In my other post I point you to the hack required to sell the product from other sites that aren’t the one where s2Member is.

Or are you having trouble even completing a transaction when selling it from the same site?

If so, could you make sure you have logging enabled and do a test transaction with the test card CB gives you? Then please show me the log entries from all the log files in your s2member-logs folder (even if the file has “paypal” in the name). [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite]

Do you get the signup confirmation email from s2Member? Are you able to register an account after purchasing access, and does it get the correct level you paid for? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Options -› Signup Confirmation Email[/hilite]

Thanks.

Hi Emily.

s2Member’s control over what’s shown in the BuddyPress profile pages is limited to the s2Member custom profile fields when you enable that integration from here: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields -> BuddyPress[/hilite]

To show other kinds of field, you’d need to check with BuddyPress so they tell you what would be needed.

I hope that helps. :)

Great! Thanks for the update. :)

Gene, I imagine you watched this video, right? Video » s2Member® File Downloads (Remote Auth/Podcasting)

Maybe this article helps with your app integration too? Knowledge Base » Remote User Status (Custom API)

Here’s a post by Jason on remote authorization with some suggestions that may also help: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/http-remote-auth/#post-24703

I’ll forward this thread to Jason to comment on the problem you’re reporting. Could you please submit your site’s info in case he needs it to investigate the problem? s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Thanks!

No, there isn’t that yet, but you could take a look at a hack Bruce posted to show the user’s EOT time in the users list and see if you can customize it to show the user’s IP instead.

when I click the “Thank You Page” URL, it shows the error:

ERROR: Unable to verify POST vars

When sent there from ClickBank, CB sends the POST vars expected, but they are missing when you load the page directly in your browser.

I created a clickbank button shortcode to place on http://www.website.com/new-installation but it doesn’t show up there (presumably because it is on a fresh installation).

You need to create a little hack in your installation with the ClickBank integration, so you can link to that and have it forward to the URL generated by s2Member using the shortcode. Please read this post: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/using-clickbank-and-paypal/#post-11438

I hope that helps. :)

No, others have just done the if/else code, since they only had a few links to check, not as many as you.

If you query the database, you could get all the s2Member ccap capabilities the user has, and link to the pages based on that. Since each ccap would match a single page, it’s easy to know what pages to link to. s2Member ccaps are regular WP capabilities with the prefix [hilite mono]access_s2member_ccap_[/hilite].

Your solution solves the existing user issue! Cool!!
Your solution also solves the page permission & packaging issue! Cool!

Great. :)

No, s2Member would not return a 404 for a protected file, it’d redirect to the Memberhsip Options Page as with any restricted content you don’t have access to. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Membership Options Page[/hilite]

If you’re getting a 404, first make sure the file is actually where the URL you’re using points to. Are you using Amazon or the s2member-files folder? Could you post the URL to the file? (It’s okay if you don’t use the actual domain name.)

Hi Mike.

If you delete the coupon from s2Member, then it won’t work anymore for new purchases. The existing subscriptions created with that discounted rate, will continue to be charged at that rate, though, because the new payments are not processing the coupon each time, that’s the amount that was entered to the payment gateway as the regular amount, so it’s what the gateway will charge each time. If you had used ta-only, then the discount would have applied to the initial/trial term, but you applied it to the regular amount.

Hi Ananda.

Are your list IDs entered correctly in the s2Member integration with MailChimp? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / List Servers -› MailChimp®[/hilite]

And if you test with the double opt-in, do you get the confirmation email from MailChimp? When the user doesn’t show up in the list, I’ve seen it’s been because the user hasn’t confirmed the subscription yet. If you add the hack to disable the double opt-in, though, it’s hard to tell if the hack’s not working and the user just didn’t confirm, or if the hack is working and the problem is something else. Could you remove the hack and try a test registration with a different email address, so you get sent the confirmation email and can test this?

Ah okay, thanks for explaining it. I’m sorry, but s2Member doesn’t include those features you mentioned. You may need more than one plugin to add them all, even some custom coding probably.

By the way, Mary, I saw now why the Billing Address section is coming up in the pro-form: you have configured taxes in s2Member, so the address is needed to know which rate applies. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Tax Rate Calculations[/hilite]

When I upload my user data to chimpmail, which was downloaded via s2member

when a new “test” subscriber registered for my blog, the only info that got recorded in the list was the email and the first and last name.

Laurie, so are you having this problem when a user registers and gets added to MailChimp by s2Member based on the integration you configured in the List Server API, or are you talking about importing the users list to MailChimp using their interface?

Yes, it’s possible with custom capabilities. Please watch these:

I hope that helps. :)

Cheryl, just in case it happens again, do keep logging enabled so that, if needed, we’ll have the log entries for the transaction with the problem. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite]

Posted: Thursday Nov 29th, 2012 at 1:05 am #32865

Sure, please send the site’s info and I’ll take a look and do a test transaction too. s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Thanks. :)

But if they’re different products, then the item number would be different for each, there wouldn’t be overlap, right?

Posted: Thursday Nov 29th, 2012 at 1:02 am #32863

No problem. :)

Thanks for the update, Malin! Glad you could find the issue. :)

Like Raam said, you can use a PHP conditional instead, if for some reason the shortcodes combination is giving trouble.

Thanks again, Mary.

I had password protected it so I could do the test 1 cent purchase, but not leave it exposed for others to use. I raised the amount to 500 again and removed the password protection now.

I see you have no other plugins or themes and the problem’s still there. I’ll ask Jason about this now, I’ll forward him the login info so he can review this. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back from him. :)

It looks like a JavaScript problem, the payment info fields should not show if you have PayPal selected.

Could you deactivate or delete the custom theme from the test installation, leaving only the default one that comes with WordPress? And if you have other plugins active, deactivate them too, please. Test after each deactivation/deletion, to see if the form goes back to normal, please.

Well, you could try with HostGator, I know many site owners using s2Member host with them.

I don’t have a hosting account there to facilitate your test, or I’d be happy to set you up so you don’t need to sign up with them to just test this.

Or maybe you have a friend with a hosting account somewhere that isn’t with BlueHost, that would let you do your tests there?

Thanks Mary!

Okay, I looked at it and I then tried your shortcode in my test installation, and can confirm that the displayed pro-forms are different. Yours shows the Billing Information section, which shouldn’t be there, since you’re only accepting payments through Express Checkout, which collects the billing information over at PayPal’s site.

I saw that you deactivated the custom theme, but I’d like to test removing it from the installation. I didn’t do it myself because, although it’s most likely not your only copy, I thought I should ask you first if it was okay. Could you delete the optassess_dec2a theme and leave only the default one? I wonder if, although not active, it’s influencing the site in some way.

By the way, I changed the amount of the shortcode to 1 cent and fixed the custom attribute to use the test installation’s address. Was planning to do a test purchase, but the pro-form’s problem displaying that section should be fixed first.

I’m not sure, I’m not experienced with Google Analytics. But if GA has a variable you can use to identify the product in some way, you could enter the item number as its value.

Supposing the [hilite mono]google_conversion_id[/hilite] is the one to use, then you’d do:

[hilite code]var google_conversion_id = %%item_number%%;[/hilite]

Joe, were you logged in to this free user account when you loaded the page with the pro-form?

Also, could you post the entries for this same transaction from all the log files? Thanks!
