Then i guess my explanation does not apply. However, keep that in mind as it can happen in that scenario. Hopefully a support rep will be able to help you soon.

Kesava, i have a whole site with video tutorials that are hidden behind membership. I am using Custom capabilities to protect the pages. I am using Easy Video Player 2 (it is not free though) and once configured, it hosts the videos on Amazons3 and it is VERY inexpensive (i dont think i have paid more than $2/month since i started, last year).

I think there is another way to do it, but it can be problematic with bigger files. I have workshops that are 50 minutes long on Amazons3 and no problem. The videos are not downloadable unless i want to, in which case i offer a different link for the user.

James, is it possible that the member was already registered level 0 when he paid the transaction to go up to level 1? I noticed that if a member is already registered but NOT LOGGED IN when they pay for the transaction, it does not update correctly. I have that problem with ccaps that are not added so i have to check every paid transaction to make sure the level or ccaps are correctly set, or i have to do it manually.

If this is not your case, then, hopefully someone more experienced will be able to help.

I think that most themes work fine with s2M. ONly very occasionally we will hear someone having issues. Give your favorite theme a try. It is most likely to work.

Personally, i use Headway Theme, because i am visual and cannot code. And it works fine. Many others are using a wide array of themes without issues either but i cannot name them. They might come in and list what they are using.

Cristian, with my plugin s2M+MC, it will use the email address as a username if the member registers through the MC registration form instead of the WP form. And it is working. I wonder if that limitation of only alphanumerical characters is not only for going from WP?

Ah…makes sense. Thanks. I would not have thought of it.

Do you have a particular reason to not want email address as username? I have seen sites where that is automatically my username. Just curious (i would not have an answer to your question either)

My guess is that you will need individual pro-forms, one for each level, and when you set your coupon, you can specify on which page it can be used,, The coupon is set up with these variables:
code|$ or %|Expiration Date|ra or ta|Post or Page ID

So your code could use that last variable to associate it to the page where you will post your pro-form.

Would that work for your situation?

No, i meant being able to drip based on the time of a specific transaction, not “the first registration” or something like that. I talked to my developper, and he feels it would be easy to code that option in his already coded script (i think it is a script) for the “access after this transaction” that he did for me already. So, without an ETA and if it is not sure that function will be in the next release (especially the idea of possibly more than one dripping at the time), i will likely ask him to work on that.

Any idea if this might be part of the next release or not? And if so, any new ETA?

Thanks. It tells me that it wont be useful for me then. I’ll have to use a similar hack i got coded for something else as i would need to compare to the timestamp of a particular transaction in time. Thanks.

You might use combined conditionals and ccaps. Could you share an example of what you would want to achieve?

I think the custom capabilities will probably be useful for you, along with conditionals.
Check out the videos at the bottom of the page about Custom capabilities and Advanced conditionals. You will surely find what you need.

And the good thing is that the ccap that is “extracted” from the transaction will not interfere with the other ccaps. And then, the conditionals can be used in shortcodes just like any other.

WP-Affiliate is another Affiliate plugin (not free though). The only “bug” is that it uses cv1 as one variable so if you want to use custom variable in some of the shortcodes in s2M, you should use cv2 and leave cv1 space blank. But it works fine otherwise.

I know of a plugin that will sync the profile info like first name, surname, email, but not with custom fields. Maybe Cristian would know more?

I got this working now with the help of the developper. He added a command to the php version of the paypal button code that will add a ccap corresponding to the time of the transaction, added a hack in the hack file (don’t ask me to explain, i could not) that will read a function that will be added to any conditional in a shortcode.

What it does is the possibility of having a user buy a subscription and give him access to content created (or assigned to a time) after that purchase, no matter when they buy the subscription.

Now working on some clear documentation (he is from Bulgaria and his English is not fluent). The package will be made available to those interested. Contact me at cassel at creationcassel dot com if you are interested.

May i ask a basic question? Where is the widget’s CSS to edit? What file is it? I could definitely style it a bit better than it is by default!

I can live with that, since i know why that was happening.
Maybe someone can fix that in WP and make lots of users happy!

From the screenshots, it looks like it also provides a list of members with membership coming to expiration. This might be the answer to some requests (partly at least).

Yikes! Considering that i am just about allergic to html and cannot code anything on my own, this is a tall order! Well, at least i know there IS a solution and i am not hallucinating!
Thanks anyways.

Thanks for the clarification. I am planning something so i could have two options for memberships, either two options to give from the start, or one option to upgrade current membership, which would include the same ccaps PLUS something else. This will make the process as easy as i hoped for (just wanted to make sure).

Yes you can. That is done with shortcodes and conditionals. For example, in s2Member > API/Scripting > Simple/Shortcode conditionals. The very first example does exactly what you are looking for:

[s2If is_user_logged_in()]
Content for anyone that is logged in, regardless of their Membership Level.
[/s2If] [s2If !is_user_logged_in()]
Some public content or invitation to log in. They’re NOT logged in.
A leading !exclamation means false.
[/s2If]

I use that on my own site. For example, the forum page is only accessible if you are logged in.
http://scrapbookcampus.com/forums/

If you were logged in, you would see the welcome paragraph and the forum itself.
