/registration is just a page that contains the s2Member shortcode, as below:

*IMPORTANT!*
If you have already registered but can't yet login to access the digital resources, please BE PATIENT! Your registration is most likely awaiting approval! You will be notified once your book registration has been checked, but this is not yet an automatic process so it can take a day or two to get sorted out. If you desperately need access to your materials, please email <a href="mailto:administrator@dsmusic.com.au">administrator@dsmusic.com.au</a> and we can attempt to fast-track the process for you.

Thanks!

The content on this site is provided for customers of our books. Once you have bought a book, you can access the online resources after logging in. If you have already purchased one of our books and would like to register to access your online resources, you may do so below.

To register, you will need your Unique Book Number. This can be found on the inside of the cover, on the bottom right of the title page.

We created this page manually; it was not added by anything else. Any page we put the registration shortcode on breaks like this. This has worked fine until some point in the last couple of days, I’m not exactly sure when it broke or what broke it. Please help!

That’s the error message you get when clicking the “Add new” user option in the Dashboard. Registration page still comes up nearly blank, as reported before. I tried replacing that file from the WordPress 3.6 .zip download; didn’t make any difference, neither did reinstalling WordPress. Haven’t tried reinstalling s2; thought I’d wait and see what you guys wanted to try in case it broke it badly!

Sorry, it’s not user-add-new, it’s user-new.php.

Error is here:
The website encountered an error while retrieving http://dsmusic.com.au/wp-admin/user-new.php. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

Hi Bruce,

While digging around today, I also noticed that the “Add new user” dialog within the Dashboard is broken as well – gives a “Could not retrieve file” error for user-add-new.php.

So I did some more digging around; reinstalled WordPress, started deactivating plugins and whatnot… Deactivating s2Member Framework fixed it :) Well, not really. Obviously that doesn’t fix it, but the page loads correctly and the dashboard add new user function works with s2 disabled. I’ve sent through another reply with an admin login for you guys to check it out inside the page; have left s2 on for now, so that it will continue to manage content properly for now.

Thanks,

– Andrew

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly :)

I’ve tried –
Deactivate/reactivate (couple of times)
Delete folder from server, copy new one over (as per upgrade instructions, couple of times)

with no luck :(

All of the admin interface is showing fine, the settings are still all in place, we’re just not seeing any of the actual page integration coming up.

Thanks Eduan! I’ll look into those links in more detail shortly but quickly for now – how can we customise or see the email that gets sent on membership upgrade?

Thanks,

– A

Another question for you!

Can a checkbox be placed into a registration form that will assign CCaps based on the checked items?

So, box has options 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 – user ticks 1, 3, 5 and is assigned CCaps “1,3,5” accordingly upon registration?

Hi Cristián,

Thanks for your reply – much appreciated.

What I’m going to do is let anyone register at Level 0, requiring input of the code in the form, which we will then manually review and upgrade access appropriately. What I’d like to do for the file downloads is protect the files at Level 0 with CCaps, and apply the appropriate CCap to the user after review, so those that qualify get access to the restriction section of the page, others can simply download the file if they have the right code.

I do remember seeing a guide on setting up download folders based on CCaps but can’t find it anywhere – are you able to help me there, please?

The other thing I’d like to figure out is – can I change the descriptions of the standard fields on the user registration form? For example, changing “Username ( lowercase letters and/or numbers ) *” to say “please use your email address” or something similar – is there somewhere in s2 to control this? Or is it the built in form for WordPress?

Thanks!

– Andrew
