You can edit that link in the widget’s settings. [hilite path]Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets -> s2Member Pro Login Widget[/hilite] :)

Hi Peter.

You mean the update tool for s2Member Pro in your dashboard gave you that error when you tried it? In that case, could you try updating it manually via FTP? You can find the instructions here: s2Member® » Pro » Install/Upgrade Instructions

We recieve this message on registration.
[[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form success="http://test.squealrs.com/differentdashboard/" register="1" level="0" ccaps="" desc="Private Account setup" custom="test.squealrs.com" tp="0" tt="D" captcha="1" /]]

Do you mean that you are shown the shortcode instead of the pro-form? That would happen if s2Member Pro is not active, then its shortcodes would not be parsed. See if completing the update correctly fixes this, please.

I hope that helps. :)

Hamid, could you take a look at your extensions in this setting? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Inline File Extensions[/hilite]

Thanks for the info. :)

I looked and couldn’t find the email with the login details. Didn’t arrive for some reason… Could you please send it again? s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Enabling Open Registrations would certainly allow the customer to register, but not just the paying ones, anyone could register for free.

Also, you seem to have a cookie problem. When the user returns from checkout to the URL s2Member provides, the user gets cookied so he’ll be allowed to register even when registrations are closed, and his account would be given the access he just paid for. If you open registrations without fixing this, then customers will be given the free level, which will cause you complaints from customers saying they don’t see the paid content.

I don’t know how the JVZoo integration works, but you should check with them that you’ve done it correctly. Paid customers should be allowed to register even if Open Registration is disabled.

Hi Christopher.

That’s probably your theme adding a style that causes it. To confirm it, please change to the default theme for a moment and refresh the page with the pro-form.

To find the style causing it, you can use Firebug. http://getfirebug.com

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Jonas.

That’s weird. Are you using a caching plugin? I wonder if it has something to do with your server, since you have the problem in all test installations. Or maybe the copy of your file has something wrong, did you try a clean one out of the zip file?

This article has several tests you can do to narrow down what may be causing the problem: Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips. Could you try them please?

/ Love your work

Thanks for the kudos! :)

Hi Mike.

No, the pro-forms don’t have a way to select the payment plan yet, but you can do something that’s close to that.

You can have the selection in a page, with links to the pro-forms for each plan, which is what we did here in the Prices page. http://www.s2member.com/prices/

Or, if only the pro-form changes but the rest of the page is the same, you can adjust the pro-form’s shortcode dynamically with some PHP as explained here: Knowledge Base » Using variables in a shortcode

I hope that helps. :)

Sent PCF

Mike, i don’t see your email, there may have been an error when you sent it… Could you send it again, please? Thanks!

Thanks for the login info, Chris, I got the email and forwarded it to Jason too. And thanks for the extra info from PayPal! :)

2. Can I also use the Express Checkout API to process credit card-using customers as well?

Express Checkout will always require the user to login to PayPal for subscriptions.

You would use the Payflow Gateway Version of Express checkout to create a billing agreement

s2Member doesn’t integrate with the PayFlow Gateway. It integrates with the PayPal Pro edition that uses PayFlow’s API, but it’s PayPal Pro.

It all points back to the order of profile creation and billing API used for the different paytypes if I am following PayPal’s explanations correctly.

As far as I know, s2Member uses the Express Checkout API when the user chooses Express Checkout in the pro-form to pay.

Could you confirm that you have Express Checkout enabled in your account?

Well, if you wanted to compress all your CSS into a single file, including s2Member’s, then you’d want to stop s2Member from adding its own CSS file, since you’d have those styles already. Pre Sale FAQs » How can I prevent s2Member® Pro from loading it’s default CSS?

Hi Mike.

The recurring payments are charged by PayPal, not s2Member, with the interval you set in the pro-form’s shortcode when you sold the subscription (e.g. monthly). [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Shortcode Attributes -> rp, rt[/hilite]

I see I can create a recurring profile off that transaction. There is a button. Is that what I need to do on each recurring billing?

I don’t know about it, I’d ask PayPal support what it does.

Comment 2: Optional Trx for recurring profile 8 of RPRef RQF57C14D4FB

I don’t understand what you mean, could you explain a bit more? Thanks. :)

If it’s the entry just below in the same log, then it’s not the same transaction. Is it the same customer?

I’d like to see the logs and look at the site, if that’s okay. You can send the info privately. s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Do you only sell Buy Now in your site, or do you also have a subscription for sale?

I’ll ask Jason about the [hilite mono]`web_accept|subscr_signup`[/hilite] part.

With logging enabled, you can find the logs under /wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs/. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite]

The transaction type for Buy Now is called [hilite mono]web_accept[/hilite]. https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=developer/e_howto_html_IPNandPDTVariables

web_accept: Payment received; source is a Buy Now, Donation, or Auction Smart Logos button

Sorry, it seems that PayPal has a new interface now, but it’s not for every user, since the one we have is the one we used for the documentation. I’m not familiar with the new one, but can try to google the settings you need. Which ones have you not found yet?

Christopher, since it’s in maintainance mode, it may be possible that the return or notification from PayPal didn’t work properly, since the URLs for them could be inoperational yet.

Would it be possible to take the site out of maintainance mode for a moment to test a live 1 cent transaction and see how ti goes? :)

Hi Nick.

Yes, you can minify the CSS safely.

This article tells how to prevent s2Member from loading its CSS: Pre Sale FAQs » How can I prevent s2Member® Pro from loading it’s default CSS?

I hope that helps. :)

Jason went through his emails yesterday, but he must have missed the one I sent about this. I just emailed him again.

In the meantime, just in case he requires it to review your installation, could you send your site’s info? s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Mike, you too, please.

Thanks! :)

Hi Chris.

I am having similar issues. Is there any way to extend the link expiration period for confirmation of new registrants with auto generated passwords?

You can try another shortening service for the links. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› URL Shortening Service[/hilite]

Or do you mean after they register the account and get sent the New User email with the password? That password won’t expire.

Hi Colin.

– If this should happen again and the customer was *not* able to successfully register, what is the real solution?

I don’t know what’s causing the problem in your case. Do other members register fine with the access link sent to them in the signup confirmation email?

You can try using a different URL shortening service (e.g. goo.gl). [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› URL Shortening Service[/hilite]

In my case, I logged in and saw that the user did successfully register after being automatically re-directed back to s2member from paypal. Apparently he then tried to click on the link that was sent to him in another e-mail.

So what was the error he had? From what you say, he did register successfuly after returning from PayPal, but couldn’t register with the link from the email? That’d probably be because he had already registered with the credentials s2Member set after checkout for his registration.

– Should I send you the s2member logs so that you can determine if all is well? I peeked in the logs but did not see anything odd with this registration.

Sure, you can send them if you want. s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Yeah, you can use the s2Member Pro login widget in one of the widget areas, or through PHP in the body of your pages/posts.
[hilite path]Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets -> s2Member Pro Login Widget[/hilite]
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Pro Login Widget (via PHP)[/hilite]
