Hi Becky, Can you explain which country list you’re referring to? I don’t know of any country list that comes with s2Member. You can add your own custom fields that include a list of countries that you’ve populated yourself (see Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields), but I don’t believe there is any preset list of countries anywhere. |

Hi Laurent, The mu-plugins folder isn’t for Multisite; the mu stands for Must Use:
The mu-plugins directory holds Must Use Plugins. These plugins are activated and run automatically with WordPress and do not require manual activation.
The code I linked to should go in wp-content/mu-plugins/ regardless of whether you’re using Multisite. I’m currently using that code on my personal site and it’s working as expected, so I’m not sure what might be wrong with yours. Unfortunately, debugging custom code is outside the scope of our support policy (see s2Member® » Support Policy » Outside Scope). |

Hi Matt, Yes, you can change the shortcode attributes on the PayPal buttons in the free version. :) Simply follow the same steps I explained earlier, except use the button generator in Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons. |

Hi Rich, s2Member does not have an affiliate system built-in, however we integrate with iDevAffiliate and ShareASale. We also have a system for integrating other unsupported tracking methods using our API notifications. s2Member does not have a support request system. Membership management is currently done using the WordPress users panel (all s2Member members are actually WordPress users with additional features to track their subscription ID, custom capabilities, and any additional information that you want to store using custom registration/profile fields). We are working to overhaul the way users are managed in the next major release of s2Member. If you’re curious about how s2Member looks, I recommend installing the free version or watching a few of the tutorial videos. |

Hi Ranner, s2Member can certainly solve the problem you describe with manual level assignment causing delays. When a member signs up with s2Member, their account is automatically activated with the correct level as soon as s2Member has received confirmation of payment from the payment gateway. s2Member also offers the ability to sell specific pages on a one-off basis. A user could purchase the page for a newspaper, make their payment, and then receive an email with a temporary link (you get to determine how long the link should be valid) that would give them access to the WordPress page with the newspaper. This would all happen without the need for an account (i.e., if they want access to other newspapers, they’d need to purchase them individually). With regards to payment gateways, we unfortunately don’t support QBMS. A list of supported gateways can be found here: Pre Sale FAQs » What payment gateways does s2Member® support? Let us know if you have any other questions. |

Hi Jacqueline, Can you give us more details about how you created the signup button? If you can share the URL to your page so we can have a look, that would be helpful as well. |

Hi Peter, Have you read the documentation found at Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Tracking -› Signup Tracking Codes?
Can you please confirm that your tests have involved using the payment gateway (i.e., non-free accounts) and that you’ve checked for the tracking code in all the locations mentioned above? |

Hi Derek, That’s certainly possible. In fact, that sounds a lot like a client portal. The video below explains how you can set that up. Please let me know if that doesn’t answer your question.

Hi Deyson, If you’re using the Buy Now button, then the Automatic EOT Time should be set immediately after the user makes a purchase. (When generating the Pro Form, the Buy Now and the Subscription options look very similar in the UI drop-down box. The Buy Now option is listed as “One Time ( for 1 year access, non-recurring, no trial )”; the subscription version says “One Time ( for 1 year access, non-recurring )”… notice how “no trial” is missing. You can also look at the button shortcode: if rr=”0″, that’s a Subscription button; if rr=”BN”, that’s a Buy Now button. Take a look at the profiles of a few active members and see if the Automatic EOT time has been set. If not, then you might be using the subscription version of that button, in which case s2Member will wait until it receives an IPN message from the payment gateway. If you are using the Buy Now version of the button and the profiles already have the Automatic EOT Time set, you’ll need to extract that time from the database before you can display it (s2Member doesn’t have an easy way of displaying that data). The EOT time is stored as a Unix timestamp, so you’ll need to convert that to a readable date before displaying it on your page/menu. This thread from the old forum explains where you can find the Automatic EOT Time in the database and the PHP date() function is what you’ll want to use to convert the timestamp to something readable. |

Hi Matt, Yes, s2Member can offer semi-annual subscriptions. That isn’t an available option in the UI drop-down box when generating the payment button/form, but the shortcode attributes can easily be modified for whatever frequency you desire (for example you’d simply set rp=”6″ and rt=”M” for ‘repeat every 6 months’). I unfortunately don’t know of any specific gateways that accept $20k transactions, sorry. Let us know if you have any other questions. |

Hi Deyson, For recurring subscriptions, s2Member does not calculate and store the termination date for the members. That information is up to the payment gateway (e.g., if the payment fails several times after 1 month, the payment gateway notifies s2Member that the account should be terminated/demoted). Only when s2Member receives an IPN message from the payment gateway indicating a refund, chargeback, cancellation, payment failure, or an end of term has occurred, only then will s2Member assign the EOT Time to the users account. Until then, that field remains empty. We are working to improve this functionality in the next major release of s2Member to provide better ways of reporting membership status, payment amounts/times, etc. |

Hello, s2Member integrates with MailChimp and Aweber to provide those features. If you instead want to send emails from within WordPress, you’d need to use a 3rd party plugin, as s2Member does not offer that feature. With s2Member you can offer a subscription to your subscribers so they pay you for access to the content on your site, however the recommended way to handle email delivery of that content is to use one of the supported list services. |

Hi Deyson, You may want to look into using the Pro Login Widget, which can also be called dynamically using PHP: Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Pro Login Widget (via PHP) If you want a JavaScript popup to appear when the Login menu item is clicked, you’d need to create that part yourself and then include the s2Member Pro Login Widget. |

Yes, s2Member supports MailChimp and many of our customers are actively using that integration. There are no known problems.
No, s2Member does not have any mechanism for sending mass-emails to members. Since the s2Member members are simply WordPress users, you could use a 3rd party plugin that allows you to send mass-emails. We are working towards improving this functionality in the next major release of s2Member.
Yes, however those details are not viewable from within the administration panels. s2Member keeps track of them mainly for internal purposes. If you need to view a list of last payments or amounts paid, for example, you’d need to write a custom script that extracts that information from the database and/or write a custom plugin that records that information to separate database table whenever a transaction happens (this is made easy through the use of hooks). We are working towards improving this functionality in the next major release of s2Member, along with making access to financial information from within s2Member easier.
No, there is no way to sort by payment date. That’s something you’d need to do from the payment gateway (e.g., PayPal). As explained in the previous answer, s2Member does not “manage” the financials for the membership; it deals with restricting/controlling access and handling payments through the payment gateways. Again, we are working towards improving this functionality in the next major release of s2Member. |

Hi Deyson, We are looking into incorporating additional payment gateway support into the next major version of s2Member, but I do not have any details beyond that. It’s unlikely that a 3rd party plugin would add Stripe.com support to s2Member, but you can certainly give it a try! :) |

Hi Drew, Yes, s2Member can handle that type of payment system, but you’d need to code up the registration form that would then pass along to another page the “total payment” value (which you’d calculate on the form that you create, depending on which chapter/affiliate was selected). When you pass that “total payment” value to the checkout page, the s2Member shortcode that generates to payment form/button would by dynamically configured with the price you passed to it. See this thread on the old forum for more information: http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=1604 You can also use one level (Free Subscribers) and then use s2Member Custom Capabilities to differentiate between members. Each member would get a specific Custom Capability that marks him/her as having selected a specific chapter/affiliate during signup. (You’d need to pass that Custom Capability to the s2Member signup form as well.) The video below on Custom Capabilities may be helpful in better understanding how those work:
Also, I suggest taking a tour of the videos section to get a better feel for how the plugin works. If you need something that is more akin to a directory (i.e., has lots of features for creating member-viewable list of users with their associated chapters/affiliates, etc.), then you’ll need to use a 3rd party plugin to accomplish that. We’re working on improving things in this regard for the next major release of the plugin. |

Hi Laura, The s2Member roles are designed to work only with the ‘Subscriber’ WordPress role. If you want to change the roles/capabilities of the s2Member roles, you’ll need to use a WordPress Role Editor plugin and make those changes manually. However, there are several security concerns that you’ll want to address if you do this. Please see this thread on the old forum system for more information. |

Hi Kim, Have you tried generating the CAPTCHA keys (or re-generating, if you’re already using your own) as described in Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› CAPTCHA Anti-Spam Security? And to confirm, you are referring to the CAPTCHA on the Pro-Form, correct? For the email issues, have you followed the steps explained in Knowledge Base » Troubleshooting Email Delivery Problems? |
