Actually, it was stupid error on my part. I listed the vendor name as PayPal instead of my user name. It all works fine now. Sorry for the hassle.

Actually, it seems to be working now…custom fields ARE showing up on the Premium subscription pages. Thanks for all your time and effort.

Hi Christian, the SSL problem is now fixed (it required me getting a dedicated IP address from my hosting company). Please try again. Thanks.

I don’t understand. I didn’t choose or otherwise select any settings on either my WordPress site or in PayPal that make things run in Sandbox mode. I thought I was live. Do you know what I should do to ensure that is the case?

Here is the second test with a different name, cc, etc. on a different PC. That also failed:

I’ve sent the message. Hopefully you can look soon, as I was seeking to go live on Saturday.

I double-checked the settings, which were what you said, but it still doesn’t work. When I am logged out and try to subscribe, this is still all I see:

Your Profile
First Name *
Last Name *
Email Address *
Username ( lowercase letters and/or numbers ) *
[Below that is the credit card input area]

Very frustrating.

Posted: Thursday Oct 4th, 2012 at 9:39 am #27444

OK, that works. Thanks.

Actually, I tried what you suggested (i.e, logged out) but it is still not showing custom fields on my PayPal Forms registration pages (I have four of them). Here is the short code I have embedded in one of the pages (I substituted a dummy name for my actual site) [which uses the force ssl option, by the way]:

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level="1" ccaps="" desc="$30 USD / Monthly ( recurring charge, for ongoing access )" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="USD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="www.dummyname.com" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="30" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="2" accept="paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo" accept_via_paypal="paypal" coupon="" accept_coupons="0" default_country_code="" captcha="0" /]

All I am seeing on the registration page is this:
Your Profile
First Name *
Last Name *
Email Address *
Username ( lowercase letters and/or numbers ) *

Rather than this (which is what I am seeing on the profile section when I log in):

Username * ( cannot be changed )
Email Address *
First Name *
Last Name *
Display Name *
AIM username
Google Chat email address
New Password? ( please type it twice )
Only if changing password, otherwise leave blank.
password strength indicator

Any other suggestions?

Great, thank you.

I couldn’t resolve the problem directly, but by changing the name of the category from “Members” to something else (e.g., “Member”), it seemed to solve the problem. Perhaps the word “members” has some special significance with respect to S2Member restrictions? Regardless, you can consider this topic closed.

All of my settings have been saved and my browser has been refreshed; In addition, my host provider (WP Engine) offers caching and I cleared all the caches. Unfortunately, the problem is not going away.

Is there a file that stores S2 restriction data that can be directly edited, or wiped clean, or written over with the default version that comes when you first install the plug-in (I am happy to set all category/post/page/etc. restrictions to the default null state and then reapply the restrictions I want manually)?

Alternatively, is there a way to save all of my current settings (General Options, Mail Chimp APIs/List IDs, etc.) and reinstall S2Member with those settings (but without any specific category and/or post data restrictions)?

Alternatively, is there somewhere in the SOL database where I can specifically check what restriction is associated with a category, post, etc. and somehow fix it?

While I am not a programmer, this appears to be some sort of bug.

Actually, I just experimented with changing the status on some posts to unrestricted from restricted, and the same issue is coming up. It appears as though once something has been restricted in some way, the database is not being flushed clean if that restriction is removed. Here is the redirect URL (with my website name removed) I am getting on a post that was formerly restricted at the post level but is not now:

http://xxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxxxx.com/subscribe/?_s2member_seekingtype=post&_s2member_seekingpost=341&_s2member_seeking_uri=LzIwMTIvMDkvMjYvdS1zLWVxdWl0aWVzLWRlZmVuc2l2ZS1zaGFyZXMtaW5jcmVhc2luZ2x5LWluLWZhdm9yLw%3D%3D&_s2member_reqtype=level&_s2member_reqlevel=2&_s2member_restype=post&s2member_seeking=post-341&s2member_level_req=2

And in terms of my original query regarding a specific category that was once restricted but I tried to unrestrict, here is the URL redirect:

http://xxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxxxx.com/subscribe/?_s2member_seekingtype=catg&_s2member_seekingcatg=24&_s2member_seeking_uri=L2NhdGVnb3J5L21lbWJlcnMv&_s2member_reqtype=level&_s2member_reqlevel=0&_s2member_restype=sys&s2member_seeking=catg-24&s2member_level_req=0

In both cases, the items were formerly restricted but aren’t now. Is there a routine to flush or remove this data from where it is lingering? Is this stored in a particular file that should be written over freshly (otherwise, I have a lot of settings the way I want, so I don’t really want to have to reinstall S2Member from scratch.

Thank you. I wasn’t paying attention and thought I was there already.

Hi there — any word re: my the query I posted Saturday: Remove all restrictions for specific posts…?

Posted: Friday Sep 14th, 2012 at 4:57 am #25272

OK, maybe I framed that wrong. If a category is for level 2 subscribers but I want to make one post in that category available to a wider audience and give it a level 0 restriction, which will prevail? Will level 0 subscribers be able to view that particular post even though it is associated with a level 2-restricted category?

That’s great. Thank you.
