Hmm… If you can give the buy-now customers another level, then you could set the custom profile field for that level only. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields -> Edit field -> Applicable Membership Levels[/hilite]

Hi Sacha.

Well, those fields are not for the profile, they’re required to process the payment. In a registration form you don’t get those, unless you add them with custom fields.

Hi Andrew.

Well, you could create/upgrade the account manually for the parent once you receive the payment for tuition. Would that work for you?

Or, if you receive the payment via one of the gateways s2Member integrates with, then the upgrade would be automatic. Just say they’re paying for tuition and and membership access is extra, instead of saying they’re paying for the membership.

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Megan.

1. Yes.

2. You can explain to them how to pay you by check, yes. Not sure what you mean by sign-up form to print. You can have the person register free and then upgrade his account manually after you get the check, though.

3. You’d create those separate access groups and then offer them to the user to purchase the one they way. You can use a separate button for each choice. You could customize the button’s code so the person can change the number of years.

4. No, s2Member doesn’t make this easy yet, we’re working on it. You could integrate with a service like AWeber or MailChimp and schedule emails to go out on those dates for now, though.

5. I don’t understand this one.

6. s2Member Pro has a User Export tool you can use for this. You can tell who’s expired by their user role, if they’re Subscriber/Level0, then he’s not a paid member, but if you allow free registrations then the role doesn’t tell if he was or wasn’t a paid member before. You can use the Notifications API to contact a custom script of yours that keeps track of members and their changes in status, too.

7. No, this isn’t possible with the current s2Member either. We’re working on making this possible too.

I don’t have a date for any of the features I mentioned being worked on, but I say it so you know we’re not ignoring those needs.

I hope that helps. :)

Great job on the integration so far. :)

It’s like Raam said, but I’ll email Jason in case he can tell you where to look off the top of his head. I don’t know how soon he’ll reply, since he’s really busy with the code for the new major release, though.

No, there isn’t a hack for it yet. You could use the payment notification to run a script that updates an EOT time in the profile, but if that happens, then I’m not sure if a cancellation of the subscription will update the EOT time, since there is one in the profile already, you’d have to check that too and change if it needed.

The major release that Jason is coding now, will allow for this feature you’re requesting. We wanted to have it ready a couple weeks ago, but it’s been a lot of work and it’s still got some weeks to go, I’m sorry to say. But it’s coming, that’s for sure, so look forward to it. :)

Well, the Subscriber role is what s2Member considers Level 0, a free account. s2Member doesn’t check for meta fields like the one they mentioned.

You could create a customization that will update that meta field depending on what you sold them with s2Member, though. This is not something we can do for you, but you could look for a WP developer in freelance sites like jobs.wordpress.net.

I hope that helps. :)

465 seems correct from what I’ve seen.

Kath, at this point I’m a bit confused about what is working and not working for you. Could you explain, after the recent changes you’ve made, what is happening when you make the test purchase? Give all the details you can, since I can’t see it for myself. If you can take screenshots, that’d be very helpful too.

Thanks!

Thanks, Terri. I’m glad you solved it. :)

You can change the order of the custom profile fields from here: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields[/hilite]

You can customize the pro-form’s template, if needed: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Shortcode Attributes (Explained) -> template[/hilite]

I’ll let Jason know about your request for the video.

Here’s a thread that may help with the username field thing: http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=14806

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Rich.

Thanks for the heads up on this! I’m informing Jason, the Lead Developer, about this right now. He should get to my email soon, I’ll post back when I hear back from him.

Thanks for your patience. :)

Are you using one of s2Member’s pro-forms for this? If so, it has a captcha, no need to use SI Captcha. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Shortcode Attributes (Explained) -> captcha[/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

Posted: Thursday Apr 19th, 2012 at 4:23 am #11201

Hi RK.

I don’t know if a compiled list for the shortcodes exists, but you can find most of them in the Scripting API page. Then there are the buttons and pro-forms shortcodes, the badge one in General Options, and the ones for the downloads… I think that’s it.

[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting[/hilite]
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options[/hilite]
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Security Badge[/hilite]

What do you need it for? What kind of shortcode did you want?

Posted: Thursday Apr 19th, 2012 at 4:20 am #11199

Yes, for 1st time visitors you could use the Offer on Login feature. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› One-Time Offers (Upon Login)[/hilite]

To know who’s registered while they’re logged out is not something s2Member has a feature for, though.

I hope that helps. :)

Hey there. :)

So you don’t want a login form in the page you create, but a link to the login page? I’m not sure I understand.

Posted: Thursday Apr 19th, 2012 at 4:12 am #11196

Cool. :)

Posted: Thursday Apr 19th, 2012 at 4:11 am #11195

Hi Kelly.

You can edit the EOT time manually from the user’s profile, if you need to. If there was a time already set, then just edit it to add the time you want to give her. If she has a paid subscription, then there won’t be an time set for EOT until the subscription ends, so what you can do instead is refund one of the payments you received, or part of it.

I hope that helps.

Hmm… I’m not sure how to do that with buy-now buttons. It’d be simpler with the pro-form, cause then you use a customized one for the buy-now transaction, but then, if you don’t have PayPal Pro and use Express Checkout, the customer will be required to have a PayPal account, which is not the case in buy-now buttons.

What do you need different in the registration form for buy-now transactions?

Posted: Thursday Apr 19th, 2012 at 4:01 am #11193

Hi David.

Could you post the entries from the other log files for this transactions too, please?

Thanks!

When you say “a paypal module php script”, then you’re talking about a script ouside WordPress, right? Well, then you’ll not have the get_user_field function available to you if it’s not defined in your script.

That’s a function s2Member adds, and that happens in WordPress. You’d either have to include WP to your script or query the WP db directly from your script.

I hope that helps. :)

Yeah, that’s definitely something that needs improvement, and it’s one of the main things we’re improving right now in the coming major release Jason is developing. We had hoped to have it ready for early April, but it’s a big project and it’s taking a few more weeks, but it’s coming.

Posted: Wednesday Apr 18th, 2012 at 11:22 pm #11185

I’m glad it helps. :)

Funny. It’s obviously something with your MAMP installatoin, then. I’ve known other developers work without a problem in MAMP, but I guess yours is different in some way? I’m not sure.

Ah, I see. So you want a sort of members directory?

Well, BuddyPress has something like that. There are plugins that let you do that too. You may need to do some customizations to those to display exactly what you want, but it’s not impossible. s2Member doesn’t have a user directory yet, but we have the intention to add it, although we don’t have a date for it.

You can also try using the get_users function to create the list, and filter it by user role to get the s2Member Level 1 users. http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_users

I hope that helps. :)
