Sorry about that. :/

At least now you know in case you need it again.

Oh, you can make them show in the profile only, instead of the registration. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields -> Custom Field -> Allow Profile Edits[/hilite]

Yes (editable after registration / invisible during registration)

That should do the trick. :)

Oh, if you’re not using PayPal, just enter fake values in the PayPal options and the error will go away. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Account Details[/hilite]

If you do start using PayPal for payments, just remember to update those values with the right ones. ;)

Hi Sasha.

Remove their user IDs, so s2Member creates new accounts instead of trying to modify the specified one.

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Andrew.

I think the idea of getting them registered at Level 0 and then manually upgraded to 1 after review, would be your best option.

If you wanted to add ccaps then, manually, you can too. Look further down in the profile page and you’ll find the field for them.

I hope that helps. :)

So the plugin works fine, but you get this error only in the info pages?
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member -> s2Member Info[/hilite]
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member -> s2Member Pro Info[/hilite]

Do you get the same error with the latest 120219 release?

I’m emailing Jason to take a look at this, too. :)

Hmm… Not really, no. For now it’s using PHP. There is a shortcode to get custom fields, but it’ll load the current user’s, so it’s not useful for a users listing where you need to specify each user’s ID, as you can with the PHP function. :/

You may want to get a developer from a site like odesk.com, elance.com or jobs.wordpress.net.

We’re working on making it possible to list users in a simpler way, although it’ll most probably still require some PHP or HTML knowledge, but right now there is nothing ready. Still, I’ll take your question as a feature request for that. :)

Hi Adam.

I emailed Jason asking him how it could be done. :)

Hello Amy.

You could use the registration notification’s email. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Notifications -› Registration Notifications[/hilite]

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBF914EDFF37EC3E9

Let me know if that helps. :)

Hello Rita.

Yes, you can create a new registration page elsewhere in WordPress using s2Member’s free registration pro-form. Knowledge Base » Offering Paid Member Registration for Free, Using Pro-Forms

About customizing the fields, you can do some things from [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields[/hilite].

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Derek.

You can get the custom fields using the get_s2member_custom_fields function.

http://www.s2member.com/codex/stable/s2member/api_functions/package-functions/#src_doc_get_s2member_custom_fields%28%29

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Mark.

Well, you can try that if you want. s2Member’s Login Welcome Page setting will most likely be bypassed, but as long as you’re doing it on purpose and taking the user where you want and it’s not a mistake caused unknowingly by some other plugin, I think it’s fine.

Try it and see if it works fine for you. :)

Hello Abdullah.

You can do something similar using the Specific Post/Page restriction, which doesn’t require registration. Sell the access to a specific page, and in it have the download link. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLED64B278374AB72F

I hope that helps. :)

They’d have the last one they bought. Yet, that wouldn’t work for you, cause the higher level would also have access to the content for levels below it. That’s not what you’re trying to do. You may want to look at Custom Capabilities. Video » s2Member (Custom Capabilities)

I hope that helps. :)

Yeah, was gonna mention the extra space there. Glad you sorted it out. :)

I’m pretty sure that the subscription would not be affected when deleting his WordPress account.

I’ll email Jason asking if there’s a simple way to make it happen.

The s2Member shortcodes for PayPal don’t have an attribute for that yet. Still, if you have that setting available in PayPal, you can try entering there the URL you want.

Or, if you want to specify that URL on a case by case basis, you can try doing it with PayPal created buttons, see if they let you do that. Make sure you read this to have the button work with s2Member: Knowledge Base » Using PayPal created buttons.

I hope that helps. :)

If you’re subscribing to the topics you participated in, you can view them listed in your forum profile page.

Does that help?

When using a protected file in a player, try the URL without the querystring. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Advanced Mod-Rewrite Linkage[/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

I see.

Normally, even a free user gets that bar, but with very few options, mostly a link to his profile, but you seem to have a lot more there. Not sure if it’s being added by some other plugin you installed, or if you edited the role’s capabilities in a way that’d enable those options in the bar.

To remove the bar, you can use a plugin that does just that, although it’d not remove permissions the account has, if they’re there. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=remove+bar

If you deactivate all other plugins, log out and back as the free user, does the bar look the same? If you don’t want to deactivate the plugins for the test, try a clean install of WP in a temp dir and see what the bar looks like there for a free user, then install s2Member and notice it doesn’t add anything. If you have extra stuff in your MMJ’s bar, it’s something else in your installation putting there.

I hope that helps. :)

I use MadMimi too, and you can integrate to it using their API and s2Member’s notifications.

Still, Zoe seems to have solved it for you. Thanks a lot for sharing that Zoe! :D

Thanks.

What happens if you use the WP default for the New User email? Does it get to the user or do you have the same problem?

If you go back to using the custom email, after trying the WP default, does it then work?

Posted: Monday Feb 27th, 2012 at 3:20 pm #6522

Glad that solved it. :)
