Hi Christian,

Thanks again for your help, I have got it all working now and after a bit of trial and error I came up with the code:

<?php if(S2MEMBER_CURRENT_USER_REGISTRATION_DAYS >= 1){ ?>
Follow the link to your page:
<p><a href="http://mysite.com/index.php/<?php echo S2MEMBER_CURRENT_USER_LOGIN; ?>/">My page</a></p>
<?php } ?>

This link is somewhat different from the link you would enter in the general-options/login-welcome-page customization tab mentioned in the video you sent me. That link only works when you set the program to re-direct the user to their own page on login. If you do not use the link I have shown you above as a hyperlink and you use the link used in the login-welcome-page options then you get a “not found” error. It may be worth mentioning if you guys ever update that video. Still, no complaints, it certainly got my brain working!!! lol

This works perfectly so now I can now do exactly what I was looking to do. As a gesture I have now purchased your pro package a little earlier than I was going to. I expect that in the customer support forum I will be able to get your help any time. Great stuff!

By the way, I have found a plugin called “Nmedia file upload” another great plugin. It does not upolad files into the secure folder (S2member-files) but it can be used on any page and will only show the current user’s file uploads (based on their unique user name). They can also download them again or delete them, and on their wp-admin-user page it lists all of their files for me to download and/or delete! I could almost get rid of the idea of having individual pages now! I just need to find another way of delivering the other feature that I had planned for the individual pages.

The thing I like the most about S2member is that it teaches you how to use php as you go along. Great stuff!!!

All the best, and thanks again,

Mark.

Hi alex,

You would have to use Awebber or something else to manage your emails. Are you planning a mailing list? You could also try the WP-Autoresponder plugin, you will find it by typing in “autoresponder” in the search box in your wp-admin/add-new plugins page. Note that you will also see a plugin for using the first plugin with S2Member.

I have not tested the WP-Autoresponder myself and to be honest you would be better off using Awebber as it integrates with S2Member and you will be using their bandwidth for your html emails and not yours as you would with the free plugin.

Hope it helps,

Mark.

Thank you Christian,

I have watched the video and now think I know exactly what to do. My login-welcome page is set using php code to show different content to members at different levels and is all working perfectly so from the idea I have from watching the video I think that I can now simply use some more php to display a link on the relevant form of the login-welcome page(

<a href="http://mysite.com/%%current_user_login%%" >My page</a>

) a day or two after the member has signed up which will give me time to manually add each page.

Again thanks for your help, I will be upgrading once I have finished building my members area.

I want to use the individual members page for file sharing. My clients should have the ability to upload pdf’s, mp3’s, mp4’s, images and documents in order that I can quickly download them to use on their projects. I know that this could all be done by email if they sent me their media directly but I want them coming back to the site regularly!

Can you think of a plugin that would suit my purpose there? Is there a plugin that would integrate with S2Member for members uploading files securely? I have tried a few that do not work.

All the best,

Mark.

Hi,

After looking into your requirements a bit more I think that the forum problem can be overcome by configuring s2 member to work with your other site. I have looked at my control panel and seen that you CAN do this, you need to set up your WordPress sites for multi-site networking. The rest you will have to get from the tutorial videos and online instructions from within the plugin as I have had no use for this feature myself. At least you know that it will definitely work!

You only need to go pro if you want the check-out to work on your site (pro-forms with PayPal pro account)

If you are happy with the standard PayPal checkout and do not want to accept cards yourself then if you upload the “Sidebar Login” plugin by Mike Jolly your subscribers can register and log in on the front end of your site. This independent plugin has been tested by S2 member.

The one-off purchases are no problem at all, you do not have to assign membership levels to these downloads, you just assign the download page a custom capability instead that way the buyer does not even have to be a member to buy one of your products. There are video tutorials on this too.

I think that if you try it out it will be worth it. The best advice I can give you is to watch the tutorial videos before you even start, spend half a day on this and you will get loads of ideas I promise.

I started with limited knowledge of HTML and with the information and tutorials within S2 member I am using almost as much PHP as HTML on my pages now!

All the best….

Hi,

The answer to your question is YES! S2member can handle all of what you are looking to do. You only need to create one level. You can create all of the buttons individually to cover all of the options above. If you do not want the people on “Subscription#1” to be able to see the pages for “Subscription#2” vice versa and so on, then you just assign a “Custom capability” to each Paypal button or form.

Or you can use three levels of membership and your login-welcome page can display different links to your downloads for each level of membership. All of the samples of code required to do this are in the s2 member dashboard in WP-Admin.

Yes members will be directed back to your website to sign in after checking out at Paypal, then to your login-welcome page where you can have the links to the files.

You can have the forum on the other website nested deeply with no links to it in the menu (use the “Exclude pages” plugin to do this) or anywhere else on the site and then a link to it from the login welcome page on your s2member site.

If this is all you are looking to do then you will not need the woocommerce plugin at all. If the woocommerce plugin is using an API at Paypal then you would not be able to use it as you need to set up an API for s2 member.

I do not think that S2member relies on IP to upgrade members. Your members can easily upgrade from free subscriber to level 1. There are videos to watch on this subject within your s2 control panel. You just need to create the right button or form.

Hi again Christopher,

The answer to your problem is to use a text widget with a list of links for your members. You can use a php script to show a banner or something instead when the user is not logged in. you can also apply this method to producing your front end sitemap. You will find the examples of codein your s2member control panel. Make sure you haveExec php installed.

Hi Christopher,

There is a plugin that you will find in WordPress written by Simon Wheatley that has always served me well and that is called Exclude pages from navigation, (just type in “Exclude pages” into the search box on the “Install plugins” page in your admin panel, it should be top of the list).

The plugin – xml sitemap generator for WordPress 3.2.6 (Google xml sitemap generator) has an option field where you can input comma delimited url’s that you do not wish to include in your sitemap.

I hope this helps you.

Mark.
