Ah, I see:
You need to remove that from the Custom Capability field where you entered that before and save. I hope that helps! :) |

Hi Mike. Yes, the single site license is enough. The development installation doesn’t count. :) |

Hi Marco.
You can do this with the free version, Pro is not required. Protect the pages at Level 0 to require the user to be logged in, or protect at the higher level you’re selling as the premium level. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Page Access Restrictions[/hilite] When the user tries to load a page he doesn’t have access to, he’ll be redirected to the Membership Options page, where you can have the message you want. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Membership Options Page[/hilite] You can customize the message in that page conditionals and the Membership Options Page variables.
Well, you can give the user a custom capability (ccap) with his username, and then upload the invoice file to the s2member-files directory, protected with that user’s ccap. I hope that helps! |

I think you can. The Alternative Views restriction lets you control whether a protected page shows up in the results or not. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Alternative View Protection[/hilite] I’m not sure how much of the post is showing in your results, though, but if it’s the full post instead of a number of characters, you can try using WP’s “more” to define where the preview of the post ends before linking to the actual post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/ |

Hi TJ. Sorry, I don’t know how to avoid that problem when using index.html. I’d probably try using a “coming soon” plugin instead of index.html. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=coming+soon I hope that helps! |

Hi Fernando. I imagine you used the “Also Process List Transitions Automatically” setting. Did you also configure the “Process List Removals Automatically” setting? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / List Servers -› Automate Unsubscribes/Opt-Outs[/hilite] |

I just tested this in my WP installation, creating a custom profile field hidden on registration and profile, with a default value, and registered an account. The custom profile field wasn’t there on registration, but is in the profile page when I’m logged in as the admin, and it has the default value I gave it. I’d first make sure that the custom field you created was saved correctly and with the default value. Then I’d check for a theme or plugin conflict that may be causing this. To test the theme, change to the default TwentyEleven and try again. To test plugins, deactivate them one by one, testing after each to see if the problem continues. Let me know how it goes! :) |

Hi Mike. I tried the PayPal option for the payment and was taken to PayPal without that message, instead I’m given the choice to login to an existing PayPal account or create a new one (subscriptions with Express Checkout require the user to have a PayPal account). Do you get those too and the error happens later in the process, or am I having a different experience from yours? Do you have logging enabled? It’d be good to see the entries for those tests you did. If you post the the log entries here, remember x’ing out all private information from them. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite] Thanks! |

I’m so glad it helped you. :)
Did you protect that page in some way? If so, being logged out would definitely redirect you. When you get sent to the Membership Options Page, what are the variables in the URL in your address bar? They’ll show what restriction is being applied. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Membership Options Page Variables (MOP Vars)[/hilite] |

Hi Mandip. The way it goes is: – User clicks ClickBank button generated with the s2Member shortcode. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Buttons[/hilite] Did you register an account after the checkout or were you expecting that to happen automatically? In any case, until your site is running correctly, it’s good to have logging enabled to help sorting out any problems while setting this up. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite] I hope that helps! :) |

Christoper, “Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent” happens when the script tries to modify the headers after something is echoed to the browser, even if it’s just a space or line-break. The s2Member file mentioned in the error must have been modified in some way (maybe a failed upload?) because the original in the distribution doesn’t cause this error. Could you please re-upload that file from the s2Member zip file and try again? I hope that helps. :) |

Hi there. No, s2Member doesn’t generate PDFs. You can protect PDF files with the Download Restriction, though. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options[/hilite] But you need to put them in the protected folder yourself. Or, if you use another plugin to generate the PDFs, you’d need to have it put them in the protected folder. The download restriction is usually done with user levels, but you can also use custom capabilities. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Custom Capability and Member Level Files[/hilite] I hope that helps! :) |

Right, the Level and Specific restrictions aren’t compatible yet. It’d be one or the other. If you need to sell them both ways, I guess you’ll have to duplicate the posts/pages. To show part of a post, you can either use conditionals in the content instead of protecting the page/post. This wouldn’t work with Specific Post/Page restrictions, though. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Simple/Shortcode Conditionals[/hilite] You can also use WP’s “more” tag, so what’s before it can be shown in the archives or home page, but trying to open the post itself would redirect to the Membership Options page. I hope it helps. :) |

Marcus, was the user logged in when he paid the upgrade? He needs to be logged in to the account that’ll be upgraded when he loads that page with the s2Member shortcode for the button/pro-form. Could you do a test upgrade for 1 cent while logged in to a test subscriber account to see if you can reproduce what the user reported? |

Hi Brad.
Thanks! We weren’t aware that the link is broken. I’ll let Jason know.
I don’t know. Could you show me the log entries for this user? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite] Does his profile have an EOT time or is the field blank? |

Hi Derek. Yes, you can do that with the Applicable Membership Levels setting for the custom profile field. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields[/hilite] :) |
