Yes, I again used the hacks-file.

You can just replace the ending and then you can download to po file.

Ok, I have set it up so that only paying customers can register with the success-parameter and the redirect to the regular WP registration page.

I cannot use Pro forms so I want to make the WP registration page nicer and also add some text for the customer to not use the back button but to complete the registration.

Do you have any pointers on how to do this?

Best
Alex

Ok, I found the parameter in the paypal-api.log file:

&cancel_return=

This is the entry that I (and from your forum it shows many others as well) want to change from the GUI.

Thanks for fixing this soon! Maybe it can be changed with a hook in the hacking file!?

Sure, here is the download-link:

I cannot do that since I need an URL that is generated by the shortcode.

I would rather suggest that you issue a feature request to Jason because if you look at the forums of s2member this cancel url is a PITA for many people.

Thanks
Alex

Ok, this has worked.

But could you please issue a bug report since I have translated the strings in the mo-file but it is not displayed properly. Thanks!

I have found additional places where “please type it twice” is used but not declared in the po file:

\s2member\includes\classes\profile-in.inc.php (1 hits)

Line 234: echo ‘‘ . _x (“New Password?”, “s2member-front”, “s2member”) . ‘ ‘ . _x (“(please type it twice)”, “s2member-front”, “s2member”) . ‘
‘ . “\n”;

\s2member\includes\classes\sc-profile-in.inc.php (1 hits)

Line 250: echo ‘‘ . _x (“New Password?”, “s2member-front”, “s2member”) . ‘ ‘ . _x (“(please type it twice)”, “s2member-front”, “s2member”) . ‘
‘ . “\n”;

Could this be the problem?

Hi Cristian,

yes, I translated both strings. But the translation is not applied.

This is from my po-file:

#: s2member/includes/classes/profile-in.inc.php:78
#: s2member/includes/classes/sc-profile-in.inc.php:94
#, fuzzy
msgctxt “s2member-front”
msgid “(cannot be changed)”
msgstr “( kann nicht geändert werden )”

#: s2member/includes/classes/profile-in.inc.php:234
#: s2member/includes/classes/sc-profile-in.inc.php:250
#, fuzzy
msgctxt “s2member-front”
msgid “(please type it twice)”
msgstr “( bitte zweimal eingeben )”

Hi Mike,

did you try to create a PayPal button? I use PayPal buttons all the time and if you use the shortcode you can set the “output”-parameter to “url” and then you can copy-paste this generated URL with your own button/image link/whatever.

This solution works for me quite fine.

Take care

Hi Emanuele,

I have used OP as well and found it to be very cumbersome to handle and outdated.

Since I have been a user of LeadPages ( http://aschne.com/leadpages – affiliate link / http://leadpages.net – non-affiliate link) I have never looked back. This is by far the easiest to use lead generation page creator I have seen. The created pages are mobile responsive, look great on all browsers and they have lots of templates for video pages, blog pages and so on.

I highly recommend to check them out. The Opt-in pages convert really well and for the user it is much easier since he does not need to formally register. I tried that before but did not pursue it any further since it would be too much programming that I just didn´t want spend the time on.

What I do for my membership sites is:

Content dripping is used by me only for paying customers. For free content series I have setup an autoresponder series with links to my landing pages.

On each landing page there is a clear call to action and no menu or whatsoever is shown.

I hope this helps.

Check out the plugin “Limit Login Attempts” ( http://wordpress.org/plugins/limit-login-attempts/ ).

This drastically reduced the amount of brute force password attacks on the Admin user. Just make sure that you set high enough hours for the locking period. I usually set these values:

5 login attempts than 30 minutes locking period.

After two times of the above login tries I block the access for this IP for two days.

BTW I think you should think about switching hosting providers – fiddling with your htaccess-file without contacting you would be a no-go for me.

Take care

Do you have any roadmap when this release will be published?

Honestly, I do not want to put in the effort on programming a custom connection to Amazon Payments only to find out in six weeks that a new API together with a new major release has been introduced!

And to be totally frank a “It´s ready when it´s ready” approach is a major PITA for a professional company. Apple gets away with it but IMHO it should be openly communicated when major releases are planned.

Thanks for the info.

Do you know if this is possible with custom coding? Did you have a look at Amazon payments yet?

Do you have any resources on how to modify existing gateways?

I found this thread on DigitalRiver integration (http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/custom-payment-gateway-flowchart-overview/) and you talked about a major upcoming release where the API would be streamlined and integration of new gateways would be much easier. Is this already included in the current version(since the switch to the new numbering scheme one gets lost if there were major releases or not)? Where can I find documentation?

Thanks Bruce, will look into this.

BTW, I have purchased Pro and would definitely want to use the Pro forms. I thought only paying customers would have access to this forum though.

Thanks, I also understood that PayPal is restricted in that way.

I would not want to customize in such a heavy way because this only creates hassle in case of updates on the different stakeholders involved.

What about the other options like ClickBank or Authorize.Net? Would that solve my problem.
