Paypal told me I have Paypal Pro, Payflow Edition. I will contact Paypal again and ask about the points you listed above.

Also, Paypal told me we have Payflow Pro, which is the same as Paypal Pro with Payflow. For what it’s worth.

This may be the problem then. PayFlow Pro is one service, PayPal Pro PayFlow Edition is another. The latter is still PayPal Pro, only it uses PayFlow’s API, but it’s PayPal Pro, not PayFlow Pro. It’s incredible that even they get confused about it, I don’t understand their silly way of naming services.

https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/payflow-payment-gateway
https://www.x.com/developers/paypal/products/payflow-gateway

s2Member doesn’t integrate with PayFlow Pro, it does with PayPal Pro (regular or PayFlow Edition).

I hope this makes it possible to resolve your issue soon. :)

So the signup notification works, but the payment notification doesn’t? That’s odd, the payment one would fire every time the gateway tells s2Member about a payment.

Do the recurring payments show up in your PayPal IPN log? [hilite mono]/wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs/[/hilite]

Did you enter your email address in your payment notification to get an email? Did this work? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Notifications -› Payment Notifications -> Email[/hilite]

Did you do the troubleshooting tests? Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

Glad to help.

I would love to see some additional filters / settings on the export filter someday soon!

Made a note of your request. :)

Cool. :)

Another form of logging could be to have the payment notification set up to email you, then you can search your email for notifications related to that customer if you want info on past payments. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Notifications -› Payment Notifications[/hilite]

Also, if you want to make s2Member leave ccaps untouched when demoting the user, you can hack the auto-eot code. http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/question-about-ccaps-recurring-payment-and/#post-30257

Well, it says there that it’s a temporary error they were having, apparently something on their side, not your fault.

Still, what I’d recommend is to not use the Sandbox at all, instead do live transactions, 1 cent is fine. Once you have those working without problems in your tests, if you can, do a final test for the actual amount you’ll charge your customers to make sure it works fine.

Hi Bob.

Now, how do signatures and expire values get generated after the first request from an iPad?

I really don’t know, but I’ll ask Jason, who coded the integration. Thanks for your patience. :)

By the way, have you tried Philly’s plugin for video shortcodes? He’s put a lot of work into it and maybe it helps have the player perform better with iPads? http://phillymax.com/web/s2member-video-shortcode/

Ok, inside Paypal Manager it says Payflow SDK/API (Full Access), which is what they gave us when we asked for Payflow Edition. Is that correct?

Well, it’d seem that way if you have PayPal Pro. Please verify that you have PayPal Pro and not PayFlow Pro.

I see that all entries in your payflow log, show the Error 1 message. I looked up more info on the error and found this: http://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/vhelp/paypalmanager_help/result_values_for_transaction_declines_or_errors.htm

1

User authentication failed. Error is caused by one or more of the following:

  • Invalid Processor information entered. Contact merchant bank to verify.
  • “Allowed IP Address” security feature implemented. The transaction is coming from an unknown IP address. For more information, refer to Allowed IP Addresses.
  • You are using a test (not active) account to submit a transaction to the live PayPal servers.

Could you check those with the PayPal support rep?

Thanks, we got the emai you sent. I’ll take a look at your site now. :)

No, post-registration auto-login hack is not installed.

Are you absolutly sure? The [hilite mono]?first[/hilite] at the end of the URL was in one of the earlier versions of the hack.

https://sumigni.com/sign-me-up/?first

is there a faster perhaps more direct line of assistance?

You could send your site’s info and I’ll take a look. s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Hi Cristian
I LOVE this plugin, and your support is outstanding. So thank you!…is what I should have said first :)

Thanks for the kudos! We’re glad to help. :)

Thanks, got your email.

I entered my bit.ly URL and in your setting for the custom URL shortening service, saved, generated an access link and it was shortened with bit.ly.

Maybe the credentials you entered in your test had something wrong? Make sure there is no charater missing in your API key, and the key and username should belong to the same account too.

Let me know how it goes. :)

That’s great, Kim! Well done solving it and thanks for the update and summary. :)

The integration IS working. Through a phone call with ShareASale tech support I was able to find out that if the end user had ad blocking on in their browser it will cause the affiliate tracking to fail. I checked in with my tester and found out that was the case.

I wasn’t aware of this. Thanks for the tip. I’ll see if we can add it to the Share-a-Sale integretion’s documentation.

because I don’t know how to do that. It seems to me like you should make the button in a way that works and I shouldn’t have to do that.

The buttons works in a normal WP installation with no other thing causing the content filtering to be incorrect. We wrote the HTML for the buttons normally, nothing wrong with it. We avoided minimizing it by default because it’s less readable and thus harder to edit if the site owner wanted to customize it, but we may just end up doing that to side-step this problem caused by plugins/themes.

First of all, it is not their problem, secondly, I have no idea what to tell them to fix and thirdly, they wouldn’t be able to do it in time for me to launch my affiliate promotion. When we get this all sorted out I will be glad to report to them that their plugin does not work with s2Member so they can report it in their documentation. I am hoping you will do the same with yours.

Oh, but it is their problem, because their plugin is the one causing content filtering to work incorrectly. You happened to notice it with s2Member’s shortcode button, but it could affect other things as well.

I added it to our list of known plugin conflicts: http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=6309&p=62570#p62570

This seems like it will make my other shopping cart useless with PayPal unless they happen to already offer encrypted payments. Is that right? I can’t take down my ability to accept PayPal across the board just to get s2Member to work with ShareASale.

Button encryption would just encrypt the button data to order, so the details aren’t visible/editable by the customer in the source code. The transaction itself happens the same way on PayPal’s side. I don’t think your cart would be affected, but am not sure either, you’d just have to enable button encryption in s2Member and PayPal settings and then test a purchase in your cart to see if it works fine.

OH MY GOSH AFTER FIVE DAYS OF DEALING WITH THIS IT IS WORKING!

Again, I’m so glad for you. Well done. :)

Sure, you can post a screencast of it.

I just tested this in my installation with my bit.ly credentials and the access link was shortened with bit.ly successfully.

Could email me the URL you’re using for bit.ly? Don’t post it here because it’d have your username and API key. s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Great. Let us know how it goes. :)

Hi Richard.

That would indicate a problem with the pro-form’s JS.

It could be the theme, another plugin causing trouble with it. Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

Or it could be the fact that you have several pro-forms in the same page, which is known to cause problems, so you should have just one pro-form per page. Test a single pro-form in a page to see if you have the problem with those fields then.

What you can do is have links to the pro-forms instead of the pro-forms themselves, like we do in our Prices page. http://www.s2member.com/prices/

I hope that helps.

Ah, that may be related.

Are you using the Sandbox? If so, please use the live account. Make sure you don’t have Sandbox enabled in s2Member either. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Account Details -› Sandbox[/hilite]

About the status of your PayPal account, you’d need to contact their support rep about it. While you’re at it, if you have PayPal Pro, please confirm if it’s the PayFlow Edition or not.

Hi Addison.

I see that you aren’t using the sample JW code for streaming in s2Member, but a modified version trying to have a playlist. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› JW Player® & RTMP Protocol Examples -> RTMP streaming MP4, via s2Member's Amazon® S3/CloudFront integration[/hilite]

I’m not very familiar with JW Player to tell what’s wrong with your code. :/

Have you tried using Philly’s plugin for this? http://phillymax.com/web/s2member-video-shortcode/ :)

By the way, I removed the login info from your post, for security reasons. I suggest that you remove that account or, at least, change the password.

Posted: Wednesday Jan 9th, 2013 at 10:34 pm #36822

Thanks for the info, Pirco.

I followed the troubleshooting tips.

So you tried using the default theme and deactivating all the other plugins? Or did you try a clean WP installation with just s2Member added for the tests and you still had the problem?

just curious because everything works. users get added, emails sent out, and the new account works. authorize.net sends me the “charge” and all is good. except the re-direct…

Yes, it’s odd. Did you also try using the full URL in the [hilite mono]success[/hilite] attribute? http://www.lookforward-yourwhitebook.com/thank-you/

EDIT2: and now I see this message in the log: Unable to verify POST vars. This is most likely related to an invalid Authorize.Net® configuration. Please check: s2Member -> Authorize.Net® Options.

Did you do the server check to see that nothing wrong is reported there? http://www.s2member.com/kb/common-troubleshooting-tips/#server

Did you review and verify that all your integration is properly filled out in s2Member and Authorize.Net? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Authorize.Net® Options[/hilite]

Posted: Wednesday Jan 9th, 2013 at 10:22 pm #36820

Hi Dinesh.

Have you reviewed all your integration with PayPal? Did you verify that all the values you entered in s2Member and PayPal are correct? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options[/hilite]

Did you enter anything in the s2Member panel for PayFlow credentials? That’s only needed if you have PayPal Pro PayFlow Edition. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› PayFlow[/hilite]

It’s true that it shows the JS having trouble, probably introduced by the theme or another plugin. You can do the tests recommended here: Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

Another possibility is that you are using an index.html file in your WP directory, instead of WP’s standard index.php. Not common, but I’ve seen some site owners do this and it’d result in what you have there too, since it prevents s2Member’s JS from loading.

Posted: Wednesday Jan 9th, 2013 at 9:59 pm #36817

That is not true. The user who ran the test for me did register and did log in. ShareASale has not been notified of this sale.

Doing a test purchase with the shortcode’s button, how did the tracking behave?

Excellent. Thanks for the update! I’m very glad you resolved it. :)
