Sorry, I have no experience with Post Affiliate Pro. Can’t say if it’ll do what you need…

About the other plugins, like WP Affiliate, since it’s a WP plugin, it may be possible to have the user become an affiliate with the same account, right? Have you asked its developer about it?

Yeah, almost everything will have its own time in the database. But because there isn’t an ETA and your developer says it wouldn’t be hard for him, I’d have him do it.

Hi Manish.

Does S2Member free version allow to have multiple free memberships.
Like if I want Silver and Gold to be free but Platinum to be paid.

You’d need the free registration pro-form to do that. The free version doesn’t have this.

Also pls tell me how to create a free membership and if I need to convert it into paid membership at later stage can I do that. If yes then what will happen to the existing Members who registered free.

Any free account can be upgraded to a paid one, just make sure the user is logged in when he clicks the payment button.

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Julie.

Basically, I’d like the software to automatically upgrade members from one membership level to the next.

s2Member doesn’t do level upgrades for the dripping, you use conditionals to show or not content based on the time the person’s been a member. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Content Dripping[/hilite]

Hi Manish.

s2Member doesn’t control post creation.

You can try editing the s2Member Level role you give users, to add the capabilities needed to post, but I can’t help you much with that since I don’t have experience with which would be needed. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Scott.

I think the membership options page might have been deleted while still pointing as a redirect.

Could you try setting the Membership Options page again and clicking the Save All Changes button? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Membership Options Page[/hilite]

Hi Sam.

What do you mean by the postback? The return URL, or the IPN one?

Posted: Wednesday Sep 12th, 2012 at 8:19 am #24997

You mean dripping without the conditionals? It might. :)

No, sorry, no new ETA.

Great! :)

Hi Stephen.

That may be because when the coupon is submitted, [hilite mono]$_POST['mlevel'][/hilite] is not set. You’ll probably need to use the session or a cookie to store the selected [hilite mono]mlevel[/hilite], and check that instead of [hilite mono]$_POST[/hilite].

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Ron.

Could you explain a bit more what you mean?

Do you want to let users create pages or create the pages for them?

Posted: Wednesday Sep 12th, 2012 at 7:59 am #24990

Hi Jeremy.

When a customer pays for post access it rarely gives them access to the video and the majority of the time they will get the “Sorry, you do NOT have access to this file.” (from the else statement in the JW Player PHP code).

The file will be protected at some level or with a custom capability, which a user not logged in won’t have, thus no access to the file. When you have files to download from a page/post with the Specific Post/Page restriction, you need to add a download key to the file’s URL. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Advanced Download Restrictions[/hilite]

I’m under the impression that the link (to the purchased post) the buyer is sent should work for one year (because I set it to expire in one year) and should also work w/o having to be logged into an account. Are these accurate assumptions?

Yes, that’s correct.

I don’t know how the Chrome Incognito mode works, but you could try with another browser you aren’t logged in with to test the link to the page.

I hope it helps. :)

BUT there was no name of the person listed – just “N/A” and an email.

Could it be that the person entered “N/A” as the name? Does it also say “N/A” in his profile page?

I was under the impression that S2 requires the person’s name

s2Member can require the name if you set it that way. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields -> Collect First/Last Names during Registration[/hilite]

Hi Brian.

The idea being, they come to the /register page, select the account type they’d like from a drop down, then jQuery un-hides the appropriate Pro Form.

Pro-forms don’t work properly if there’s more than one in a page, it may be that you’re having that problem. Even if the others are hidden, they’re still on the same page. Could you try a single pro-form for a paid level in a test page?

Hi David.

That’s a cool project you have. I’m afraid the two affiliate solutions I’d have suggested to look into, are mentioned in your post already.

I know there’s a user here that is working on a new affiliate plugin to work with s2Member, and maybe it will/could include the features you need for your project. http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/s2m-affiliate-plugin-thread/

I hope it helps. :)

Yeah, generating the download key doesn’t require the user to be logged in, as far as I understand it.

Hi Peter.

The page shown to someone on login would be the Login Welcome page. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Login Welcome Page[/hilite]

On registration that’s not the case, though. BuddyPress adds an account activation step to the registration, I don’t know where it redirects the user, but it sends an email with a link that needs to be clicked.

I hope that helps. :)

Eduán, that code won’t work: the condition is wrong, you’re using the function to check the role, but using the capability name, and unquoted. And [hilite mono]header()[/hilite] can’t be used in the body, it’s too late because there was output already, use a JS redirection instead.

Philly, your first conditional also checks the role with the capability name.

I hope that helps. :)

Yeah, the times stored are not enough for what you’re trying to do. You could add a hack that inserts a row in usermeta with the time for each ccap the user gets, that way you’ll have times for them when you drip the content.

No, you can’t drip if you’re protecting the whole page with the ccap, only with conditionals for now.

Haven’t actually tried this yet, but it should work.

Actually, [hilite mono]'access_s2member_level1'[/hilite] is a capability, the role is [hilite mono]'s2member_level1'[/hilite]. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Advanced PHP Conditionals[/hilite]

And if you’re using that code in the page’s body, then it’s too late to use [hilite mono]header()[/hilite], you’ll need to use a JavaScript redirection there.
