Thanks for your patience Cristián. Thing is, s2member is so big that sometimes I cant see the wood for the trees!

Anyway, I reverted the MOP to a normal public page, added a sign-in as opposed to a registration page and moved the registration to a separate wp password protected page. Works fine. However…

on the MOP, I am using MOP vars to redirect the user to the original requested page. Having echoed out

esc_html (site_url(base64_decode($_g["_s2member_seeking"]["_uri"])))

I realised that the url was being incorrectly constructed – so what should be http://www.domain.com/news/?page=25 is coming out as http://www.domain.com/news/news/?page=25 – (2 news directories) Now I am pretty sure this is to do with the fact that my wordpress install is not at root but in a subfolder called ‘news’.

Thing is I cant work out where to alter this short of using php to alter the string.

Any help appreciated.

Am I going to get a follow up?

Thanks for the reply Cristián,

Problem is we dont want the MOP page public as we only let members sign up by invitation. It makes life a little easier as we can send out a url and a generic wp password that we can change now and then. Unless of course you can suggest a better way :-)

It would make life easier if I could work round this. What do people do if they dont want people to have the ability to sign up without invitation/authorisation?

Well sussed it a bit more Cristián. Thanks for replying by the way.

This url is going to the membership signup page (MOP? which is correct behaviour by the look of it) which in this case is password protected using native wp setup I believe. We only want the signup pages available by invitation.

However, what I was trying to do was create a link to a post that is in a s2 protected area. This newsletter is only going to members anyway. What I really wanted was that if the link was clicked and the member is not signed in, they would redirect to the s2 login page.

So, looking at docs at the moment, but if you can enlighten that would be great.

Thanks

HI,

thanks for replying :-)

Unfortunately, they are public visibility posts.

OK, so logging out has nothing to do with s2member?

Thanks very much for the reply, that worked perfectly.

Thanks Eduan, that is great.

OK, conditionals work well for me. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for that Cristián. Yes this is the same for me now.

Which is really interesting because, I really want to be able to block the existence of a post to anyone not properly logged in to the correct level.

Say I want to title a post ‘10% Discount For Platinum Members’ I really dont others to know this might even be possible (fictitious case :-) )

So, I am just generally browsing I don’t want unauthorised people to see the post at all? Anywhere.

Thanks Raam,

Support threads here are answered in the order of last response, so posting multiple times kept putting you at the bottom of the queue.

OK, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that I didn’t actually add to the post until after 20 hours. And, I can think of a number of ways to query a database and get back threads that are not complete and where the client was the last to reply.

Anyway, the server test script threw up a safe_mode problem which was great. However, it didn’t resolve the s2member problem. I appreciate that it has been tested and tested, which is why I asked for some 1,2,3 basic post setup.

Anyway, I have now sent off the site details as per your last para.

Thanks for the help.

Do I really need to keep complaining about the lack of response/support? I am pretty appalled at the lack atm.

Would someone please pick this up?

I really need to resolve this. I am up against a deadline today. I need more than one reply every other day. Can we progress this?

Thanks for the reply Raam. Just to answer your questions.

I did make sure I was logged out.

I have configured two membership options pages and referred to one of them in the Membership options page. (I have two. One for each free level that will be invite only) – No payments involved.

I restricted the posts initially by choosing the option level in the actual post edit/creation section admin using the dropdown on the right. However, I noted that the ids were automatically dropped into the General Option > Restriction Options > Post Access Restrictions section with the correct id’s.

I have deactivated plugins and switched to the default theme and still have the same problem.

I can give a url, but would prefer not to post on a public forum?

To answer my own question. Password protecting my registration pages now appears to be working… Weird.

So, lets consider this closed unitl I get stuck again.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I had seen this post already, and it does answer the first part on how to set up two registration pages for the different levels.

Once that is done, I am only able to associate one page as Membership Options Page. Does that matter?

So, I suppose the next question is how do I make them not generally searchable or available on the site other than as a link? I tried to password protect them (ideal solution) but that appears to only pertain to comments?

Yes to you both. Thanks a lot. Going to give it a go.

Thanks Eduan,

so I can put it in my client’s name? It just needs to be assigned to my client?
