Cool. :)

Hi Roderick.

s2Member never applies restrictions to admins. If you need someone that’s like an admin, but with restrictions, you’d need to create a new role and give it all the WordPress capabilies, except for the ones you don’t want him to have. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/

I hope that helps. :)

If I resume, if I set the rra to ”0”, it will block the access after the first failed payment right?

That’s how I understand it from the documentation.

Plus,I want to know when someone are unsubscribe for any reasons but want to resubscribe, what is the process? they reselect a plan and s2member will recognize their last username and pass and reactive their payment billing?

He’d have to be logged in to his existing account when he resubscribes. It wouldn’t continue the previous subscription, instead it’d create a new one.

I was just replying to your “I sure hope there will be an easier way in the nearby future”. There will be. :)

Hi Stuart.

and ones that do see S1 as a free account instead of S0

I’m not sure what you mean by that.

Did you check out the User Import tool in s2Member? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Import/Export -› User/Member Importation[/hilite]

Posted: Tuesday Jun 19th, 2012 at 4:21 am #16834

ii) clarify, Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Notifications -› Payment Notifications is purely for subscription payments or together with the specific pages/posts sales.

It’s for any payment. :)

Thanks for the kudos, Adam! We try our best to give the best product and support, even if not always perfect. :)

I’m sorry you had so much trouble with an affiliate software. What have you tried? Have you tried iDev Affiliate or WP Affiliate? Those are the two names that come to mind from other users having used them successfully so far. I know iDev is quite powerful in what it can do, not sure what you need it to do, though.

The affiliates plugin hasn’t been a priority because iDev can do it quite well already, honestly, but we are considering it. Our priority is to get the new s2Member ready for beta, test and fix it, release it publicly, zap any bugs left and continue adding the features we left out of the first release. After it’s stable, we may start working on sister projects, like this and others we have in mind that would complement s2Member.

Hi Grace.

It’s weird that some would go through and others not…

Could you post a link to the page with the buttons?

Could you upload this to your WP directory and load it in your browser, please? http://www.s2member.com/r/server-check-tool/

No, you tried most of what I’d suggest…

It obviously involves s2Member, because when you remove s2 the time drops 2 secs, but I’d like to know if it happens when one of those two is added. Could you time these?

– s2Member alone
– s2Member and BuddyPress

First off, kudos to the team for a great plugin – unlike so many ecommerce/membership plugins, most of the features of S2M worked right out of the box. I was extremely happy how easy it integrated with authorize.net

Thank you for the kudos! :D

Cool. Glad you worked it out. Thanks for the update. :)

Hi Colm.

You can style the button using CSS. The selector would be: [hilite mono]div.ws-plugin--s2member-pro-login-widget > form input[type="submit"][/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

Oh, cool. Glad you found the plugin causing that problem with wp_cron. Which one was it?

You can use the [hilite mono]rra[/hilite] attribute in your shortcode to not reattempt billing the user after a failed payment, to trigger the EOT behavior after just one failure. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro-Forms -› Shortcode Attributes -> rra[/hilite]

rra=”2″ Reattempt failed payments? Possible values: 0 = do NOT reattempt billing when/if a recurring payment fails; 1 or higher = yes, DO reattempt billing when/if a recurring payment fails. With PayPal® Pro integration, PayPal® will retry a maximum of 2 times whenever rra=”2″; after that, a Subscription would be terminated due to Max Failed Payments having been reached. With PayPal® Pro integration, the value of this attribute also configures Max Failed Payments. So a setting of rra=”2″ means that you allow a maximum of 2 failed payments.

I don’t know how to modify this setting for existing subscriptions, though. You’ll need to ask PayPal support about that.

I hope that helps. :)

Grace, if the payments weren’t recorded properly, it’s most likely that their payment time wasn’t recorded either, and this would affect the way s2Member figures out the EOT time. http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/paypal-subscription-cancellation-data-loss/#post-16668

I’m not sure how your boss changing the email address in his PayPal account affects subscriptions, if at all. I’ll leave this to Jason.

Hi Jason.

Yeah, you could do something like that. You can sell a membership at Level 1 with a few downloads available and when they hit their limit, be shown a page that offers them an upgrade to Level 2, which would allow all the downloads they want.
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Basic Download Restrictions[/hilite]
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Download Limit Exceeded Page[/hilite]

You can sell access without requiring a registration, by using the Specific Post/Page access restriction. So you create a page for each download, and put the download link in it. Video » s2Member (Specific Posts/Pages)

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Cory.

If you’re giving blogs to your users, you’ll need the Network Support one, even if it’s just one blog.

But if you’re not giving blogs to users, they are all your own blogs, and you’ll use s2Member Pro in just one of them, the Single Site license is okay.

Posted: Sunday Jun 17th, 2012 at 6:52 am #16713

Hi Christopher.

s2Member rounds the EOT time to the next day, to ensure that the user doesn’t lose access before they may expect to. So, for example, if someone pays for a year of access on 14 April 2012, he’ll have access until 15 April 2013.

I hope that helps understand it. :)

Hi Harley.

My answer to you is pretty similar to 3dp.

The member who owns/admins “msn” will have non members and members pages.

Right. You can allow s2Member to be used in the child blogs and the admins of those blogs will be able to use it to manage access to their content.

I want them to have to pay for that access. If they do not pay their bill I would like “msn” not to be accessible to anyone. Until payment is received.

I’m waiting for Jason to answer my email about this.

Each having there own set of users independent of the other pages.

Right, this is the default behavior in multisite network blogs.

I do want to say also, your plug in is AMAZING! And I look forward to doing TONS of business with you all.

Thanks so much for the kudos! Very glad you like it! :)

Hi 3dp.

Customer is directed to their specific site. This site is only available to this particular customer.
Customer is billed monthly for access to their site.

Can s2Member do this?
If so, will it require any additional customization?
Which license?
Can members be managed from the main site?

If I’m not mistaken you’ll need to use a plugin or hack that lets you share users between the main site and child blogs.

I emailed Jason asking him about the access to the child blogs when the user stops paying.

Since you’re giving users a blog, you’d need the Network Support license. http://www.s2member.com/prices/#s2-terms-blog-farming

No problem. :)

No, it’s not a problem to move it to another domain, as long as you use it in just one installation, then the Single Site license is enough. If you decide to use s2Member Pro in more than one installation, you’ll need to upgrade to the Unlimited Sites license (in your Account page you’ll find a link for this, so you only pay the difference).

I hope that helps. :)

No problem.

I heard back form Jason regarding hacking it, and this is what he said:

It’s not something that can be accomplished without introducing the possibility of new issues… The end result in the current release, won’t be one that’s as stable as it should be, with respect to this functionality. Too many structural limitations.

Instead he’ll be focusing on finishing the new s2Member, which won’t have this limitation, so it can be released soon.

Hi Ralph.

I can’t seem to achieve this setup without s2member appearing on the “free blog” installs

This conversation in the old forum should help you with that: http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=1414

I’m also uncertain of which license plan this setup might fall under

It’d fall under the Network license, since you’re giving blogs to your users, even if they won’t be using s2Member themselves. http://www.s2member.com/prices/#s2-terms-blog-farming

I’ve used s2member in the past and found the free version to be better than any of the other paid products on the market – so I’ll take this opportunity to say thanks to all involved, for your skill (very tidy code!) and generosity!

Thank you very much for the kudos! It’s very appreciated. We’re very glad you are happy with s2Member. :)

Thanks for setting that page up. I did a checkout through Express Checkout, I hit the button to agree, and got properly taken back to the page with the pro-form. /s2-test-page/?s2member_paypal_xco=s2member_pro_paypal_checkout_return&token=EC-*************

I didn’t get taken to the Membership Options page or got an error.

If you want to customize where the person will be taken after checkout, you can use the success attribute in the shortcode. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Custom Return URLs Upon Success[/hilite]

I hope that helps! :)
