It only happened with this member (although i didn`t have cancellations in a long time). I also had one instance where Paypal confirmed that *I* cancelled a subscription, which i never did. I tried getting answer from Paypal, but after sending a request to the tech, i didn`t hear from them yet. No idea if it could be related or not. As for the log, i have no clue what i would be looking for or where. Any hint to help? |

Then, i guess s2M didn’t work as intended as the member lost the access to the course immediately upon cancelling the payment. From what i can read now, it should s2Member ” process an EOT until the User has completely used up the time they paid for.” Any idea what could have caused this unexpected behavior? |

If you are using ccaps, you can surely create a page with a list of various pages, posts, documents, with the links inside conditionals. You could do something like this (not the actual code here): if user has ccap = page23: I am actually in the process of creating such a page for my own site. I made a “MyAccount” page and a link that will appear once the user is logged in, and that MyAccount page will display ALL the possible ccaps, so each user will see what they are entitled to, depending on the ccaps they have. |

Aaron, is it possible that you are using your admin account? the admin account will automatically send you to the admin dashboard when you log in. Maybe you can create another account with a different email address that you can use to test “actual” non-admin members? I usually work with two separate browsers, with two different accounts. That way, i can work on the dashboard with my admin account and still see what a non-logged in or other ‘regular’ member would see. |

I might have a partial solution for you. There is a hack that Krum created that allows multiple courses (different ccaps) to be run concurrently, even with the dripping, meaning that each course is based on the time of purchase of the particular course, and not based on when the member registered to the site (or changed level). You can read about it here. As i said it is NOT specifically created for individual EOT per course, but maybe the programmer could tweak the current hack to address that particular need. Maybe there is another way, but from what i have read around the forum, i think the EOT is limited to one, at least in the current standard version of s2M. Good luck anyways. |

I am not sure if this would be helpful for you but i am in the process of creating something like that for my site. I created a “My Account” page that is linked on top of all the pages of the site, as long as the member is logged in. Then, i plan on using conditionals to display all the courses and content the member is allowed to access, complete with the links. I am hoping i can also add other information specifically using variables. Maybe something like that would be possible for you, giving the member, the impression of a unique page for them with all the information specific to their account? Just thought it might be one solution for you. |

I would suggest you contact Krum Cheshmedjiev. He has already developped a s2M+MC plugin to synchronize s2M and MC bidirectionally. I think he might be able to work at adding the ccap functionality part. |

Thank you Bruce. AS i was reading their description, i just could not make such a clear image of what each one was about. You did it effectively. |

I dont know if this would solve the problem or not but i bought a plugin called MC+s2M that integrates s2M with MailChimp as a user can register through a MC form and get an s2M account created. In that case, it does create the account with the email address as the username. It might, or might not solve your problem but it could be a workaround. |

Since you can customize that Welcome page, you can put all the information you need for your particular site. You can put the header from your site, include pertinent links, etc. I think it should do what you need it to do. |

Yes, there is a special hack as a third party product. It is a dripped content hack that goes by ccaps so a member can actually have dripping content for several concurrent courses/content based on the time of transaction for that particular course/content. There is a post about it here: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/ccap-drip-timer-drip-multiple-courses/ This hack was developped by my programmer and he is available also to make tweaks if you need some. |

Did you customize your Mail Chimp welcome emails? I seem to remember that it was pretty straightforward to set up directly in Mail Chimp. |

Oh. LOAD213 was an affiliate product i mentioned in one blog post. My whole site is based on s2M. The Calendar Making Class is available through ccaps. The registration on the right is done through an outside plugin that will take the MC registration and create an account in s2M automatically, and the class content is only available if you are logged in (thus, registered). You can try it, it is free. The Courses > Basic Scrap and Courses > Element Creation will auto-redirect you to the sale page if you have not yet purchased it, but if you have purchased it, you get the index of the lessons. In addition, if you have purchased the class, it adds a dripping feature that i integrated through a hack that can be purchased from my programmer. The Master Classes are accessible also at different levels: the latest one is viewable if you are logged in. If you are not logged in, you get the sale pitch. If you are logged in and have not purchased the Master Class, you get the streaming video and a sale pitch for the complete class, if you have purchased the complete class, you also get the downloadable link and the guidebook. For previous presentation it is either you bought it (so you see it) or you didn’t (so you see the sale pitch). If you have any question, just let me know. |

I hope my site is not one of those: http://scrapbookcampus.com Thanks for reporting the one no longer active. I guess we can ask the admn to remove that link. |

If you put a button created inside the s2M, it would have all the settings to get those members directly into your s2M database. It should work just as intended. |

I am not sure if you can work this for different websites or not. I am using these ccaps and the shortcodes i included above are just a basic idea but it can be expanded and the viewers might not see what is going on behind the scene. I would suggest you check out the API/Scripting > Simple/Shortcode conditionals for the many options you can have. You can limit some content to those logged in or not. Did you watch the video on the Custom Capabilities? It is listed just at the bottom of this page. |

You can put those codes directly in the page. Being shortcodes between brackets [], it will not be displayed as text, but just read as a commant. So, on the page where you want to put the information about your product, you put that information inside the conditional for “if the person does not have the permission to view the protected content”, and you put the actual content (video, lesson, etc.) inside the second conditional that says “if the person HAS permission to view this protected content”. Basically, you need these steps: Now, since you are an admin, you will not be able to see the difference as it will display the content for you, so create a test member, and in the member’s profile, at the bottom, add the ccap that you just want to test (like “video1”). This will prevent you from having to make an actual purchase. And log in as the test member or try to view without being logged in. You should then see different content; either the information, OR the content itself. Give it a try and let us know how it goes. |

Yes, you can do that with conditionals and Custom Capabilities. Assuming you set a custom capability (ccap) called “video1” that has the protected content, you can have this code:
It is very easy and very flexible. |

Could you still not have, on your “coming soon” page, a button to purchase anyway with a mention like “I want to be in line to enter”? |

Thank Cristian, however, this does not really solve the issue. The options are either the member is demoted to a free subscriber, or the account is deleted. If a member has paid access through a Buy now button, but fails to pay the monthly, i still need the member to stay a Level1, but loose access to the particular ccap that was associated with the monthly payment. Also, to the question “Membership EOTs also Remove all Custom Capabilities? “, the choices are loss of all the ccaps or no effect. Well, if a member stops paying for a particular course, i need the member to lose access to the ccaps associated with that particular payment, but not ALL the ccaps. I think there needs to be some in-between options, or at the least, have a list of all the ccaps with dates of start and end, so admin can either reinstate deleted ccaps, or also explain what happened if a demotion was applied. IN fact, right now, s2M has no history kept of what members have purchased, had access to, lost access to, etc. It could be a useful addition. |

When a subscription is cancelled, i gather that all the ccaps are also removed, right? At least, that is what i can see happened. In order to prevent accident error on my part, i always add a comment in the comment box like a history; something like “purchased X on 13-03-2012; ccap automatically added” or “Demoted automatically on 10-12-2012” (i needed to keep track of what was automatically set as far as ccaps and what was not, if the member purchased a second product without being logged in). Anyways, considering that ALL ccaps are removed if the member is demoted through EOT, it might be a pain to figure out all the ccaps that were added, especially if some of them are NOT part of the demotion. Here is a suggestion for Jason: keep a history of the various ccaps assigned, added, removed, etc. in the comment part. |

There is a hack for that. You can read more about it here: I am using it for workshops and it works perfectly. |

Yes, that was the question: currently, the subscription they have is a monthly one that came after a 6 month for a fee. I thought of having a special button for that person only but i thought there might be a way to “resume” payments at the point they were when it failed. It might be something to add as a feature in future major release to make it simple to resume after whatever incident (one of my members had to change her account info, and that caused a failure and subscription cancellation from Paypal, too).
