Also, running Apache 2 or LiteSpeed.

Got ya.

Did you double check all your Authorize. Net integration to make sure everything is in order there? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Authorize.Net® Options[/hilite]

Every log entry related to the users not being demoted, regardless of the log file they’re in, please. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Authorize.Net® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite]

Thanks!

That’s a great suggestion. Thanks a lot! :)

That’s odd.

You could check that account’s profile to confirm that it’s actually at s2Member Level 0 or Subscriber.

You could login as the user from another browser, just to make sure you’re not using your admin account by mistake.

Ah, got ya.

Yeah, this should be in the coming major release, probably in a month or so. No set date yet, just an estimate. :)

Hello Alissa.

Yes, logs would be very helpful. If you could please quote here the related log entries from all the log files, x’ing out any private info (e.g. emails), that’d be great.

About cancellations, if the user still has some time left in what he paid, he’ll keep having access until that runs out. Have these people cancelled long ago and still have access or did it just happen?

*Some Hairy Details* There might be times whenever you notice that a Member’s Subscription has been cancelled through PayPal®… but, s2Member continues allowing the User access to your site as a paid Member. Please don’t be confused by this… in 99.9% of these cases, the reason for this is legitimate. s2Member will only remove the User’s Membership privileges when an EOT ( End Of Term ) is processed, a refund occurs, a chargeback occurs, or when a cancellation occurs – which would later result in a delayed Auto-EOT by s2Member.

s2Member will not process an EOT until the User has completely used up the time they paid for. In other words, if a User signs up for a monthly Subscription on Jan 1st, and then cancels their Subscription on Jan 15th; technically, they should still be allowed to access the site for another 15 days, and then on Feb 1st, the time they paid for has completely elapsed. At that time, s2Member will remove their Membership privileges; by either demoting them to a Free Subscriber, or deleting their account from the system ( based on your configuration ). s2Member also calculates one extra day ( 24 hours ) into its equation, just to make sure access is not removed sooner than a Customer might expect.

I hope that helps. :)

5. Person will get an email automatically asking them to login to the full site (I hope that\’s true)

This doesn’t happen automatically. You could achieve it integrating with a email service like MailChimp or AWeber and enable list transition, so that when the user changes levels, he also gets added to another list, which would immediately send that email you mentioned.

Hi Terry.

I looked at your button and the code for it shows the Hyper Focus SEO name correctly:

<input type="hidden" value="Hyper-Focus-SEO" name="item_name"/>

Then clicked the button, was taken to PayPal, and the description said it properly, no errors.

Had you already fixed the problem when using “SEO” in the description?

Before trying that, I was going to suggest checking for a plugin that may have been filtering your page’s body, maybe replacing some words (e.g. “SEO”), for whatever reason (e.g. linking).

By the way, I suggest you encrypt your buttons. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Account Details -> Enable Button Encryption[/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

Hello Terri.

I replied to your other ticket on this same topic earlier. It’s the way you created the custom fields, the values for those fields are missing, they only have labels. I explain in more detail in the other ticket.

Hello James.

What do you mean by Level1/Level2 affiliate system? Do you mean 2-tiered affiliate program?

Automatica upgrades could be possible with a little customization. You could use a conditional to check how long it’s been and if long enough, upgrade him with PHP.

Hello Tony.

You can look at most shortcodes in the free version of s2Member. The ones missing there would be the pro-form ones, but they go very much along the lines of the button ones.

You can use PHP variables in the shortcode attributes, too, if you needed to modify the form/button dynamically. http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1604

By the way, for the existing members you’d like to give a free upgrade to, you can just go to their profile page and change their Level manually from there.

Actually (and I think I’m not mistaken, Jason will correct me if so), you can use a regular button for Level 2 and whatever leve the user has, as long as he’s logged in to his account when he clicks the button and pays, his account will be upgraded.

I hope that helps. :)

Hello Joel.

No, the Pro add-on doesn’t add that functionality.

It is possible to create this kind of customization, though.

If you need help, there are good freelance developers in sites like elance.com, odesk.com or jobs.wordpress.net.

I hope that helps. :)

Thanks for the kudos.

Yes, you can protect the sales page at Level 1, and after reviewing the user and approving him, manually upgrade his account from Level 0 to 1 and point him to the page to pay. Only those accounts you gave Level 1 to will be able to see it.

I hope that helps.

Oh, I see the problem. I thought it’d be something like this.

You defined the options wrong. They all have the same value.

The string before the pipe is the value, the string after the pipe is the label. You have nothing before the pipe, so all the options have the same empty value.

So instead of:

|Pay by transfer
|Pay in cash

it should be

transfer|Pay by transfer
cash|Pay in cash

or

1|Pay by transfer
2|Pay in cash

or

t|Pay by transfer
c|Pay in cash

or something like that, with unique values for each option.

By the way, if you’ll only allow one value for that field, rather than both, you should use radio buttons, rather than checkboxes.

I hope that helps. :)

Oh ok, they are custom fields you created. Could you please show me screenshots of the panels for them, to see how you defined them, please. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields[/hilite]

Posted: Saturday Feb 25th, 2012 at 2:40 pm #6417

I see. Well, if I’m not mistaken, you could go into the database using something like phpMyAdmin and edit their user IDs to be the business ID you already had for them.

Thanks for the update, Ryan. Glad you solved it. :)

Those %s are to be replaced at the moment the string is used, if I’m not mistaken. I’m not sure where the string is used, but based on that you’d know what those would be replaced with and how to translate it.

Adam, they’re right. You’d use the success attribute in the shortcode for the pro-form.or button.

Thanks for the kudos, very appreciated. :)

Hmm… well, if you want to go advanced with URI restrictions, one thing comes to mind, which I haven’t tried, but you could play with:

Use mod_rewrite rules into .htaccess to match the URLs you want and add to them a string that s2Member will pick with the URI restriction.

I hope that helps!

Cassel.

I remember some months ago, having sent you an email with some instructions for a hack to use coupons with the buttons.

Do you still have it or want me to resend it?

Posted: Saturday Feb 25th, 2012 at 1:40 am #6393

Scott, if the user gets logged out for some reason and has to log back in, you may want to check that you’re not having a www issue in one of your links in the site, or the return URL from PayPal or something. Knowledge Base » Logged in but am considered logged out

Let me know if that helps.

Can I accomplish this? I have gone through some of the video tutorials and can see that I can create multiple membership levels. But what I need to do is to let people pay for individual sections of the membership site, rather than different access levels.

Hello Joel.

Sure, that’s very possible using custom capabilities. Here’s a video that explains them:

I hope that helps. :)
