I disabled all plugins except for s2member. Still the loop. I was going to try to disable my cloudfront distros. But this did not seem to fix which surprised me…. Are we sure the certificate is installed correctly by my host? Even though my host told me the issue is with s2member/Amazon.

OK, I need to test this. My site is setup with s3 and Cloudfront, prior to s2member for speed. Doesn’t that mean that the whole site loads, at least in part, via CDN? I may be confused over how it works. Update: my stylesheet loads via the CDN so not sure how I could create any posts/pages not using the CDN…. I created a new page. Gave it title “test” and the force custom field, and same redirect loop error. I disabled the caching plugin and the redirect loop remains. Will try other plugins and theme…

Bonnie, I may be having similar issues. You can see my other posts. You add this as a custom field to your wordpress page (or post), as shown here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Custom_Fields#Usage Unfortunately when I add this I get a redirect loop, though I suspect mine is a conflict between Amazon’s and S2s… |

Question – how do I restrict prior existing “subscriber” users from even logging in? I want to keep them available only to level0 or above but s2 seems to equate subscribers to level0 level content? |

Finally got plugin installed/activated with the plugin creating the two folders -logs and -files, so write permissions should be fixed. I will email you the log now. |

As I continue to try and troubleshoot this on my own since the lack of replies from support, here’s my latest confusion: In my own language: Can I direct my existing cdn.mydomain.com to point to all 3 cloudfront distros? My host tells me that doing so will break things? Not sure if this will fix my redirect loop or the stylesheet problems. |

You guys are a little over my head but I think I may be having similar issues. I am not sure I need https for anything other than my credit card entry page (paypal pro form). I also am using Amazon Cloudfront/s3. When I created my paypal pro form on my site it was not using an https after my certificate was installed so I used the custom field (per s2member instructions) to force https on that page. But this seems to create a problem (I think a conflict between Amazon’s cdn ssl & my sites) and results in a redirect loop. Further if I remove the custom field, and instead manually type into the browser “https://” prefixes in front of my site’s URLs all the formatting is lost as the stylesheet fails to be pulled from an https URL. I don’t have cnames set yet pointing to s2member distributions on Cloudfront, I don’t know if that will solve my issue. My reptilian brain just thought maybe there’s a setting somewhere in Amazon Cloudfront that could disable https/ssl for a specific page in my WordPress site so I could use my own ssl certificate there, but I could be tragically confused. |

My host tells me they gave the plugin write permissions but I dont have a -logs or -files folder in the plugins folder. How do I make sure those can be created properly? |

Ideally a popup or similar that allows you to login from the menu, but I guess a link to a login form is OK. |

OK, I think these are issues with Amazon S3/Cloudfront. The css/stylesheet seems to not resolve (when adding https manually on the site) and is being called on page load from an https. I think the redirect look is probably the same issue, my site’s ssl certificate is being seen as redundant to Amazon’s? I am in unfamiliar territory. Do I need to configure the download options for Amazon CDN even though I don’t plan to offer any downloads in the file/save-as sense (the other sense being the download of webpages for viewing like web browsers do all the time)? Or are there settings in Amazon I need to configure?

I notice I do not have a s2member-files and s2member-logs folder in my wp-content/plugins folder. Perhaps a permission issue? Is there somewhere that shows all the permissions I need to give the plugin? My site’s hosting company keeps a lockdown on many permission settings.

When I add https:// to the front of my membership options page, the page seems to lose all its css styling and comes up like unformatted html. Same is true of the homepage. I’ll contact my host if they have any ideas. |

I think this (the custom field) is redundant? s2member directs to a https Paypal form anyway after submission? Wait maybe not for credit card purchases, maybe only for Paypal checkouts.

Dumb question but then how could you add the login as a menu item then? |
