Hi Stéphane, You said,
Please see this description from the bottom of the prices page:
Also, after creating your Multisite network, please navigate to Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Multisite (Config) -> Multisite Registration Configuration. You will see lots of documentation in there, including an option that asks “What Do You Plan to Offer?” . |

Mary, When you say “when a subscriber has been active for a given period, he’ll be promoted to a superior level”, what does “promoted to a superior level” look like from s2Member’s side? Does their Membership Level change? If so, how does it change? If the membership level doesn’t change, then what indicates such a change? If you’re changing their Membership Level manually to indicate they’ve been “promoted to a superior level”, then the list transition settings will work for this (manual role changes also trigger list transitions). |

Have you double-checked your IPN integration settings? Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› PayPal® IPN Integration There’s also an IPN Message Log on PayPal’s website, somewhere within your account. It’s located in different places depending on the account, so I suggest looking around for it. That log will tell you if PayPal successfully sent IPN messages to your site or if there was an error. |

Hi Anthony, I apologize for the delay in responding. This does sound like a temporary glitch on PayPal’s side and I’m glad to hear that it appears to be working now. Let us know if you have any other problems. |

Hi Wayne, Please see my replies below:
s2Member Pro offers the s2Member Pro Login Widget. You can add this widget to any widgetized area of your WordPress theme. If you want to style the login widget, or create your own login form, you’ll need to do that yourself.
s2Member uses the WordPress authentication system. We don’t provide any direct integration with Facebook, however 3rd party WordPress plugins (like Login Radius) might be compatible with s2Member. The only way to find out is to test it (you can test with the free version of s2Member, as the Pro version uses the same authentication mechanism).
Yes, you can have separate areas of the site for free and non-free content. You can also use bbPress with s2Member (see Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Other Integrations -› bbPress® in the free version of the plugin). If you want to learn more about the plugin, I highly recommend watching some of the tutorial videos. |

This is a problem with the WordPress Visual Editor. It happens with everyone who uses a plugin that allows inserting PHP code in WordPress posts/pages. If you’re going to be inserting PHP code, you must never use the Visual Editor. That’s really the only solution: Never use the Visual Editor. (You can disable the Visual Editor on your account by editing your WordPress profile and disabling it.) |

Hi Mark, That is not possible without hiring a programmer to write some custom code that recreates the WordPress Create User functionality. Since you have s2Member Pro, the programmer could make use of the s2Member Pro Remote API: Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Remote Operations API. If you need to hire a programmer, we recommend posting your job at jobs.wordpress.net. |

If the user registers for a second membership while logged out of your site, then s2Member will just see them as a new user (they’ll have to use a different email address to signup, since WordPress won’t let them register the same email address twice; all email addresses have to be unique). If the member is logged in and they try checking out using a normal signup form (i.e., a non-Billing Modification form), then I believe they get an error that says the invoice is already paid. If the member is logged in and they use a Billing Modification form (Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Billing Modification Forms) to upgrade or downgrade their account, their ccaps will follow them to whatever Level they are upgraded/downgraded to unless you specifically delete all of them (using the special -all in the Custom Capability field). So, if a member at Level 1 has ccap1,ccap2 and then they use a Billing Modification form to upgrade to Level 2, and on that Billing Modification form you’ve specified that ccap3 should be added, then after they upgrade they will have ccap1,ccap2,ccap3. However, if on the Billing Modification form you specify -all,ccap3, then after they upgrade to Level 2 they will only have ccap3. |

Hi Brian, Yes, the log files will give us more information about what’s happening on the back end. If you’re making test transactions (i.e., simulating the purchase by pretending to be a buying customer) and you’re not receiving any emails or anything, then I suspect there’s either a problem with your testing process or there’s a problem with the s2Member -> CCBill communication. |

Hi Aaron, To apply the discount only to the first month, you’ll need to make sure you generate your Authorize.net Pro-Form with an Initial/Trial amount that matches your recurring amount. So, in Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Authorize.Net® Pro Forms -› Membership Level # Forms, you would set “I’ll offer the first 1 month @ $25” and then you’d do “Then, I want to charge $25 Monthly“. Set your description and any Custom Capabilities (if you’re using them) and then press Generate Form Code. Now, when you create your Pro-Coupon code, you need to make sure the coupon code only applies to the Initial/Trial amount (the $25 that you set above). As per the example in Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Pro Coupon Codes -› Coupon Code Configuration File: SAVE-10|10%||ta-only ( 10% off an Initial/Trial Amount; the ta=”” attribute in your Shortcode ) So to create a coupon that subtracts $25 from the Initial/Trial amount, you would do this: SAVE-25|25.00||ta-only Now, anyone who enters the SAVE-25 coupon into the Pro-Form will automatically receive the first month free and then be charged $25/month thereafter. |

Hi Dean, With s2Member you can generate buttons that will redirect the user to your chosen payment gateway. After making their payment, they will be given access to your site at the Level you specified when generating the button. If you want to also offer free registration to your members using the free version of s2Member, you’ll need to point them to the default WordPress registration page (e.g., /wp-login.php?action=register). If you want to create Free Registration forms or offer registration before payment with s2Member, you’ll need to purchase s2Member Pro. |

Hi Mary, List Transitions will work automatically if the user is being upgraded from one level to another (using a billing modification form Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Billing Modification Forms), or if the user’s account has expired from an EOT, or if their payment failed or subscription was canceled. All of this also assumes you’ve configured automatic transitions in Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / List Servers -› Automate Unsubscribes/Opt-Outs. So, if a user at Level 2 signs up for 6 months of access, then after 6 months their account will automatically be handled as per your settings in Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Automatic EOT Behavior and they will automatically be transitioned according to your list transition settings in Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / List Servers -› Automate Unsubscribes/Opt-Outs. |

Hi Jaime, I just tested this with my local test installation (using s2Member Pro) and after I installed the BuddyPress plugin I was able to register separately with BuddyPress (using the /register/ page that was created by BuddyPress) and also register separately with a Pro-Form (created with s2Member in Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms). So, you should have no problem pointing people at the two different registrations with s2Member Pro and BuddyPress. |

Fede, Please see Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Unique IP Access Restrictions. By default, 5 IP addresses can access the same link. If you want to make that restriction tighter, you can do so in that section. |

Hello, You may want to add this hack that sends an email whenever the role is changed. You could customize it to only send emails when the role changes from s2member_level0 to s2member_level1 (i.e., Free Subscriber to Paid Subscriber). Regarding the on-screen wording: I’m not sure what you mean. If you want to send the customer to a specific thank you page after checkout, you can use the success=”” shortcode attribute in your button/form (see Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Shortcode Attributes (Explained)). |

Hi Benny, It sounds like there might be some kind of JavaScript conflict somewhere on your page (generated by your theme or a plugin). You may want to try disabling plugins one-by-one, or consulting with the YouTube Developers forum or the YouTube Product Forum. |

Hi Mark, Yes, you can manually specify an Automatic EOT Time when you create their account manually. There’s a field called “Automatic EOT Time” when you create their account manually:

Hi Jaime, In Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields there’s a section called “Integrate Custom Registration/Profile Fields with BuddyPress?”. You could try not integrating s2Member Custom Fields with BuddyPress (i.e., leaving those checkboxes unchecked) and that might allow you to have separate registration fields for BuddyPress and Pro-Form registrations. However, the best way to find out is to experiment and test it. We don’t have experience integrating s2Member with 3rd Party Plugins like Buddypress User Account Type Lite, so it’s not possible for us to offer specific advice. Regarding a member directory: s2Member does not have any member directory features, however this thread offers some alternative suggestions. |

Hi Fede, The link that s2Member generates contains a special key that gives the user access. If you’re protecting a page with s2Member’s Specific Post/Page feature, you must use the s2Member generated shortlink to access the page. I would recommend making a second, unprotected page for the Clickbank thank you, something that gives the customer instructions for checking their email and looking for the shortlink that will give them access. |

Hello, IPN communication between PayPal and s2Member is what enables automatic downgrading of members. For this to work, the IPN integration needs to be set up properly. Also, the s2Member accounts must contain the PayPal Subscriber ID so that s2Member knows which account should be downgraded. The Subscriber ID is stored automatically when they signup through your site using an s2Member-generated form/button. Please double-check that your s2Member accounts show the corresponding Subscriber ID that matches their recurring profile on PayPal. Please make sure your IPN Integration is correct: Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› PayPal® IPN Integration. Also, if you haven’t enabled logging, I suggest doing so: Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Account Details -› Logging. The log files in wp-content/s2member-logs/ will help in diagnosing any issues with IPN communication. |
