Chase, today another member here said that he has PayPal Pro in Australia. Thought you may be interested in checking out his thread: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/paypal-pro-does-work-in-australia/

That’s awesome. It’ll make a ton of Aussies happy. :)

Thanks, got all the logs now.

In the authnet-api.log I found at least three subscription IDs that are repeated over and over in lots of transactions. The first one for each seems to be a normal transaction, without an error, but then it starts repeating with the error. While other transactions don’t seem to have that error.

The entries with the error, all seem to have to do with a wp-cron job, I’m not sure why yet. You’re not getting this error when the users checkout, do you?

I’d like to take a look at your site, please. Include the address of the page where you have the pro-form. s2Member® » Private Contact Form

That is awesome news, George! Thank you for the update! :)

I wonder when they changed that, we didn’t know.

So you have a PayPal Pro account that uses the PayFlow API, right? It’s not a PayFlow Pro account, right? s2Member doesn’t integrate with PayFlow Pro yet.

As Eduán said, please verify that you have a Membership Options Page and follow the troubleshooting tips, please.

When you edit those pages, does the s2Member box show them as restricted at Level 0?

Also make sure you have the Deactivation Safeguards enabled. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Deactivation Safeguards[/hilite]

Lee, could you email us the site details, including the page where the button is? Thanks! s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Weird. I can see the page if I’m logged in to my account, but not if I log out. There seems to be a problem with the forum script when reopening a thread. I’ll ask Jason about it.

I sent you an email to the address in your account, you can reply to it with the log files.

Thanks! You too! :)

Glad you solved it! Thanks for the update. :)

Out of curiosity, what plugin was it?

Glad I could help! I’m glad you solved it. Thanks for the update. :)

I didn’t see errors in the logs. I see in your shortcode that, although it’s a one-time payment, it’s a subscription instead of a buy-now transaction. Could you try changing the [hilite mono]rr[/hilite] attribute to [hilite mono]BN[/hilite] (buy now)? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Shortcode Attributes -> rr[/hilite]

[hilite mono][[s2Member-PayPal-Button level="3" ccaps="" desc="Paramedic / Holiday Special" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="USD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="medictests.com" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="0.01" rp="3" rt="M" rr="BN" rrt="" rra="1" image="default" output="button" /]][/hilite]

You can use that shortcode to do a live 1 cent transaction to test it. Make sure you’re logged out when you do the test, so it goes towards a new account you can register after checkout, to see if it gets created at Level 3.

Making it a buy-now transaction, it’s also possible for the person to pay with his card instead of being required to login to his PayPal account, as is the case with subscriptions.

Let me know how it goes, please.

If you’re using s2Member shortcodes for buttons or pro-forms, make sure you update them with the new domain name you migrated the site to. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Shortcode Attributes -> custom (Explained)[/hilite]

Also make sure that any mention of the previous domain name in the database, is updated to the new one.

And be consistent in everything with your use of www, or lack of it. Knowledge Base » Don't mix www and without

What else? I’m not sure what you mean by “did you change the default browser”.

Sorry, I meant the default theme.

I can’t change the theme as there has been no change to it, and the client has people signing in at all hours to use the programs that they signed up for.

It’s a quick test, and you can do it at a time with little or no traffic. Or you can install a clean WordPress with s2Member and test there.

I had a colleague test it and he says it did work for him (he has IE 9) but I can’t duplicate that no matter how long I wait. It’s like the button is dead.

He has IE9 for Mac or Windows? What do you have?

Hi Core.

No, s2Member doesn’t have a check for unique values in custom profile fields. I have added that to our list of feature requests.

If you need to do that, you’ll have to customize the code that validates the pro-form (browser and server side).

The only few times I saw a problem with IE mentioned (usually IE9) it was a JavaScript problem introduced by a plugin or the theme, that’s why I suggested the troubleshooting tips article, so you do the plugins and theme tests there.

The article also suggests creating a clean installation of WordPress with just s2Member to see if you can reproduce the problem that way.

If the problem changes based on the browser, then it’d be a JavaScript issue. s2Member works well with IE, so if there is a problem, it’s being introduced by something else.

What tests in the article did you try? Did you change to the default theme? Did you deactivate the other plugins?

Glad that solved your problem, Gray! :)

For email deliverability, there are the things Raam mentioned, but you should also edit the email so it’s not the default that most s2Member users have. Make it unique to your site and check that it doesn’t trigger spam flags in the filteres. Some email autoresponder services give your emails a spam score when you create them for the email sequences, you can use that and then copy that to your s2Member signup confirmation email panel.

William, the signup confirmation email only gets sent to paying new customers. If you need to send other emails to a new user on registration, you could use a list server integration (e.g. MailChimp, AWeber) and have the email sent from there. Video » s2Member (API List Servers)

Hi Aymeric.

You could use the Payment Notification in combination with a custom script that you create to send the invoice. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Notifications -› Payment Notifications[/hilite]

Posted: Tuesday Nov 20th, 2012 at 9:24 am #32089

Hi Rob.

There may be a problem with their funding for the PayPal account, or maybe in approving the card payment. If s2Member is sending that, then it’d be because PayPal told s2Member that the person paid, so the signup confirmation email gets sent immediately. If the payment then fails, and PayPal tells s2Member, s2Member would revoke the access, but that seems to happen after the email got sent.

I’d like to see your log entries for these users, if possible, since it may help understand what’s happening. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite]

nope. that didn’t work either. I even created a new button at http://beautifulobscene.com/new-join/ to test that.

I see you removed all the www’s from the shortcodes. From what you say, you seem to have made a test purchase after fixing that. Could you please show us the log entries corresponding to that test purchase?

I logged into your FTP and looked for the logs in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs but there’s nothing there, although you have logging enabled, so I’m guessing you deleted the logs after downloading them, maybe. If you don’t have them anymore, could you do a new test transaction to generate new logs then?

Thanks!

Hi Mary.

Could you please try the the tests suggested in this article? Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

Thanks!

I don’t think it’s possible, but I’ll ask Jason about that one.

Ah, got it. Glad you found the problem! Thanks for the update. :)

Hi James.

I looked that error up and found this: http://community.developer.authorize.net/t5/Integration-and-Testing/The-VITAL-identification-numbers-are-incorrect-Call-Merchant/td-p/614

Have you contacted your Merchant Service Provider (the people who issued the merchant account) about this?
