hi John,

i sent you an email 2 days ago. did you get it? here is the email that i sent you. please let me know if you have any more questions.

———————————————————————————————————————————-
Hi John,

Thank you for contacting me regarding the plug-in that I had developed to be able to accept 100% free coupon codes or voucher codes in S2 member.
The plug-in works in conjunction with the participants plug-in which is used to manage user groups. I had the extension plug-in developed so that I could accept and verify coupon codes when entered as into a coupon code field on any page or post, as a shortcode.

At the moment I don’t have a demo setup for this particular plug-in however I’m using it in one of my membership sites. Please let me know if you would like to see a demo or maybe I can shoot you a short video and show you how it actually works.
As for the cost of this plug-in it would probably be around $40.
The participants plug-in is free to download from the word press downloads directory.
However the extension that I have had some the functionality to be able to verify the coupon codes against the database. I have to tell you that the coupon codes database does not become part of the S-2 member users group. The participants plug-in has its own database therefore when someone comes to your website and inputs their name e-mail and coupon code this information is stored and then SQL database which you can access within WordPress admin area. If the coupon code has been already entered or is wrong a message will be displayed stating that the visitor has entered an invalid coupon code. Your error message can be customized with your own text. The way I had it done is that the coupon codes are only used once and then are not valid anymore.
The coupon code input field is the primary field that is checked against a database of coupon codes that you can mass upload to the admin area. You can also enter a coupon code one at a time if you wish.

The other form fields such as name e-mail or any other custom fields are optional and can be changed and customized for any particular application.

Please let me know if you think this will work for you and I will set up a test site on one of my URLs so that you can get my hands on idea of how the plug-in works.

P.S. have you used the Amazon cloud front services with S-2 member? I’ve been trying to set this up for one of my membership sites and when I placed the short code at shown any examples nothing shows up on my page. Just wondering if you had any experiences with this set up?

Thank you and have a great day.

Sincerely,

Marco Rodrigues

As many of you have already discovered, S2 member does not allow 100% free subscriptions to be set up without going through the payment gateway and making a one cent charge.

I have developed a stand alone extension plug-in that works in WordPress in conjunction with S-2 member that will allow 100% free subscriptions using coupon or voucher codes. The plug-in will also allow name, e-mail, city, or any other custom field to be captured into a separate database of users.

This custom coupon code plug-in will redirect the user to a custom registration page if a valid code is entered, and if the coupon code is invalid then an error message will be displayed on the page.

This custom plug-in will also allow the importation of mass CSV coupon codes so that they can be redeemed when a user comes to the website.

If you would like more details on how to obtain this plug-in or would like to see a demo page please e-mail me and I will be glad to assist you.

Thank you.

hi Bruce,
thank you for your response to my question. I have created the PayPal Pro form link as you showed above however when I click on that custom link for the registration page it takes me to a registration form that has the same look as the login form.

Is there a way to customize this custom registration link so that it looks like a regular WordPress page?

Here is the link to the site so you can have a look if you need to:http://yogameditationcourse.com/members/wp-admin

Please let me know at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.

Hi Cristián,

how long will it be until the next release of S2 member? i am currently dealing with a few developers in Odesk to develop a plug in that can do this? i am wondering if it is worth it if the new release is a short time away!

thank you.

Hi there,
I has intensively looked for solutions for accepting coupon code to voucher codes in your S-2 member plug-in so that the user can be redirected to the registration page upon entering a valid coupon code and avoid going to the PayPal payment gate.

I have done quite a bit research online and trying to find a plug-in for Word press that handles coupon codes in a manner that would accomplish the above tasks however I’ve been unable to come up with anything.

My question is do you know of any plug-ins out there that can handle coupon code or voucher codes a WordPress and redirect the user to the registration page?

After careful examination of your plug-in I have to say that I’m impressed with the possibilities for customize edition that exist within the S-2 membership plug-in the only issue that I see is the lack of the ability to accept registrations from voucher codes stored in a database.
I am looking at ways of doing this at the moment however I would like to know if you have any other solutions other than the ones already discussed in your form?
Please let me know at your earliest convenience.
Thank you and looking forward to response.

Hi Cristian,

thank you for the reply however i did not see anywhere listed before i bought the s2 pro plug in that free coupons were not allowed and that groupon codes like were not easy to set up. unless i can come up with a suitable and easy to implement solution to my issue with setting up voucher codes in s2 pro i will request a charge back from my credit card company.

i am sure they will more than happy to refund me the money i paid for something i cannot use without spending more $$, perhaps a lot more to pay a programmer to customize your code.

I will look around to see if i can find something I can use with s2 member to make it work for me. i am not the only one who has this requirement and honestly i dont understand when you guys would not build something like the free coupons into the plug in, after all for a programmer its fairly easy. the paypal thing is just an excuse because why would you checkout a customer thru paypal if they have a 100% free coupon. just redirect them to the user set up page and that’s it.

the article links you sent me are useless as i have already read them and they don’t really help much form a practical standpoint.

please let me know your thoughts before i call my credit card company.

thank you.

hi Josh,

thanks for the reply. i am sure it can be done like you have done it. i could probably tackle it myself but it would take time i don’t have right now. i could also get someone from Elance to do it but again might be costly.
i think for now i will stick with what i am using. in future i might look into it myself.

do you think i will be able to get a refund? there is no direct way of contacting anyone related to this site so i am a little turned off by that.

thanks again.

hi Josh,

do you know a way to make S2 work with 100% free coupons? is there an easy way? I would consider using it if i could get around the coupon issue. technically the 100% free coupon should not go thru the gateway to pay. it should just validate coupon code and email the login details if successful.

have you been able to do this?

thank you.

Hi Josh i went with membership from wpmudev.org. its a great plug in if you get the pro version and it allows coupons as well as voucher number to be validated without going thru the checkout process. each plug in has its own pluses and minuses.
i ended up sticking with the membership one from wpmudev.org and i am asking for a refund for the S2 pro. still waiting to hear back though!
Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more details.
