Hi Ade. Upgrading is painless. s2Member Pro is an add-on to the framework, all the things you had set up with the free version will still be there and then you’ll have some more to play with. I don’t think it matters the order with s2 or BP, haven’t heard of any particular issue regarding the installation order. I hope that helps. :)

Sorry, I don’t really know much about that, haven’t tried doing it. :/ Did you try the WordPress forums or Google? Just did a quick search and browsed some pages, and one possible reason may be a plugin causing the author to miss from the dropdown, or you may need to add another capability, but I don’t know what other reasons there are or which one is causing you that problem. Like I said, I don’t know about that one, but I hope that tip helps. :) |

We will make it possible for s2Member to work better with other scripts, like a shopping cart, but that doesn’t mean that we plan to bridge the userbase between to separate scripts. If you need to bridge a shopping cart with WordPress so you only have one authentication, then you’ll need to search their forums or Google. s2Member is a content access manager, it’s not a usebase bridge between WordPress and other scripts or a single sign-on solution. So, if you use a shopping cart that is a WordPress plugin and works within WordPress, s2Member can be used to manage access to it using the URI restriction. I hope that makes it clear now. :) |

Should not be hard to do. I don’t personally know how to code JavaScript, but I know this shouldn’t be hard. I’m glad you like s2Member! Thanks for using it, and we’re glad to have you as a user. :) |

Ah, just checked it out and I think I saw how it works. It’s not that it clips a part of the video to show as a teaser, it shows the video and after the set time it removes the player using JavaScript, but the file will keep streaming actually. If the person gets the URL to the video, he would be able to download the whole thing. It’s not the safest way to protect content, but better than nothing. s2Member’s file protection will be much safer for you. I hope that helps! :) |

Got ya. Too bad the signup process is complicated then, the teaser is a cool feature. :) |

Hi Shayne. If you find a shopping cart that works within WordPress, then you can try protecting it with s2Member’s URI restriction. I hope that helps. :) |

Hi Martin. s2Member doesn’t have a video teaser feature. What theme is that? What you can do is create a teaser video for each of the full length ones, with the latter protected by s2Member so only users with the right access can watch them. If your users are already in WordPress, you don’t need ot migrate them to work with s2Member, since s2Member works with WordPress’ user system. If you need to bring them over from another system, then you’ll be able to use s2Member Pro’s import tool.
If you have their password unencrypted, you could import it, but in case that isn’t possible, after import you can have them use the lost password tool so they get a new one. I hope that helps. :) |

Hi Daniel. Just saw your post now. s2Member doesn’t offer that yet, you’ll need to customize the profile page to add those things. To check the user’s Level you can read about conditionals here: If you need help with this, you can get a freelancer from a site like oDesk.com, eLance.com or jobs.WordPress.org. I hope that helps! |

OK, got it. I guess you’d need to ask PayPal how to edit that link, I don’t know how to do it. You can also customize the header for that PayPal page, and add some instructions for the user so he knows what to do. The header image has to be hosted in a secure server, here’s a free service for that: I hope that helps! |

I know only another user having reported she doesn’t get emails from our site to one of her addresses, but does to another. The problem seems to be with that particular account she has, for some odd reason we couldn’t figure out. What email service are you using? |

Ah, I see. Hmm… I don’t know how to remove that link in the PayPal page. :/ What URL does it have? Is it the one you copied from the PDT panel? I’ll check with Jason if there’s a way to make the [hilite mono]success[/hilite] attribute work when modifying a subscription. |

Hi Dave. Yes, you could do that with s2Member. You may want to learn about using conditionals, to show only parts of a post to a user. To restrict file download for your PDF, you can use the download restriction, which can be either based on the user’s level or a custom capability you gave him. Here’s a video on custom capabilities: About the access expiration date, if you get your payments by check, you’ll want to set/update that manually in their profile, in the EOT (end of term) field. You can configure the EOT behavior to remove access once the EOT time is up. It’s under the PayPal options, but it’s actually a setting that works independent of the gateway. Also from the profile’s page, you’d give or remove access to the user, changing his role or custom capabilities. I hope that helps. :) |

Hi Randy. I think I know what you’re talking about. Let’s say that WordPress shortcode parsing is not perfect. I suggest that for complex conditions, or several of them, you use actual PHP code. Using echoes or goint in and out of PHP, you should be able to control the whitespace problem. And the conditional nesting won’t be an issue either. In your example, you could use a series of [hilite mono]if[/hilite]s and [hilite mono]elseif[/hilite]s or even a [hilite mono]switch[/hilite]. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Advanced PHP Conditionals[/hilite] I hope that helps. :) |

What Eduán said, only seen it when the theme or another plugin mess with the post’s parsing. You should find the culprit and remove it or fix it. If you can’t do that then, rather than using the full code for the button, I suggest creating a button over at PayPal, which won’t be affected by shortcode parsing problems, following these instructions: I hope that helps. :) |

Cool. :) Well, there are some examples in the Content Dripping panel. Just combine conditions in your code before showing a particular drip. E.g. [hilite pre_code]= 30)){ ?> Content for day 30 or later. [/hilite] Does it help? |

In the coming major release, not the next update, there may still be some more to the current s2Member before the major one happens. About the question, I suggest that rather than editing the user’s payment time, you instead give those users a new custom capability and add that to the conditionals that drip the content. Yes, you can create a feed that keeps showing new drips as time goes on, you’d just have one conditional after the next in the same page, checking for the user’s access and payment time, or days since. Does that help? :)
