Okay, while I was typing this ticket I got an email from PayPal stating that a Bug in their system downgraded my account from Pro to Regular, and that they fixed my account status and now the PayPal pro form is working.

To avoid this bug check that PayPal is deducting $30 for your monthly fees each month. Mine did not, even though the funds are there, and that is the bug that fouled up my account. Thanks PayPal for catching the problem!

S2member, your code rocks please ignore my post.

Thanks for your second set of eyes on the code. I think it must have been a cashing issue, because now I see the changed language on the order form. My host is WP-Engine and they have server side cashing to make WP run faster. Thanks for you help, the code worked after all!

Excellent advice – both of you. Thanks very much. Will probably do this early next week. If I can alert you ahead of time and get your confirmation so I know you are standing by “just in case,” it will go a long way to give me to confidence to do this with no problems! Thanks again.

What if the entire subscription process is handled on a 3rd party shopping cart, which processes through PayPal, then delivers the paid subscription, with all required data, to s2Member? We could enroll them in a no-charge, or “free,” separate level of service? Can we have more than one free level of service?

Note, we also use aWeber extensively, so that interface would also have to be taken into account. Several other 3rd party apps, but I’m not sure any of them would be tied so directly to S2Member.

I think that would probably be the second step, after we set up our own account. Yes.

But it must be SEAMLESS – I can’t stress that enough.

OK, is this what you want? We went through the process and got the same error report, which I believe is detailed here:

Initially we did receive the money, and as I said, subsequently refunded it.

Because this is a large transaction, we have done our recent tests with a representative of the would-be subscriber’s bank on the phone at the time so they can watch the process, and if we get the error report on our end (acting as the subscriber) immediately reverse the charge. That’s also why we are waiting for another couple of hours yet to make another test – we’ll be doing it in a couple of hours from now, after the bank representative in Chicago is available to sit in ot the test with us.

During earlier tests, the bank has confirmed that all the ID information, including the address, match their records, which is why they have been paying the charge.

This is the only recent failure. Others have used the form successfully.

I’ll be back to you aftedr we capture the log of our test in a few hours.

Logging has not been enabled. I have done it now and we will repeat the process. I’ll report those logs here. (As I understand, you would have be redact any personal identification in those logs – is that correct?)

I’m sorry if I was not clear – I had not yet reached the point of manually changing code. I am using the S2members plugin in my WordPress Admin Area. Under users, a list called “Report for Email” had already been created. We want to add a column to the report that shows when their subscription expires. Using “Configure this list” I placed the new column from the list available, adding “Wp S2m Auto Eot Time.” But that field displays the data as a Unix Time Stamp. We really need a date readable in English human language. I have noticed that when exporting a full members list, the field “Wp S2m Auto Eot Date” is included – which is just what we want in the “Report for Email.” But that field name is not among the list displayed as available for configuring my email report. (I’m assuming since it exists in the database, it should be a fairly simple matter to include when configuring a new report.)

(By the way – this is necessary because the full members report export sends only csv files in bursts of 250 members at a time – a cumbersome process when one is dealing with thousands of members. This is an issue we have talked about before, and I was told a modification might be considered for this summer’s revise. Meanwhile, the custom Report for Emai is not liimited in that way. So – in part – this is a workaround to avoid the problem we wrote about earlier. FYI.)

I hope this is clearer than my initial query.

I have the log files with data now, but after talking to a customer it appears they receive the error message before filling out the form. I also saw the error message yesterday when looking at the payment page, but am not able to reproduce it. The error message appears in a red “Ajax” style alert box at the top of the page ans says “domain error must have matching domain”.

Because the error message appears before they completed the form, they did not attempt to make a payment, so I’m not sure if the logs will provide any relevant data.

I see two log file paypal-ipn.log and paypal-api.log – what should I be looking for in those files to determine a failed payment or not?

I can’t find any links to that page without the “www” in the URL.

I did not have the logging enabled under PayPal account details. I’ve activated it now and will monitor the logs. I will report back when I get some data.

If I move the tables “wp_user” and “wp_usermeta” into the new site on my development server would that alter the password fields?

I’m protecting the content with short code conditionals and Level 1 users only, which are in place on the new site. So I’m not worried about the restricted content.

I don\’t think adjusting the custom fields will work. The sate and zip code fields are under the billing address area, that get transferred to PayPal Pro for authorization. How do I adjust these fields to accept 3-letter states and 4-digit zip codes? Or can I bypass the address verification and just bill the customer based on cc number and expiration date?

Thanks Jason. Can’t wait to see what you’ve done with it. I have several sites using it with thousands of users. It’s stable and reliable. I love your script!
