would be great.

It’s really turning out to be a big problem. Some people get them, some don’t.

If the only way to fix it is that I have to either:

a) tell them to cancel and sign up again: this creates annoyance for them and probably many lost customers…

b) I manually add them in, which means I need to pay attention to every person that unsubscribes or cancel payment so I can go in manually again and erase their account. Because if I manually add them in, then technically they aren’t being tracked anymore by S2Member/Paypal…

Another person today said they didn’t get the email either :(

Thank you for the reply and sorry for being late :)

I did ask them about the junk mail but they said they did check. In one case, I had the guy cancel the subscription and do it again. second time worked for him. So I refunded the first one.

But obviously, this would be a problem is it happens often.

In all cases, the subject claimed they did not receive any email. This means they did not get the email from wordpress welcoming them into the program and directing them to create a user name NOR did they get the one from mail-chimp which I believe they have to click a box in the first email from wordpress to get.

So Im wondering: If this happens again, isn’t there a way to simply resend the “welcome” email with all this info?

It seems very troublesome to have to make them cancel and try again… or for me to manually add them in (which means if they cancel, I would have to manually take them out as well)……

Thanks! That did work as I can now have my own custom image.

However, this brings up another question.

When I simply upload an image to wordpress and then add a link to the picture, I can arrange the picture to be centred and/or I can also adjust it so the text is to the right of the picture rather than below it. I can also change the size of the picture by just changing the width and length within the “code”.

But now with these buttons, I dont seem to be able to move text to the side of the image and I dont seem to be able to center the images either. When im looking in Visual mode in wordpress, it still displays the code and not the image.

So I have no idea how to simply place the text to the right of this image button.

Does this make sense?

Wow , this helped.

Thanks for the advice :)

For some reason, even that step is not working anymore. Members can no longer change passwords themselves… Do you know why this is happening?

Posted: Friday Nov 9th, 2012 at 11:17 pm #31183

From what I see, I could add them in to the backend of the WP users and do it that way but I would personally have to create each of them a username and password… time-consuming big time… Plus, how do I enter their paypal details so S2member erases them if they ask for a refund, etc?
