Hello Tony,
s2Member doesn’t have that kind of limit, the only thing that can limit that is your server itself.

Hope this helps. :)

Hello William,
here are the answers that I know to your questions:

1.) Can I create more than 4 levels of membership?

Absolutely, this is very possible, please check this FAQ:
http://www.s2member.com/faqs/#s2-faqs-level-extensions

2.) I have hundreds/thousands of files in .pdf form. Can I auto populate the download page or do I have to create a link for each one?

I believe you would have to do this manually… There is a plugin that might help you with this process, please check this KBA (Knowledge Base Article) for more information:
http://www.s2member.com/kb/secure-file-uploader-plugin-for-s2member/

3.)Is it possible for the program to limit the number of pages on a pdf. ie; ( I have a 6 page .pdf file , The client only has paid for 4 downloads, will the program stop them from downloading the whole .pdf file or can it be limited to only the first 4 pages of the .pdf?)

This is currently not possible with s2Member, you can only sell access to an entire file, you might want to cut the file in various sections if you want this functionality, but it would only complicate the whole matter.

4.) Are the files saved in a database? Or just on the server?

The files would be saved in a special s2Member directory, in your server, not on your database. That special directory would be:

wordpress root directory -> wp-content -> s2member-files

5.) If I have thousands of documents that I want to sell. How will I know when it is time to add another database?

I am not sure I understand this question, in other words, you want to know when the database would be full? And would need to put in a new one?

6.) Does the program come with a search for documents that are being sold ?

No, s2Member doesn’t offer this option, you can however, search through the shortcodes with the search function web browsers offer.

Hope this helps. :)

Hello Mary,
each of your clients that have a website with s2Member, will need their own license.

Your unlimited site license is only for personal websites, only for websites that you are the owner of in other words.

In other words, each different owner needs his own license.

Hope this clears something up. :)

Hello there,
actually, each client needs their own s2Member account. Excerpt from the terms and conditions page:

Please note… if you’re a developer, your clients will need to purchase their own Single-Site and/or Unlimited-Site License. We will not support s2Member® Product instances on domains that you do NOT own and operate yourself. We invite all developers to join our affiliate program, and refer their clients to s2Member.com, where your clients may purchase an s2Member® Product of their own. This also gives your clients access to future releases.

Also, if you bought a single-site license, it won’t work for different websites.

Hope this clears some things up. :)

Hello Kath,
just a note, I believe emails aren’t sent in a localhost enviroment. Since localhost enviroments do not have this capability.

If I understood correctly, your site is in a local host.

Hope this helps. :)

Hello Ken,

have you looked under WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Custom Registration/Profile Fields & Options.

Have you made sure there isn’t any field there that’s being added by you?

Hope this helps. :)

Hello Ken,
please allow until Monday for an answer from the support reps.

I can’t answer your first question, but your second one, I believe this is controlled by your theme’s CSS.

You might want to look into your theme’s CSS and see if you can fix it for it to be smaller.

Hope this helps. :)

Hello Sue,
I noticed you’re using current_user_can, this will allow anything with access to level 1 to view that, so a level 2 will also be able to see it.

So you might be interested in using current_user_is, this will make sure the user is the level you’re defining, otherwise, it won’t show it.

Hope this helps. :)

Hello Bruce,
this problem sometimes happens with tinyurl.com, if you have it, I am not aware of a workable solution.

So you might be interested in using the Google URL minimizing solution.

Simply go to WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> URL Shortening Service Preference and change that option there to goo.gl and that should now work.

Hope this helps. :)

Hello Mark,
with the pro version of s2Member you can add the

success=""

and that will control the page to which users will return to once they make the payment process.

Hope this helps. :)

Hi there,
have you tried using the custom profile fields under WP Admin -> s2Member -> Registration/Profile Fields & Options?

You can create new profile fields, which will automatically be in their profile page, if you have them.

Hope this helps. :)

I believe if you made the custom profile field, couldn’t you just put it in the new language in which you want it?

Hello Mark,

Is it possible for me to add any additional forms of payment, e.g. in Russia there is a payment system called “Yandex Dengi” which is fairly widespread throughout the country. Is there a way that I can integrate this system?

Yes this is possible, but it would require experience in code. You could hire somebody at sites like eLance.com, if you can’t do it yourself.

Secondly, if I set up my free version the way that I like it, when I move up to Pro, will my current install and settings be preserved? In other words, I hope that I don’t need to go through the entire process again when I move to Pro.

When you upgrade to s2Member pro all your settings will remain there, the pro version is just an addon, it’s not a different plugin, it just adds power, so nothing is lost.

Also, thought you might be interested in this FAQ question for translations:

Thanks for the follow-up.

I understand the problem now. I missed that part.

You might want to try the following steps for that:
1. Check your spam folder.
2. Add s2member@websharks-inc.com to your address book and/or whitelist.
2. Change email addresses.
3. Try NOT to use any free email services like @yahoo.com or @hotmail.com, these services are known to block emails in mass. It’s better to use your own domain name and a private email server; or a mail server that is not subjected to bulk filtering at the MX level. For instance, GMail is known to perform well, while Yahoo/Hotmail are known to block email at the MX/SMTP level, preventing it from ever reaching the recipient (spam folder or otherwise). Yahoo/Hotmail will block just about any email that comes from someone NOT sending you a personal message. They’re VERY particular about things, and it’s for this reason that many companies do not even accept these @yahoo/hotmail addresses any longer. Better to stay away from these if you’re having problems.

Hope this helps. :)
