Thanks Cristian! Everything actually is falling into place beautifully. Ive figured out how to incorporate the secure invites plugin into the website along with everything else. s2Member is doing great. Im just adding more to the Getting Started page for new members. Well be set to go next week! All that struggle was worth it in the end. You learn a lot along the way!

Cristian:
I finally got my computer back. So far, so good…. We’ll see as the days go by. I have updated s2Member via FTP, and everything is fine. And I also had mentioned (somewhere) that I thought I was in debug mode. Well, I wasn’t. I was working off the iphone, so the experience was a bit screwy, and I also was in a bit of a panic, as you can imagine! Anyway, thanks for all your help and patience. Appreciate it!

Hi Cristian:
Thanks for responding. I was given the option to update automatically, and it always worked in the past. Just the past two times it didn’t. As I explained, I currently don’t have my PC, and don’t have an FTP option. I was on a PC today znd trued to update agsin, and it failed. Right now in my admin plugin area I am not recognized as having s2member installed within the list of plugins, but on top, where it says that my update failed, it does. This is really screwing me up, but I guess I will have to wait and see aboit when I will bd getting back my PC. FTPung wont affect any if my s2member setup info and confuguration, will it? This is a nightmare. And they say that we’re a totally mobile society? Not even close.

Hi:
I just wanted to let u mnow that s2member does NOT recognize a premium member through the smart phone and it doesn’t recognize s premium member plugin update thru the smart phone either. Thursday night I lost use of my desktop. I do not know when or if i will get it fixed or replsced. Right now my only internet access is my iphone. This is a big problem. You guys really have to brcome more mobile friendly. Catch up to the times. I only cud get into the Customer forum now becsuse I had a link in sn emsil I received from support. Otherwise, i was blocked from the premium area. Not good! Never had this kind of problem anywhere else.

Sorry for the typos! Iphone keypad.

What I would be trying to protect isnt the password, it would be the s2member key that i would have to put into the invite link in order for the plugin to work with my s2member setup. It breaks, but the link syill works. The problem id, it would still be apparent in some way. I hzve the Afgiliates Pro and s2member integration pack, so there might be a way there. It would just be a matter of configuring the link to get it to the options page. However, I just didcovered a little while sgo that my desktop and only computer is on the fritz, and I was told to turn it off. So no computer or business until it gets fixed or replaced.

Bruce, that’s not what I’m trying to do. I don’t want to offer free subscriptions. My site is premium membership only. I want to be able to have an invitation only website, where I and my members can invite friends to join. I need to figure this out as soon as possible – can I do this or not? I have found a way where I can, but I THINK it would not be a secure one, so I don’t think it’s an option. That’s why when I saw Cristian’s thread, I thought it MIGHT be the answer, but apparently, it doesn’t seem to be.

Strange and good thing to know. Especially since everyone seems to do everything through the smart phone these days!

Hi:
I’m trying to incorporate a secure invites plugin into my site which has Buddypress installed as well. The only problem with this plugin is that it doesn’t recognize the s2Member plugin and therefore has the wrong redirect. It tries to take you to the default (free) registration page instead of to the s2member options page for registration. Any thoughts as how to fix this? Thanks!

Hi:
Are you using a mobile theme on your website? That might be the culprit. They probably would be able to register if they turned off the theme (if that’s the case). Otherwise, I don’t know what it could be. I can’t login for instance through my mobile theme, and I have to turn it off in order to do so. Then I have to type in the wp-admin page in the browser. That’s why I’m thinking that could be the culprit. Hope it helps!

Hi:
I was using a plugin called Bad Behavior, and I just deactivated it and tried again, and it works! So I guess that was the culprit. Thanks for all your help!

I’ll try again, and do it one at a time. Thanks so much Cristian! I’ll let everyone know what happens.

it’s the following:
You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.
This is what I receive when I log in to the site through wp-admin to get into my dashboard. Just started happening a few days ago.
