Tammy, it’s possible that you have an extra s2member-pro folder, probably added when you extracted it from the zip file. Could you make sure you don’t have /s2member-pro/s2member-pro/ please? Thanks. :)

So does this mean s2Member should be doing something different, or does this point back to the workaround we discussed of simply removing the Payflow API parameters and letting s2Member fall back to the older APIs? Or something else entirely?

If your PayPal Pro account uses the PayFlow API, removing the PayFlow details from s2Member will prevent your pro-form from working with PayPal Pro.

Thanks for showing us what the PayPal rep said, I’ll email Jason about this.

Hi Bryan.

That may be possible filtering the content to add the condition, I guess. Maybe a hack similar to those that add teh “more” tag to every post, could be customized for this.

I had trouble when choosing the payment method in Firefox too. Did do the plugins test to find if there’s a conflict there? Plugins also use JavaScript and can cause this kind of trouble.

The pro-forms don’t integrate with PayPal Standard, but with Express Checkout (free) or PayPal Pro (paid). Express Checkout is similar to PayPal Standard.

The registration link is not needed with pro-forms, because registration is done right there. If you look at the pro-form’s confirmation email, you’ll notice there’s no registration link. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Signup Confirmation Email (pro-form)[/hilite]

[hilite mono]%%registration_url%%[/hilite] = Not needed with PayPal® Pro Form integration. Pro Forms handle this automatically.

Hi Josh.

To hide a part of the page, instead of the whole thing, conditionals would be the way to go. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Simple/Shortcode Conditionals[/hilite]

To protect your PDF files, you can use the download restriction. Video » s2Member (File Download Options)

I hope that helps. :)

Great! Thanks for the update. :)

WordPress doesn’t seem to let you create an account without a password for the user to add later. The user can always change from his profile page the one he gets, though.

You may want to look for a plugin that adds password generation for new users you create. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=new+user+password

I hope that helps. :)

I see. As admin, s2Member won’t restrict access to anything, so the problem seems to be in your Amazon integration.

Nathan, did you double-check that your Amazon integration is properly configured? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Amazon® S3/CDN Storage[/hilite]

Are you using CloudFront too? If so, please check the integration for that too. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Amazon® S3/CloudFront CDN Storage[/hilite]

Let me know how it goes, please. :)

Then you could try with JavaScript… I guess you could create a hack where you parse the shortcode with [hilite mono]output="url"[/hilite] for the ClickBank button in that same page, and then use that URL in your OP delayed button. I’m not versed in JS to suggest the code, though.

if i register users with s2 member and add custom fields (meta) can i pull that info out somehow with shortcodes into another form for example?

Here are some ways to get to the custom profile fields:
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› PHP/API Constants[/hilite]
get_user_field()
get_s2member_custom_fields()

Depeding on your form, you may be able to prepopulate it with that.

does s2member support sending payments to different paypal accounts for different registration types – (maybe using a different button on each registration type page?

No, only one PayPal account can be integrated with s2Member.

You could experiment with multiple ones, though, if you’re using PayPal Standard and create the buttons over at PayPal instead of using s2Member’s shortcodes for them. Knowledge Base » Using PayPal created buttons

can users register with s2member and cancel the paypal tranaction and still appear as registered in the above scenario (like many plugins seem to allow that I have tried lately)

You can control the behavior of s2Member when a subscription is cancelled, from here: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Automatic EOT Behavior[/hilite]

If you sell subscriptions with buttons that don’t include s2Member’s IPN URL, s2Member would never find out about payments or cancellations, though, so EOT behavior wouldn’t happen.

I hope that helps!

No, don’t know…

Could you check if you have logging enabled? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite] (it’s logging in general, even if it’s in the PayPal options page)

Enable it and to a test registration, then check if a log was created for MailChimp and post here the entry, please.

Did you change anything other than the server? Like updating other plugins?

Ah, and could upload this to your WP directory and open it in your browser, please? http://www.s2member.com/r/server-check-tool/

Thanks. :)

Hi Nathan.

Did you have this happen while logged in to your admin account?

If not, what level did the account you tried this with had? And what level is the file protected at?

When we signed up with Authorize.net, they asked us if we wanted a UK or US account, so we said UK. Maybe this is something new that they are offering? As anything I find relating to them always says US Only…

I see. It’d be good to contact them to confirm this, and how you can make all transactions happen in GBP only, instead of USD. Maybe there’s a setting you can adjust in your account area with them.

Can we change the naming of the fields?

You can probably do this with a “translation” hack. Create this dir/file: /wp-content/mu-plugins/s2hacks.php

[hilite pre_code]

Hi Geoffrey.

Yes, that’s something you can already do with WordPress, s2Member doesn’t change it. [hilite path]WP Admin -> Users -> Add New[/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

Cassel’s is a good example, but for the Membership Options page I’d use its variables, in order to know what the person was trying to access and customize the content or redirect him accordingly. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Membership Options Page Variables (MOP Vars)[/hilite]

That’d require editing the JavaScript for the pro-form, as well as the back-end where the card’s info is forwarded to the payment gateway.

I’ll mention this to Jason as a feature request, though. Thanks! :)

Thanks a lot for taking the time to post an update with your solutions. :)

s2hacks.php MUST GO in a /wp-content/mu-plugins/ directory – even if you have to make it.

That’s right. I thought you had put it there, since that’s what we indicate when we recommend using an s2hacks.php file. I now re-read your first post and saw you did say “/wp-content/plugins/s2-Hacks.php” there, which is wrong and I missed the first time.

I would not however recommend it for those who don’t have time to put into debugging and writing custom code for customizing it to work with their site.

Customization of a plugin’s behavior with hacks will always be more advanced than using an interface, regardless of the plugin. s2Member makes it possible to do these customizations, while some others obscure the code, though. That said, we do want to make more things possible through the user interface.

It would be a great feature to add a member level upgrade custom email, so the s2hacks file wouldn’t needed. Also, sending that email to both the paypal user and the site member if their emails differ.

I took note of that. This is something we’re planning to add.

This plugin is very helpful and we purchased the multi-site license.

Thank you! :)

You could do something like that with a hack. The ccaps videos shows an example of something like that, around minute 7 of the second part. Video » s2Member (Custom Capabilities)

I hope that helps. :)

Posted: Monday Oct 29th, 2012 at 1:42 am #29992

I applied the hack after updating to the latest version but the ugly url still there.

That’s odd. Did you make sure you saved the changes after editing?

I just checked the file in the new release and that line hasn’t changed, so the hack is the same and should work as before.

Try copying the file again to your mu-plugins folder and editing it to change that line one more time, please.

Hi Jaime.

You can search YouTube for videos on how to use FileZilla, or how to FTP your plugin. Here’s an example: http://youtu.be/yr_u2iKfAt0

I may create one specifically for s2Member soon, though. Thanks for the suggestion.

I hope that helps. :)

No, that’s not possible yet, only one PayPal account at a time can be integrated with s2Member. We want to make it possible to have more than one in the future, but we don’t have a date for that feature yet.

Posted: Monday Oct 29th, 2012 at 1:20 am #29989

That’s great! Thanks for the update. :)

Posted: Monday Oct 29th, 2012 at 1:19 am #29988

That’s right, but anyone that you don’t upgrade to a higher level than the free one, would not have access to the content you protected at the higher level.

Anyway, I suggested it as an option, if you didn’t mind others registering an account, since they wouldn’t have access to content you don’t want them to.

What you can do, if you prefer Open Registration disabled, is to generate an access link for each person you want to invite, so they can register anyway. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Registration Access Links[/hilite]

I didn’t suggest this first, because it’s not a bulk solution, you will need to generate an individual link and email with it, for each person.

Hi Gil.

No problem. I split your post into its own thread. You can start new threads with the form at the bottom of the forum page.

About your question, you can sell separate posts either using custom capabilities if your users will register an account, or with the specific post restriction, which doesn’t use user accounts. These videos explain them:

Video » s2Member (Custom Capabilities)
Video » s2Member (Specific Posts/Pages)

I hope that helps. :)
