Hi Barnaby.

Maybe it could. I can’t say with certainty because I’m not certain about how your site works exactly.

s2Member has file protection, which would be useful to protect the full version of the videos so they’re not accessed by free visitors. Video » s2Member® File Downloads (Amazon S3/CloudFront/JW Player)

Does that help? :)

Hi David.

That would be possible with the free version of s2Member.

For the extra profile fields, you’d be able to use the s2Member custom profile fields. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields[/hilite].

Then you’d be able to edit those fields yourself, or the user himself, going to his profile page.

From the same profile page you can edit the expiration date (EOT time) to indicate when his paid term ends.

s2Member’s behavior on EOT, can be configured from here: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Automatic EOT Behavior[/hilite].

I hope that helps! :)

Maybe something like this? (haven’t tested it)

[hilite pre_code]';
elseif (isset($_GET['_s2member_req']['level'])) {
$label = array('at least a free', 'a Plus', 'a Premier');
$return = (isset($_GET['_s2member_seeking']['post']) ? 'post' : 'page') . ' is restricted. You need ' . $label[$_GET['_s2member_req']['level']] . ' subscription to access it.';
}
return !empty($return) ? '

Sorry, this ' . $return : '';
}
[/hilite]

Could probably be shortened more if you combined the ccap and level return strings, but I didn’t want to edit the strings you had.

Cool. :)

And I still have one strange behavior :
the form lets people enter a password, even if I choose “No” for Allow Custom Passwords during Registration
This makes some confusing because people enter a password who is not usefull

That sounds like you may have a JavaScript problem affecting the pro-form. It may be the theme or another plugin causing it. To test, please change to the default theme and check the pro-form. To test plugins, deactivate them one by one and check the problem after each.

I get information about a “missing card”

That may also be related to the JS problem you seem to have, since normally the PayPal option would be already selected (even if hidden) when it’s the only choice.

Hi Anthony.

Could you please send your site’s info so we take a look at the settings and test the registration? s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Are you using the WordPress registration form, or an s2Member pro-form?

You can find previous versions here (you can find these links are in your Account page, in case you need them again in the future):

Let me know when you send the email with the site’s info, please. Thanks!

Hi Ganaxy.

You may be having a shortcode parsing problem, causing the submit input field to break and not show the button’s image. Could you post a link to the page where you have this issue?

Either the theme or a plugin may be causing this. To test, change to the default theme for a moment and check. If that doesn’t solve it, deactivate other plugins one by one and check after each.

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Jeremy.

I’ll email Jason to ask about that, since I’d assume the same you said. Knowing PayPal, though, I wouldn’t be too surprised if what you experienced is their expected behavior.

This is all on their side, s2Member just gives a link to go cancel, but nothing else. You should ask PayPal support about it, to confirm if that’s the expected behavior.

Ah, that may be it. You may want to refresh the cache.

By the way, make sure you have Object Caching disabled, since it’s known to cause problems. http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=6309#p62322

The logging setting doesn’t have just “Logging” as the title, the full line says: “Enable Logging Routines?”

Also, make sure you opened the PayPal Account Details panel, not the PayFlow Account Details one.

The s2member-logs folder will be put there when you add s2Member to the site, but it won’t have logs before you enable logging and there’s anything to be logged (e.g. transactions).

I hope that helps. :)

Ah, that may explain it! You could test this specifically, with accounts that get funding from an account and others from a card, see if you can reproduce the error consistently then. :)

Posted: Saturday Oct 27th, 2012 at 7:45 am #29907

It may have to do with caching, if you’re using a plugin for that (I don’t remember if you had that installed).

Anyway, seems fine now, thank you all for your help.

Great. :)

Did you set that same page you’re using for the Home, as the Membership Options page?

Posted: Saturday Oct 27th, 2012 at 7:33 am #29905

Hi Jerry.

You mean the custom profile fields? The field’s ID will be used in the export, not the label.

Posted: Saturday Oct 27th, 2012 at 7:15 am #29903

You can use the constants for the level labels. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› PHP/API Constants[/hilite]s

S2MEMBER_LEVELn_LABEL
This is the (string) Label that you created for a particular Membership Level #. Replace n with a numeric Membership Level #..

[hilite code][/hilite]
This may output something like: Free
( or whatever Label you’ve configured for Level #0 )

—- s2member Shortcode Equivalent —-

[hilite code][[s2Get constant="S2MEMBER_LEVEL0_LABEL" /]][/hilite]

Hey, that’s great, Jason! Thanks for finding the source of the problem! :)

Debbie, you could just reupload that file from the v120703 distribution, but he’s right suggesting to reupload the whole thing from scratch, since other files may have had a similar problem during your upload when this happened. And since you’re at it, upload the newest v121023 release instead.

Make sure you have your Deactivation Safeguards enabled, too, so you don’t lose your s2Member settings during update. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Deactivation Safeguards[/hilite]

Keeping your plugins up-to-date (s2Member and the others), and WordPress too, will help avoid problems with your site, that were already solved by the the newer releases. I like waiting a few days after the release before updating, though, unless it’s very urgent. And always have a backup of your site, just in case.

It’s great that you can have the free registration and other pro-forms working now! :D

Hi Paul.

The Authorize.Net pro-forms have the [hilite mono]cc[/hilite] attribute to change the currency, but it also says Auth.Net processes all transactions in USD… [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Authorize.Net® Pro Forms -› Shortcode Attributes -> cc[/hilite]

[hilite mono]cc="USD"[/hilite] 3 character Currency Code. Authorize.Net® processes all transactions in USD.

You can try changing the code to GBP and see how it goes, I’ll email Jason asking about more details on this.

Is there a UK version of Auth.Net or did you signup with the US company?

2)Kind of the same issue, is it possible to change the billing details to be based in the UK?

You mean the address fields? How would the UK version be compared to the US one? I’m not familiar with it, so it’d help me if you could give an example. Thanks!

Ok the good news that JS issue has now gone from firebug

Cool! :)

However IE 9 is still crashing, again i can enter the General details until i choose a paymnt type and then it dies?

Okay, to narrow it down to what is causing this behavior, again test with the default theme and deactivating other plugins one by one, checking the problem after each change, please.

You already submitted the login info before when I looked into this, and no harm was done. So far, we’ve only fixed sites or left them as they were, never worse.

Of course, as a site owner, having a complete, fresh backup of your site is always good practice and really important, no matter who you deal with, and even if you’re not dealing with anybody.

Jason’s the one that makes changes when needing to investigate/fix, and does a great job. He works with respect for every customer’s site and is aware of how important they are, so he takes measures to not damage them.

You can believe that or not, of course, it’s your site and your call. I understand you’re frustrated with this so far, I really do, but most customers have their issues resolved promptly and happily. Here’s an example from today, where Jason investigated and fixed a problem, and the customer’s satisfaction. :)

I’m so glad, Genie! Thanks for the update and for helping us spot this problem. And Jason, thank you very much for fixing it so quick. :)

Thank you very much for the update. We’re very glad you’re getting it solved! :)

I understood what you said, Debbie. I know you’ve said having deactivated the plugins and changed the theme to the default, and having re-uploaded the files. I’m sorry we’ve kept mentioning doing that, it’s just that it’s one of those, always, in our long experience. But it’s not impossible that something new could come up, that’s why I took a look when you sent the login info, although I didn’t find the reason behind the shortcodes not being parsed.

Now Jason can take a look, but the login info you sent before doesn’t work anymore, that’s why he requested that you send it again, so he can take a look himself to find what’s causing this behavior in your installation. Could you please submit it again for him to investigate it? s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Thank you very much.

Hi Adam.

Coupons can’t be 100%-off yet. Knowledge Base » Offering a Free Coupon Code (100% Discount)

And you can limit them with an expiration date, but there isn’t a uses limit yet.

Both are features we’ll be adding in a future release, but there isn’t a date for that yet. We’ll announce it when that happens. :)
